Disappointing food and poor staff. SUMMERY -Long wait -Poor quality -Stoned waitress -Pathetically small portioned chicken. -Wet tasteless Hamburgers. THE DETAILS After about 35 minutes of waiting in a non buisy dinning room (there where more implodes than customers) I had a grilled chicken sandwich. When it came out the chicken was the size of a chicken finger, not a brest fillet. (I would know I have prepared and served both) It covered less than half of the bun. As was my original intention, I ate the chicken separate from the bun, by cutting it to places and eating with a fork. It was so tough I could not cut it with the knife and wound up having to tear it apart. For $10 you expect more meat, and at the very least a correctly cooked meal, not a hockey puck. Others I was with ordered burgers, and after getting one order wrong, all found them to be ok but too wet and crumbly, and worth about half of what we payed. No one decided to complain because it seemed there was nothing they would be able to do to make it right, it is just poor quality food. Lastly everyone was kind but our waitress was incredibly dimwitted and slow. Every question we asked even the simplest ones took a long time to get answered, if she could even formulate a responce at all. To be honest Im not sure if she was actually dimwitted, I and a few others where under the impression she was high, and disfunction in for that reason.

Shawn (server) and Anders (bartender) and Steve (manager) are some of the nicest people that you could ever meet. If we ever had an issue with a meal or a drink they immediately fixed it. Upon finding out that my husband is a veteran, Steve offered to help us with our nonprofit as much as he physically could. Shawn is one of the nicest men that Ive ever dealt with. He always just wants to make sure that everything is perfect for you. The way that he acts should be the way that every server acts towards customers. Anders the bartender is very quick and extremely professional. He also invents these awesome shakes that are a twist on their normal shakes. The Twist of course is a mixture of different alcohol. Somehow he makes is the best alcoholic shakes that I have ever had. The creme brulee and the cookie dough ones are my favorite. Get one and split it with a friend. The hostesses are always very friendly and accommodating even when large parties come in without warning. Please go visit this restaurant. Their food is very good on top of all of the service being incredible. Above and beyond anything else this location has demonstrated that they are 100% supportive of our veterans and those in need.

Disenchanted with Zinburger. Not as good as I had thought. When I ordered, I told the waiter specifically that I did not want mayo on my burger. When the order came out however, it was the wrong burger (breakfast burger), so we asked to get it changed. Then the second time the order came out, there was mayo on it so we had to get the order taken back again. After waiting almost 30 minutes total, I finally got the right order only to find that the meat (although medium rare) was quite undercooked in some areas. I was told that the meat was cooked per "steak style," however, this made the burger taste quite strange. Service could have been more prompt and we were never checked on by any of the servers, so we had to constantly try to get their attention which was quite difficult. Although I used to like Zinburger, after this experience, I dont think I will frequent again. :(

Quite an upbeat and energetic place. The atmosphere is noisy and there is a lot of foot traffic to get in the way of the TVs provided. Our server was on point, good guy. The food however was a let down. I got the "Burgerpocalypse" ($12). The bread was half soft half hard, spread randomly across it. Falls apart and just feels like you pulled it out of a homeless mans pocket. The whole thing was wet, as if someone had just pulled it out of a dishwasher sans the drying part. I had flashbacks of Red Robin but this time with way more water. The Creme Brulee shake was what youd expect. Also, when paying $12 for a burger youd think fries would come with it but its $5 extra (says its for 2 people, its not). The only thing I really want to stress is how wet the burger was. Seriously no matter how you hold it, its like someone dumped a bottle of water on it.

First impressions were great, its a nice venue and the waiter was initially very attentive and friendly. We had a really good milkshake while waiting for our food. We were told the portions were really big so didnt order any sides, which would have been another $5 on top of a $12 burger. The food that arrived to our table was definitely not a big portion, and it was gross... everything was greasy, even the bun was soggy with grease! Our burgers both had mayo on despite ordering them without. Since no one came by to check on us we thought wed try them, the beef was incredibly bland, and the other toppings were ruined by the mayo. The waiter was nowhere to be found, eventually a young lady cleared our plates without asking what was wrong with the food and brought us the bill. Total waste of money. Definitely wouldnt eat there again.

I stumbled across this hidden gem during my stay at Darden Inn! The customer service was excellent! From the time we walked in till the time we left everyone was extremely attentive and informative. The bartender personally visited our table was extremely enthused around his love for what he does. The drinks were AMAZING. Now the food...the service was quick and the waitress was informative and knowledgeable around the menu items and process of which the food was made. We ordered zuchinni fries and truffle fries for starters and they were great! Our burgers were equally amazing, we had the Breakfast, and the Ringer. The extra $5 for the Kobe was well worth it! I look forward to returning whenever Im in VA.

I came here having high hopes, and left very disappointed. My burger was very wet, and tasteless. How can a burger even be tasteless? I had one of their shakes and it tasted very bland. I loved the sweet potato fries, but they are $5 by themselves and do not come with the burger. There were not that many fries either. The decor itself was nice, I was greeted by a lot of friendly people as I walked in. My waiter was also effective and attentive. Look, I love trying new places to dine at, but this one left me severely disappointed. Boylan Heights and Pasture taste way better. I would not even recommend trying out this place once, it will ruin your fun for the day. Im not even kidding.

This place should have much better reviews than it does. Addressing a specific review here: f you dont want any grease on your food, then dont order a burger is all I can tell you. Zinburger is the best burger joint I have been to in Charlottesville. It is a little pricey, but its not any more pricey than Citizen Burger or other establishments. Sides are expensive, but they are designed to be communal. WONDERFUL MILKSHAKES!!! Great wine selection as well. It is an upscale restaurant, so of course its a little expensive. If you are willing to pay around 10-12 for a gourmet burger, I would recommend Zinburger. If not, go to McDonalds across the parking lot.
