Service Trumps - As the menu states..."unpretentious". The service at this place sets a standard. Its always fast and friendly. The staff is very attentive during the entire visit. The fare is typical. The drinks and the food are consistent. Before you can get settled good and look around chips are on the table. While some places only serve the salsa, they still include the queso as well. A variety of margaritas and wines are available so no issues there. For the meal we got the Chile Rellenos (my fav) and the Vegetarian Jalisco. The Jalisco includes a mushroom quesadilla overflowing with mushrooms. The atmosphere is filled with fun. The music is typically traditional. If youre in the area and want fun, fast and friendly service, stop by.

Most disgusting food ordered a chicken rice n cheese and drowned my rice n chicken in statute cheese n than I tried to tell the server which never came back to our table Til it was time to give us our bill. Explained to him that I took 3 bites of this and is just disgusting as it was flooded in cheese . Server says u need to tell manager . REALLY why the hell am I gonna leave you a tip if I have to do your job . Manager than says to me why did u not tell the server , how can I when he doesnt even approach our table after giving the food . Manager than says dont come back hey by all means 2 less customers u will have at this establishment . Thankyou for your hospitality

Youve been warned! Causes food disability. Their food is so good and theres so much of it, it causes you not to be able to move afterwards. We started with a tamale appetizer that looked like a meal for two, then shared one combo dish (#27) with chicken enchiladas, beans, rice and veggies and another chicken and steak dish with caramelized onions and mushrooms. Delicious! I bet it didnt help that we had two enormous Dos Equis and a small mango margarita (which wasnt small at all). All of that food for three for under $50!

This place has really gone downhill..I used to love it but now the service is horribly slow. My girlfriend and my meal were both soggy and nothing tasted fresh. The meat was bland and extremely dry and overcooked. We tasted the food, and told them how terrible it was and didnt pay for it. Its moderately cheap mexican, but not worth it by far. I dont plan on, and would not recommend for anyone to dine at this establishment. On the bright side - the water was good.

We each had the "La Veracruzana." It was excellent! I added some chorizo to it as well! One of the best dishes I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Their "white salsa" I have never seen before, it was very good with their chips, albeit not the healthy option I am sure. Portion size was good for the price. I enjoyed very much. Very clean restaurant as well, they have there stuff together. I would be happy to be a repeat customer next time I am in town!

Im a truck driver and I ate here during my break. Ive been to a lot of Mexican places but this one is near the top. Its fairly cheap but dont let that fool you. I am stuffed after completing my meal. Good Mexican seasoning without dumping 5 pounds of salt on everything. I dont live around here, but if I did, Id eat here pretty often. My server was also very nice and professional. 5 stars for sure.

My husband and I have been going here for years, even when we first started dating we ate here. We love the people,the food is excellent, prices are more than reasonable, margaritas are fantastic, atmosphere is great. I would recommend El Rodeo to anyone and everyone! The taco loco salad is my favorite, and my husband loves the chicken burritos and enchiladas with rice and beans.

I wish ethnic restaurants would have one or two plain items on their menus (a plain burger or steak) for example. Id love to eat dinner with friends but I cannot attend because there is literally nothing on the menu I will eat. Please think of those that dont like (Mexican, Chinese, Thai, fill in the blank...) food but wish to accompany friends to dinner.

Since Senior Iguanas closed my husband and I had been looking for another "favorite mexican restaurant". We came pretty close with El Rodeo. They are very accomodating with my order (I hate onions!) and always greet us with a smile. They seem to recognize us and ask how we are doing. That coupled with good quality food keep us coming back every week.

My boyfriend and I eat out here regularly and all the waitors know us. We LOVE the food. I always get the same thing each time: California Burito without beans. Its so delicious and filling! They also give out fresh, hot chips they make with two things of salsa to hold you over while youre waiting. Service is also very good and good prices.

Always a pleasure eating here. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The food is a great escape from eating processed fast food. A great place to take a special someone if youre not getting dressed up. The prices are reasonable for the portion size you receive. This is the best mex restaurant in my opinion in Norfolk!

Love this restaurant. Been coming here for years. Excellent service, the food comes quickly and is delicious. Very clean establishment. Been to other Mexican restaurants (even Jessies) and this remains my favorite for several reasons. The chimichangas and taco salad are my favs.

By far the BESTEST Mexican food!!! Hands down,it was SO good I had to order another plate to go to have for lunch at work tmrw. :) the prices for lunch & dinner specials are OK but youve got to try the pork carnitas!!! Service is super friendly! Just love this place! :)

The food was great. Went there with my husband and child. The ambiance was very authentic and so was the food. Three of us ate for under $50. I got the chicken fajitas and my husband got the enchiladas everything tasted very authentic and just like if I were in Mexico!

This place is horrible. My husband and I went there and we will never go back. The margarita was watered down, the guacamole was not real avocado and we never had one person check on us. We had to flag someone down to even get our check. We will never eat here again.

I dont know what has happened to El Rodeos food but our visit yesterday may be our last. We have been going there for years and have always been satisfied with the food and service but there has evidently been changes in the quality and/or preparation of their food.

Great food. Great service. My son & I dined here on his birthday. Hes a fanatic about Mexican food. It reminds me of the delicious Mexican cuisine I had while living in Southern Texas near the border where he was born. I Loved the tamales. He loved everything!
