We visited this location this past Friday. The location was stellar with beautiful views of Lake Anna. The food looked reasonably priced, though the steak seemed pricey, but hubby wanted a steak so he was willing to pay the $22 for the NY Strip. I opted for a simple grilled cheese. We got crab dip for an appetizer. The crab dip comes out and its cold. Bad sign. We send it back, the bowl comes out piping hot but the dip is only luke warm, but we just decide to eat it at that point. The crab dip was actually really good, in my opinion. Well, the crab dip turned out to be the highlight of our meal. The steak came out looking beautiful, but one slice determined that my husbands medium steak was actually raw and also cool to the touch. Frustrated, he sends it back to be cooked more thoroughly. Meanwhile, sitting in front of me are 2 pieces of toast, some unmelted cheese with bacon and tomato. It was pretty sad. The side of fruit was fabulous though with fresh cantaloupe, blueberries, pineapple and watermelon. Well here comes hubbys steak, finally cooked to his liking, he takes one bite. Looks at me and says, try this. I have never tasted a more bland piece of meat in my life. It tasted like it had been boiled in water. Couple that with ridiculously bland mashed potatoes and my husband was done. He refused to eat it. Its really sad. This place could be so good. The location is great. The extensive menu and side offerings like the fresh fruit and asparagus were excellent - Id even order the crab dip again, but that steak and the fact that they cant even get the food out cooked properly show this place has alot to learn. Sadly, we werent the only ones experiencing problems. The table behind us had to send a childs burger back for being raw. A RAW burger being served to a child. Its pitiful. We wont be back.

I have been several times and the food is excellent. It has been at capacity every time I have gone they need to expand....this past weekend had to wait about 20 minutes. Wasnt so excited about the wait they only have about 35 seats. The ambiance is ok the tent they had was falling apart but this year they got a new one. They also built an outdoor bar that really helps liven it up a bit. Last visit had the crab cakes (about as good as Ive ever had but not cheap $25!). Wife had the Chicken Caeser wrap with fries she wasnt jumping for joy but said it was good. Steve and Ellen both had ribs and said they were excellent. Most everyone got very good, if not buttery, asparagus for a side and a few of us had pasta salad that was good but nothing special. We also had steamed shrimp as an appetizer and they spice it just right. We ordered a second dozen after polishing off the first one. Steve and Ellen loved it and cant wait to come back. Also.....you cant go wrong with the view. Its a bonus that the food is great, I dont expect much at waterfront restaurants. They certainly could use some more attractive/spunky waitresses though....

I visited this restaurant August 27, 2017. There was 5 other families that were also being served and ALL of the staff were very stressed and overwhelmed. I used the bathroom and a fellow customer knocked on the door several times and was extremely rude while I was in the bathroom. The service was terrible. They were out of plates and forks. They wanted me to use bowls to eat my wings. The server then told me to reuse my dirty fork for my entree. While in the middle of dessert the server then gave us our check when we were clearly not ready to leave, then basically stalked us until we payed. She then announced to us when we FINALLY gave her the check, "Thank you, I can finally go home now" were her exact words. I will not be returning. For me to post this I had to rate one star, theyre not even worthy of one star. :)

I was disappointed to find out that although this restaurant has outdoor seating, they are NOT pet friendly. Update: In response to the owners response (below) regarding VA Law regarding pets at restaurants: VA c5-421-3310 number 6 states dogs are allowed in outdoor dining areas when special provisions are made by the restaurant. There are numerous restaurants that allow dogs outside throughout the state. It is a choice. Source: virginia.gov/healthdepartment

Have been wanting to try out this place for awhile now. Went this past weekend with a large party. The place was deserted. The waitress became visibly irritated when asked to separate the orders by family to facilitate separate checks. The food portions were tiny for the price you pay and the overall food quality was marginal at best. The kitchen staff was lounging around inside when some of our party went to use the restroom. Will not go here again.

Atmosphere is great, waitress and chef/owner know how to make you feel at home, and want to return. Breakfast is breakfast, and anyone can make eggs, breakfast tacos, potatoes, etc, and they were very good, but their personalities left me looking forward to bringing my wife back for dinner in the near future! Nice lake view, as well!

Saw the not so great review and decided to try it out myself...glad I did. The service is great and so is the food! I had the crab cake sandwich and a shrimp cocktail along w/ the house salad and it was all excellent. Bob Dunlop

Great service at Anna Cabana. This is their off season so it may not be like this during the summer. The food was delicious, we were in a large group and every one was pleased with their experience. I would definitely recommend.

Access by boat. Fantastic sandwiches. Good service. Many beer, wine and cocktail selections. Live entertainment on the deck when we were there on Labor Day. Triple Pork sandwich (pulled pork, ham & bacon) is excellent!!
