I really want to like this restaurant. The food is good and the prices arent bad. We visited right after they opened, earlier in the year, and had a dirty fork and a glass with lipstick on it. The waitress was very quick to fix the situation and everything was good after that. It was a brand-new place, so we gave them a pass. Things were also a little helter-skelter but, again, it was just opened, so thats pretty normal until things are ironed-out. My wife and I visited again a week or two ago. Things were still in a state of confusion. Two or three employees ran past us, standing inside the door, made eye contact and didnt seat us or say "well be right with you". When we were seated a minute later, the waitress was very friendly and brought our drinks quickly. We were at the table closest to the kitchen and I was facing it, so I was people-watching while waiting for our food. This was a little while, as the kitchen was backed-up (I overheard an employee who appeared to be the owner, maybe, complaining to another about this.) and saw our waitress express concern to that employee. We continued to wait and at one point, our waitress walked out of the kitchen, visibly crying and upset, and had to hurry-off to the restroom to recompose. Im not sure what was said to her, but it must have been pretty nasty to bring tears. I heard another employee (presumably also in charge?) say, "Ill talk to them, Ill talk to them" to her. Maybe she walked into the kitchen to ask where the food was for all the backed-up tables (I heard the owner say something about 4 backed-up, and there are only maybe 15-20 tables) and was yelled at? Anyway, quite a show, and we felt bad for the waitress. When she returned, she did her best to appear happy and friendly, so props to her for working through it. When our food finally came, it was good (I wouldnt push-it and say great, though). In all, we were there an hour for breakfast. This restaurant lacks leadership. It has a lot of potential and I really want to like it as a local, small-business breakfast place, but the owners got to get things together and maybe hire a manage who can control the place and organize the operations. Maybe well try again in another 6 months...

Ive seen the Stacked Eatery several times in coming and going to this shopping center and made a mental note that I wanted to try it out. After seeing a write up in The Pilot news paper about how good the pancakes were, the hubby and I decided to go in on Saturday, April 1. When we first arrived we were seated right away but the place was packed! We were happy not to have to wait. There are lots of tables but not a lot of space so it felt crowded and it was loud. Not the the place to be for a nice, quiet conversation with your table mates. We ordered our breakfasts, both of us choosing pancakes! Hubby choose the standard buttermilk pancake platter and I opted for the blueberry pancake platter. Then we waited...and waited. Honestly it was an absurd length of time for a breakfast order. Im quite sure Ive gotten steak dinners faster than these pancakes. However they were very busy so I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. I happily dug in - and my balloon completely deflated. My sausage patties were very dry, the side of grits I had ordered were underdone and lumpy (the 80 cent extra cheese was barely noticeable) and worst of all -my pancakes were not blueberry. Instead I was brought plain buttermilk. I didnt bother to complain as I didnt want to wait an eternity for a new plate. The hubby and I agreed there was really nothing special about the food at all. Honestly on the rare occasion Ive eaten a Cracker Barrel the food was better than this breakfast was and I dont consider Cracker Barrel "good food." Our server checked on us once just after our meal was delivered and then we never saw her again. A different person delivered our check - we were never asked if we needed anything else. We waited - I kid you not - for 20 minutes and no one ever bothered to come pick up our check. My hubby finally just took it up to the server station so we could leave. All in all this is a place I would suggest you skip. There are far, far better options - try Citrus in Virginia Beach or Egg Bistro has several locations.

Im a bit late posting my review but even months later the food, service, and dining room still bother me enough to go back and write it. First the wooden benches along the wall we sat on were very sharp and angled which doesnt feel good no matter how your legs hit it. The room is also really open with a swinging door to the kitchen. We watched several times as the door opened the cooks lounging and complaining to each other while our food sat under lamps. Second, our food was terrible. I even ordered two dishes in case the first one turned out bad and they both came out cold, not cooked at all, or completely wrong. My eggs looked like they hadnt touched the pan at all, and the muffin for my eggs Benedict definitely hadnt been cooked. It was brought out to me completely cold and soft with a very undercooked egg on top. After I mentioned it to the waitress she took it into the kitchen and because the door swings, we could see both cooks and the waitress arguing over its quality. At that point I was done and ready to leave but we stayed because it was a family meal and we were hungry. Finally the staff, as I mentioned before about the cooks and their complete displeasure for being there and arguing with each other, our waitress kept forgetting our order and coming back to verify long after it had been placed. The place wasnt packed but she would disappear for long periods of time only to come back and ask us if we needed refills that we had already told her yes to prior to her 10 minute vanishing act. We were also excited to try the bloody Mary bar that she bragged about but was nowhere to be found. I guess they took it all down midway through brunch for some reason and she was clueless as to why. So if you go there and have a better time than ours, congrats, but we unfortunately didnt and it was bad enough for me to write a review for which Ive only done on two other occasions my whole life months after I ate there.

I saw all of the bad reviews, so I actually had already set my expectations low. I went in with an open mind hoping for the best, I asked for the skillet breakfast with the smoked pork sausage, when I got my food, they had served me kielbasa instead because they ran out of the smoked sausage, they should have come out and asked me what alternative I would have liked instead of just serving me the kielbasa and trying to pass it off. She did bring me out the regular pork sausage links fairly quick though after I complained. Now, the skillet is not how everyone else makes a skillet breakfast. Its a regular breakfast served on a skillet instead of a plate. Google a picture of your typical skillet breakfast, and thats not what you get. Now off to the breakfast, the biscuits were tasteless, the sausage and home fries were OK, nothing spectacular, and the eggs..... well, you really cant screw up eggs, can you. Now, my nephew had the flat round sausage and it was very salty and un-eatable. Groupon or no Groupon, we wont be eating here again, and let me nip this in the butt right now, we didnt try using multiple Groupons like they suggested in 3 other replies to the other complaints.
