Im repulsed to the least. I came in to grab something to take with me to eat. I walk in and didnt know where the hell to place my order. Finally found it walked over and asked for a hamburger with fries and sweet tea. I was told it was cash only which i find sketchy because they have an atm. As i sat for 30 mins waiting on burger i noticed some very odd things. There were black face dolls by the register which i thought was strange for 2016. Also noticed how all off there darker complexion employees are in the back cooking. None on the floor. What was even more alarming was all the Alt-right propaganda on the walls. I actually wished this was a great place. But i will never be returning and if your not an older white male you will be offended.

K&L has been a part of my life since childhood. Every time I go here I am completely satisfied. There are three waitresses definitely worth mentioning! Their names are 1.Khristie 2.Bre 3.Teresa Please excuse any possible spelling errors. Theyre very kind and helpful. Every time Ive come the service is amazing and the food is steaming hot and fresh. Not to mention the incredible prices! Im trying to think of a way to thank these women for their dedication. I love K&L and until shown otherwise, I always will.

Best barbeque around )unless you like sweet barbque then hit up sauceys in petersburg or bitter barbweque then hit up lilpigs in pburg) everything is AWESOME service is greeeaaaattt!!! I dont know how people are complaining been there many of times && once me && my twin (college students) were doing hw and were there for about 2 hours our waitress brought me suger and lemon constantly since I didnt have enough money for a soda and cant stand water. Kudos to a greaat restuarant.

The food establishments around Hopewell are going down hill fast! That includes, sadly K&L. Not as good as used to be. Have had some not so good food lately. Fried foods overcooked; catsup in catsup packs black color (come on K&L - reach in your deep pockets and spring for some new catsup packs); BBQ sandwich w/hard bits in it; & more. I know rave reviews are coming from "friends of K&L", but lets be serious. Their food used to be great but not lately. Sorry!!!!!

I had high hopes for this place based on the google reviews. I got the BBQ sampler which included pork, beef, bbq chicken, baked potato, and biscuits. The pork, beef, and chicken all appeared to be oven roasted, were dry, and had little flavor. The only thing BBQ about it was the sauce. There was plenty of food and it was a good value for the money. But if this is widely considered the best BBQ in the area, I dont think Ill get BBQ in that area again.

I cant be the only one who got the vibe from this place that the owners are very racist... Seem to be alt-right, honestly. My family all voted for Trump, and I support the president, but this place was a bit too much for me... Just look around and youll notice sketchy things all over the walls as "decorations." Nonetheless, the food was great and I enjoyed that. Hard to get past the almost obvious racism.

Great home cooked style food. Service can be great to mediocre depending on the waitress. Prices are always low. Cash only but ATM on site. Most evenings they are full of blue hairs like myself because of the good food and low prices. Lunch times are always busy with local businessmen etc. Some days you cant find a place to park. Go there, you will not be disappointed.

A good ole mom and pop restaurant definitely some good barbecue. Portions were perfect and some of the best barbecue I have had in awhile. The restaurant is a little old and has a older crowd eating but, the food was great and the wait staff were polite and quick with the food. One bad thing is no Debt or Credit cards, Cash Only.

Was eating with my family and my daughter ordered ribs and they were dry and tough..we asked to exchange for aomething else and the owner proceeded to curse and say that they were perfect and she was not replacing them with something else. Began to curse us more and asked us to leave. Poor professionalism on the owners part.

love their BBQ been going there since I was a kid. it was always me and grandmas stop after church to pick up dinner. I go in now and buy the sauce which is like 2 buxs and it goes good making a butt at home in the crock pot or on chicken. the sauce is awesome!

Fast, friendly service Ive had the BBQ sandwich and Ive had the chicken salad sandwich both were delicious and the price is good. Only thing is they dont take credit or debit cards its a cash only business.

Food is awesome! Have eaten there for years and they have the best BBQ in the area. Service is great and fast, faster than most fast food places. The onion rings are fabulous! My favorite restaurant!

Am not a friend or relative of the store. Really good tasty food at a low price. Barbecue was tasty, cole slaw fresh and sweet, beans were delicious and the hushpuppies hot and fresh. Nice place to eat.

Honestly, they have great service and food. The BBQ is ok. (Not the best I ever had) However, they have the BEST chicken wings in VA. Also if you ever go make sure you try the potato cake and cole slaw.
