Been going to other Mexican restaurants for quite some time. Today I was at Plaza Azteca and it was very crowded, so I came over to Degollado; I am extremely pleased with my decision. The food was fantastic, a lot better than other Mexican restaurants! The staff was very nice and friendly, couldnt have been any better! Was very amused to see all of the staff members activly talking Spanish to the other employees, not very many Mexican restaurants have Spanish-speaking employees. I would certainly come again. If you like Mexican food, dont go to Plaza Azteca & wait hours to get a table... Instead, go to Degollado, where as soon as you walk in, youre seated. The staff members will instantly come straight to your table, ask you for your drink and bring your drink in about a minute. In under a minute after giving the drink (well enough time to decide on what to eat), one of the staff members will come and take your order. Once you order, the food will come in under 2-3 minutes. After youve eaten your food, they will kindly ask you if youd like a box and a bag, then lay your reciept on the table. They will give you enough time to pay for your meal, and then they will guide you to the exit. Once you are directed to the exit, the staff members will both politely greet you goodbye; kindly giving you a bow, and you will be on your way!

This past Saturday was my very first time at this Mexican restaurant when I walk in it was nothing but love they were smiling when greeting me and it was so surprising because usually any other Mexican restaurant they would just watch you and sit and wont take your order the owner and the waiter both walked up to me and asked politely am I ready to order. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for myself and I ordered the chicken enchiladas & chicken quesadilla and rice for my daughter the food was delicious they gave me so much food and my daughter had a kids meals for 4.75 they also gave her a lot of food she could not eat all that food my quesadilla was so so good and full of flavor I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. As a Black American they did not treat me any different and I will be going to this restaurant again this week

Today I had lunch at Degollado and we did not enjoy it at all, we ate it but did not like it. My husband ordered a Speedy Gonzalez and I got the Taco Salad. My husband said his lunch was not good and my taco salad was horrible. It was the sloppiest I have ever had...I didnt not find very much beef in it and there was only a couple of refried beans, it looked like they put very runny salsa in it. The shell was a little too brown for my taste and tasted a little on the burned side. I will not be eating there again as we thought the food was nasty

Food is really good, servers are pretty friendly. There are two guys in particular that work there that speak very little english but they know enough to get the job done. The food isnt the greatest Mexican food Ive ever had but its still pretty darn good, and for $5 a meal on Wednesdays, it keeps me and the hubby coming back. Its kind of a hole in the wall place in the sense that its kind of small and low-key, but still well run. Their guacamole is the second best Ive ever had, right under my dads. But that simply cant be beat. ; ]

Typical family-owned Mexican restaurant, with the expected assortment of menu items and portions. Daily specials and happy hour to help those on a budget. Service was responsive and friendly--was not left with an empty drink or chips & salsa. My only complaint was that the chicken in both my tamale and burrito was somewhat dry and bland; for this reason I cannot justify more stars, as the food should be good to warrant continued patronage.

Thought that since they won the Huevos Rancheros contest, other things on the menu would be good. I was wrong. Had the tacos with rice and refried beans. Husband had a taco, burrito and rice with refried beans. At best they were average. Worse part was how dirty the place is. Sat in a booth and looked through a cloudy window with blinds with dirt on every slat. Restaurant needs a good cleaning. Wonder what the kitchen looks like.

Weve been going here for years and the food is always flavorful. Customer service is great too. Very welcoming family environment. I dont know why this place isnt always packed because their food isnt bland like other "Mexican" places around here. Its a nice hidden local spot that really should get more recognition than what it gets.

the food was average. nothing stuck out for being good or bad. we went for lunch which they have everyday instead of m-f like some. we got two lunch specials and two sodas and it was $17.. so even the price is average. we might go back if we have coupons, but as of right now we are still on the hunt for our perfect spot.

Authentic experience. Chips and homemade salsa were great. Had the Chile Verde tonight, it was great. They actually do it right. It is originally a Pork dish but they give you the option to choose between Pork and Beef. The rice and beans were also pretty good. Pricing is average for the area. $8-$12 most dishes.

The service was decent but the food was not traditional Mexican. Falls in line with all the other Mexican Restaurants in the area. No flavor, all the sauces taste the same, from the burritos, tamales and enchiladas. And the white sauce that these places give you with your chips and salsa is disgusting

If its authentic Mexican you crave, this IS the place. The owner and his family run this friendly and tasty place. Everything can be cooked to order. And do try your Spanish out on them. They wont laugh too hard when you butcher it as badly as I do. Been a regular since they opened years ago.

I have been coming here since they opened several years ago. The food is good, but the friendly staff is really what this place is all about. Never have I eaten somewhere and felt so at home. More restaurant need to treat their customers like these fine people do.

Coming from Texas we were looking for some good Mexican food. We decided to try this place around the corner. Unfortunately it did not do much to excite the palate. Every dish looks the same and they use fake cheese. Not very authentic, but certainly edible.

Amazing food amazing drinks. Love eating there. My mother in law and best friend is Mexican and when I cant get my Mexican food fixs with them this place is where I go. The Staff is very friendly. And aim to give you a pleasurable dinning experience.

The family/staff are SUPER friendly and accommodating. The food is as always fresh, hot and great! They have specials every day of the week. Theres also a separate bar area..great for a nightlife spot. The restaurant is always kept clean and FESTIVE!
