Ive been to this Shilla Bakery for years now. Like everyone else, I enjoy their assortment of baked goods, desserts, cakes, bingsoos, and drinks. They usually have lots of samples to try and everything is decently priced and yummy enough. Every year for my parents birthdays or mine, I get a cake here (or from nearby Breeze Bakery). The cakes are also good. I like Asian cakes (mousse/chiffon/sponge/cream cakes with fruit toppers) much more than American cakes with their overly artificial flavors. Asian cakes are much lighter and dont have that sweet artifical flavoring, which agrees with my sadly slowing metabolism these last few years. Shilla makes chocolate chiffon, yellow sponge, green tea, chocolate cream, etc - most of them have strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, raspberries, and other fruits on top. They even make cakes shaped like pig faces, roses, and other cute shapes and figures. And if you tell them its for a birthday, theyll put the cake into a nice, sturdy box, throw in a plastic knife, and some tall candles for you. A bit expensive for a cake (ranging around ~$19-30 depending on which cake you get), but I rather get one of these cakes than your typical American grocery store-bought sheet cake. Now, the bingsoos. I discovered bingsoos here and really liked their assortment of various bingsoos. My favorite is probably green tea (Im a green tea addict), but the yogurt, strawberry, and red bean are all good too. As for boba, Im not really a big fan of their boba because its not really boba to me, its more like frozen slushies. I like my bobas to be the traditional liquid bubble tea with tapoica, not frozen. These bobas do not hold a candle to the ones in Rockville and certainly are no rivals to those in California. I will say that I did enjoy my green tea latte though. One thing I highly do not recommend eating is their macarons. I ate two out of curiosity and boy was that a mistake! The macarons were hard, the outershell separates, and they tasted stale. UGHH do not eat these! One significant drawback to this Shilla is that it gets pretty busy in the evenings and on weekends - understandably since its one of the only places open past 10pm on weekdays in the DC suburbs. Driving in this small plaza is sometimes a nightmare when it gets really busy, so I try not to go when its "rush hour" here. 3.5 stars. Worth coming back every now and then to get some goodies and meet up with friends.

I dont go there anymore due to the their worse service ...bye bye

If I go back again, I would try something else other than the shaved ice. Ive been here couple times and I always ended up having the shaved ice with green tea ice cream and their homemade mochi because I was always full when I go and I just share it with my friends. I think I am not really a big fan of shaved ice. I usually shove them away and go for the ice cream and mochi. They are pretty awesome. The cake and other baked goods they have look amazing but i never got a chance to get them. The macaroons however were a disappointment. I thought I was biting rocks coated with sugar. But I let it slide just because it was late at night and the poor macaroons probably have sat there all day already. Parking is not bad at night. Its almost always crowded but I always manage to find an open spot :)

Do not expect any kind of service here whether you are Korean or not.! Period! i often come this place to pick up snacks since they are priced and tasty. However, i always regret the fact that i came here again after experiencing the whole payment process. They do not smile and do not talk back to you, and do not listen to you. They do not even do eye contact. I cant believe that the whole staffs working here are all rude.... Usually some people are rude and some are nice. Not here... I have been to this place for past couple years, and had not seen any kind people and has not seen them greeting any customer.. it is not about the Korean or not.. They are all rude for all the purple....sigh.. I will not come back to this place ever again since there are some other nice Korean bakery s as well

Love the bread, coffee and desserts here, but the lady working the cashier is sooo rude! let me describe her: short black hair, about mid neck length. she looks like she is in her mid to late 40s. she has a very obvious and strong double eyelid. very white skin. her black hair is so black, it is obviously dyed often. i could not believe how rude she was, in the way she talked, and when i asked her if any yogurt was left, she said NO! and just does a 180 degree turn and scurries away. i go here often, and know that she has worked there for quite some time. SHILLA do something about her! or my business will go to many of the OTHER bakeries in Annandale.

Im addicted to this place already. Some desserts might be in the too simple in taste for my personal taste hehe My favorites are: Tiramisu Bing Soo (I need to try the Mocha with caramel for sure) Most of their breads, (sticky rice, cream cheese, garlic, they are al so good) The Strawberry Shortcake, just like the tiramisu great flavors and not overly sweet like most of the bakeries Ive been to in NoVa Im not fond of the donuts, a bit too greasy to my taste, but thats about one of the only things Im not crazy about Shilla. NEXT: need to try the frozen yogurt and bubble teas!

They sell old cake! One should not do what troubles ones conscience...

This place had been here forever! Been coming here since child hood and it is busier now than ever. Used to be a student hang out but now its an older crowd, almost touristy. Pastries usually are always fresh but it is definitely pricey compare to other just as great Korean bakeries. They used to have samples of almost everything but today, absolutely no samples. I think they are raising the prices and trying to save cost. There is wifi but they covered all their outlets so you cant charge anything here. Just too bad, almost perfect!
