My family and I love this place! We have been coming since non-stop since the doors opened in early 2016, and initially experienced the slower the usual service, but we continually spoke to the owners and staff about our experiences and watched the improvements occur in front of our eyes! These guys care so much about the experience people have in their restaurant and you can feel that when you are there! The food..... oh man! My staple is the Sandbar Burger (see the pic!) and anyone who loves just a darn good burger needs to try it, but lately every time we have gone in there has been an irresistible special so be sure to ask what the special is that night. During these winter months the upstairs is where we eat, but during the summer you will only see us on the back patio in what they have dubbed "Pirates Cove" overlooking the sun setting on Lake Anna in a calm and beautiful no wake zone area of the lake. It is such an incredible view. Finally, Sunday Brunch is great! I recommend the sausage biscuits, or if you are in a 5min or less rush, stop in right next door at the convenience store for a great breakfast sandwich!

Total visit: 1 hour 25 min, and not by choice. Hostess promptly greeted us and sat us in a good place. Waitress took our drink orders, very simple, one iced tea, one water. Waitress promptly took our order, 1 bowl of lobster bisque soup, 1 Cannonball appetizer, 4 slider burgers with a side of fries. 45 minutes it took for the food to arrive, no refills during the entire visit. Lets start with the sliders. 4 small burgers appropriately sized, with absolute zero flavoring. Lettuce was old, and had five very thinly quarter sliced tomatoes. Fries never came and had to ask the hostess about them because the waitress never returned once the food was delivered. Lobster bisque soup had potential, but was overly salted to the point I couldnt eat it. No lobster in it that I could tell or very minimal lobster was used to make it that day. Cannonball appetizer, again, holy sodium Batman, I do enjoy salt, but these were, again, so overly salted I couldnt enjoy them. Once finished, it took the waitress 20 minutes to bring our check. Id say try it for yourself, maybe we just got a bad night, but I dont think we shall be returning.

I want to first say thank you to the owners for putting in a ton of hard work and opening up a place that was long overdue to this area. The renovations you guys did are great!!! In my opinion the food is without a doubt the best in the area. If you want to come in and get a good meal with your family and keep things kinda low key , you can go upstairs and sit either inside or outside on the deck. Or if ya wanna have a cold drink or four or five then the downstairs is the place to be!!! Either way you can enjoy a good meal and at a fair price!! THE PLACE IS VERY CLEAN, THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY PLENTY OF PARKING FOR BOTH CARS OR IF YA COME BY BOAT. THE OWNER IS USUALLY ALWAYS THERE TO TRY TO MAKE YOUR VISIT AS BEST AS POSSIBLE AND I HAVE SEEN THE OWNER GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE THERE AS HAPPY AS POSSIBLE. AND MORE THEN ONCE GAVE A FEW CUSTOMERS A SAFE RIDE HOME BECAUSE THEY STAYED JUST A BIT LONGER THEN THEY SHOULD OF. AGAIN I SAY THIS PLACE IS A GREAT PLACE AND ITS ONLY GETTN BETTER AND BETTER THANKS GUYS YALL DID A GREAT JOB AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. SEE YA SOON

I asked the waitress if the clam basket was a good portion. She said it is HUGE so I ordered it. When it arrived 38 minutes later it only had a childs handful. I said this is so small to her and she said sorry and walked away. The table behind me ordered a clam basket as well and it truly was HUGE. I showed my waitress the different size plates and she responded " see how big it is" and agreed mine was half the size. She said sorry and that was it. I asked to speak to a manager. I waited 15 minutes for a manager but they never came. My waitress said the manager told her the kitchen weighs the portions and mine must have only looked smaller. They didnt care about the situation at all. They were out of shrimp, fish, steak and a few other entrees and didnt tell us until we tried to order what they didnt have. Ive eaten here many times and Ive liked their food but as far as the way they handled this situation and charged me full price for half an order I will not return.

The experience I had was great!! The service was amazing & the staff makes you feel right at home! You get such a good laugh out of the waiter Andrew. I had such a great conversation with the hostess too! She always made sure we were okay with our food or if we needed anything if our server wasnt attentive because of his other tables. Everyone always has smiles on their faces & makes it a very wonderful environment to be in. It has the best lake front, no wake zone view. I mean I could just sit there for HOURS, no matter how high my bill would add up to. I would spend my money there any day. For only being open for a year now, theyre doing such a great job!! The food... OH my GOODNESS!!! AMAZING!!! Ill totally be back a thousand times more!! Keep it up!! Thank you!!!

The Cove has undergone an absolutely fantastic transformation from what once was. The Delectable dishes and the prompt and friendly wait staff now in place make this a go to for locals and visitors alike at Lake Anna. The bartender Miles was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area while also maintaining everyone at the bar. The downstairs area has a new enclosure to make it a Four Seasons attraction whereas before the downstairs was more of a three-season area. At night there is more of a bar scene downstairs while still maintaining a restaurant upstairs. Lots of local beers on tap as well as a great selection of bottled and canned beers and a full bar upstairs and downstairs.

Restaurant was 83 degrees inside this evening. Waitress advised she didnt think the Manager was authorized to make it cooler. Requested to speak with him. He advised he couldnt turn it down - or the outside units would freeze up. Im no HVAC technician however Ive heard this occurs when it needs refrigerant (serviced). When we arrived I asked the waitress if it was still happy hour, she said for another couple minutes. When I got the bill the drinks were full price. Asked the waitress why that was - she advised we missed it by one (1) minute. In all my dining out - no one has not honored the happy hour pricing. We admit the food and portions were favorable.

Went with My daughter to enjoy the sun and water today. Had 1 appetizer and shared a Kabob plate with 2 drinks each and the bill was $73. Crab dip was 7-11 cheese watered down with a couple bits of crab in a tiny ramekin...that was $12, I think. Beef Kabobs had 4 Skewers that were very tiny with thin slices of a tomato and 5 small cubes of meat total on the plate for $16.99. Could have gotten Filet for that price! Service was okay but we were rushed out before we finished our drinks. So I guess Our 4 drinks were $10 a piece to add up to the $73. I dont know - - VERY disappointed...and broke for the rest of the weekend now.
