If I could give I negative # of stars, I would. I used to BE a mgr. there and did NOT run that store the way it is run now. My son went inside to order since he is very aware of drive-thru times and we did NOT know what we wanted but we KNEW we wanted Krystals! Weve moved to Blountville & there isnt one immediately close by. Sure didnt get any Krystals. The ONLY cashier was a member of the mgmt. team as she was wearing a striped shirt but the MOD was sitting in the office the ENTIRE TIME my son stood at the frt. counter WHICH WAS IN EXCESS OF TEN MINUTES (WE TIMED IT BECAUSE HE CALLED TO SEE WHAT I WANTED AND READ ME THE CURRENT MENU). NO ONE SPOKE TO HIM. He was NEVER waited on; never so much as spoken to. My son used to come in at night and CLEAN YOUR CARPETS!!! He knows how a restaurant, albeit not only fast food, but of ANY type is to be run BUT the ONLY operational cash register was the one on drive-thru & was NOT entirely operational as it had no printer paper OR the printer wasnt working which was the excuse for the mgr. not coming out of the office. A gentleman needed a receipt for having used his credit card & the mgr HAND WROTE HIM ONE!!! I dont know that he ever got a receipt and few people pay in cash these days. Many places will CLOSE when unable to run credit cards as customers want to KNOW how much theyve spent when they keep their budgets & accting. This guy was traveling form Ala. & REALLY WANTED KRYSTALS also but he left, as well. He is in the process of driving from that store to a BBQ place in Blountville where my son now works as he recommend it to the gentlemen & he agreed he would also leave & go there to dine this evening. I had my heart set on Krystals but after waiting that long, never even being addressed and vehemently attempting to get someones attention INCLUDING TO ASK FOR THE MGR. (at which point the striped shirt cashier did NOT bother to ask why he wanted to know the mgrs name). He told her hed never been so much as spoken to and her response was to say, "Oh, Im so sorry! I thought youd been waited on." By WHOM? There was NO ONE ELSE THERE!!! She was the ONLY cashier on duty, mgr. still sat in the office, STILL unable to print receipts, and cook wiping down counters with TRAY LINERS!!! So who wouldve taken his order? An imaginary cashier who just happened to arrive, take JUST MY SONS order & duck back out before being seen? OMG! What has happened to Krystals? Penny left, I know. Kim left as did obviously everyone else with whom I worked. Nonetheless, at least what is called the Kingsport store seemed semi-caring the last time we went there so I suppose if we want Krystals well go out of our way to get it but it wont be often. I no longer eat at the Johnson City store due to the obvious filth and stench. The managers all seem to come from the same set of stables; greasy haired, pot bellied, buttons straining not to pop off, you clearly have no professional help any longer. Im sad. I have a penchant for Krystals as it is where my father, deceased now 45 yrs., frequented the restaurant in the same city down south when wed vacation in Fla. at Christmas. We didnt have a Krystals locally until the early 90s. I am not positive of the date but was in the door during the first week open. I hate this. I hate to see the stores so run down. Management, I know, like good employees in fast food are difficult to come by but someone has got to set the bar a bit higher. The only reason you still have any business at all, is due to 3rd shift but I suspect you already know that. Raise the bar; hire some better people & REMIND them customer service COMES FIRST. No customers, NO job! No service, no customers. And around it goes. Good luck!

I want to start this review off by saying that I have never been compelled to leave a bad review for any kind of establishment before. Secondly, my friends and I are some of the least picky gentlemen around (aka it really doesnt take much to please us). My friend and I split a Krystal Combo which included 6 sliders a piece as well as a medium fry and drink. To start off our experience the meal, which was advertised as $13.99, costed over $18 and we really werent sure why. We asked the cashier for a receipt but were told that the computer used did not print receipts. Sketchy. But we decided to sit down and give it a go anyway. Our burgers were brought to us in a heroic fashion, perched upright in individual boxes atop a plastic tray. Nice touch. Inspecting the burger, we noticed that they were borderline soaked in grease or water or some kind of liquid and the meat was of gray tint. These burgers are obviously cooked in some form of microwave oven and that is absolutely unacceptable. Do not spend your money here. What a true let down it really was.

this crystal is so bad dont deserve one star its not vey clean the burgers and chicks sometimes raw and the buns they use are wet and soggy most the time making the food nasty, the food keeps changing getting rid of the good stuff and keeping yucky stuff,i hate taco johns food across the street but id prefer eat there instead of here anytime and its new and clean and will have nice fresh clean cool air, this store dont have air for over a month now they say they have air in front the store but its still hot in side eating they seriously need new management and people to run it proper, and late in evenings and at night i see employees just hanging outside with their friends and family that come over smoking and taking big breaks when they getting paid to work could be cleaning the store or bathrooms and all but instead they just be lazy,i am not happy at all with this store and will not be back. in the future i hope they do major improvement to the store and workers.

Sloppily made food. Lukewarm at best. Stale fries. You get the idea. They also keep cutting back on their closing time. It used to be open 24 hours all the time, then just on Saturday but they stayed open until 3 AM other nights. Now they usually close at midnight during the week. For the quality of their food, its priced way too high. You have to be awfully desperate to eat from here. The service is fine, its just that the food is really crappy. It used to be quite decent for the first few years of being open. I came to Google to check out the closing time, since it normally should be open right now, as I am desperate for a late night snack, but they closed two hours ago as of writing this. Maybe its a sign from the burger gods? Take heed, folks!

The food quality is awful. I have been served raw chicken, under cooked burgers, and under cooked fries over the course of several visits. My coworkers that have eaten here have gotten sick from the food, been served raw chicken like I was, or had to wait nearly 10 minutes just for a cup of coffee. We all avoid eating the food from this place now due to the awful service and would strongly recommend that everyone else in the area take their business elsewhere also.
