Love this place! Im from Hawaii and California. Sometimes I get lazy and dont want to make homemade Hawaiian food. I decided to make the drive from Hampton to see what this place was all about. The employees are so friendly! Theyre smiling and happy and it made for a great first impression. I ordered the teryaki chicken plate with white rice and macaroni salad. It was DELICIOUS! Of course it wasnt as good as homemade but it wasnt far from it! I carried on a conversation with one of the employees, he was so nice. Two girls asked if I needed any water since I decided to dine in rather than take it to go. When I left they all said bye. Great people great food great place. I recommend this place and I will be coming back for sure!

Nick Phillips review is pretty accurate to my experience. I am on TDY @ JBLE. Being from Hawaii, I can say the Hawaiian food that I oredered taste pretty legit like something that you would get from an L&L. They are missing a few island favorites. I asked for a Hawaiian Sun beverage but they dont carry it. You will find a lot of Chinese items on the menu. I got the kalua pork without cabbage, kalbi, chicken katsu, some kind of BBQ shoyu chicken, mac salad, and rice. My buddy went with a loco moco. In the end I was satisfied. Although Ive only been to one other establishment in the 757 area that advertises as "Hawaiian", I would definitely come back to Ono and recommend this place to other people.

The food was great! If you come here I recommend you come with a big appetite because their portions are big. We ordered their BBQ platter which included three types of meat, also rice, and macaroni salad. Their Hawaiian choices are limited; they offered primarily Chinese dishes. The owners were staffing the restaurant when we went and the lady did not frown on my wife and I for having brought outside food (McDonalds) for our kids. We were concerned that our kids would not like the food "Ono" had to offer and not let us enjoy our food. The kids liked our food too and they ended up enjoying it as well.

I have been here quite a bit being only about 5 minutes from where I work. I have tried almost everything from the menu and I have yet to find something I didnt like. Lunch specials are extremely filling and reasonably priced. I recommend beef and mushrooms, sesame chicken, Moco Loco and the ribs. You get some delicious crispy snacks to dip in a delightful sauce while you wait while dining in. if you do return to this place the owner will remember you and probably even remember what you had last. Another "cheers" like experience. Easily one of my favorites in that area.

This is a pretty decent Hawaiian BBQ place, although there lunch specials were all Chinese food. They also had lots of Chinese style soups on the menu but not one saimen ramen, hmmm I think this may be a chinese place specializing in Hawaiian dishes. I ordered kalbi it was fatty but good my coworker ordered the chicken combo and he really liked the katsu chicken. It looked really good. Overall for the price if asked to go there by a local I wouldnt tell them no.

Amazing portion the sweet girl at the front said I wouldnt be able to finish and she was right! I also asked her for help because my brain doesnt take in information right sometimes and she was very helpful. Have in mind I didnt tell her that and rather than reading off the menu she asked me my preferences with favor and such. And the house sauce was great.

The food here is delicious. One of our favorite places in all Hampton Roads to eat. This place has ruined me for takeout Chinese joints. Its home cooked.. not canned like most Chineese takeout joints that are all the same. And on top they have Hawaiian food that is amazing. Try the Kalua Pork.. You wont be sorry. Ok now my mouth is watering.

This place is truly special. I grew up in Hawaii and was thrilled to see this place as I drove by on my lunch break -- they even have Spam Musubi which I havent seen on a menu since I was a child. Mahi mahi is delicious and the woman at the front was very sweet. Will be back for sure

They have Hawaiian portions (i.e. huge!). I tried theyre loco moco, and I thought it was just okay. Didnt really try their Chinese menu, but I didnt like the egg drop soup. The Hawaiian bbq is really tasty though, so if youre craving for this, it definitely satisfies.

I love going to this restaurant with my family. The family of restauranteurs is so sweet, accommodating to our kids, and the food is yummy. We love the kahlua pork, shrimp fried rice, wonton soup and pepper steak. Sounds like dinner tonight. Oh, and they cater!

One star off for the appearance of the location. Also if you go here dine in!! They are stingy with the sauce if you get it to go. This place is a hidden gem. I took a friend of mine here and he loved it also.

Great food at a generous price. Family owned and operated by a super friendly couple. My wife and I have never left disappointed. Both the Hawaiian and Chinese menus are equally delicious.

The food was amazing, best in Virginia, the staff is extremely dedicated to the finest of service by ignoring a phone call to take our order, a very warm and welcoming environment.

The kahlua pork tasted more like Chinese stir fry than what Im used to from Hawaii. The kalbi short ribs were very good though. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.

Very good food at a good price! I had Katzu chicken and Hawaiian BBQ chicken. Both were very tasty! The service is excellent. The owner was very friendly and polite.

One of my most favorite places to eat in Hampton Roads. The meat is so tender and well seasoned I always have a hard time walking to my car after because I ate too much.

Great food at great prices with generous portions. The restaurant has a very mom and pop shop sort of feel. Its a very casual place. We have always enjoyed good service.

General Tso Chicken was nothing but fried bread no chicken at all. I call back and nothing was done not even an apology. I will not return and do not recommend it.

This restaurant was lackluster. The food was average and very plain. Portion size was average. Not terrible, but definately not a first choice.

I have been trying to find Hawaiian Mac Salad for over 4 years now since I left Hawaii. This food is pretty damn spot on to real Hawaiian food!

Family atmosphere, good specials. Owners are generous and kind! Oh, and the food is a great mixture of Hawaiian/Chinese/Korean/Japanese!
