We were originally trying to go to Taqueria el Poblana for dinner, but unluckily for us, their credit card machine broke. So wandering down Mount Vernon Street, we happened upon Del Ray Pizzeria and decided to go ahead and try it. We ordered the pan (12 in) no spaghetti pizza, which has bolognese, mozzarella, parmesan, mushrooms, and spinach. A 12 inch pizza is $17. The thin 10 inch is $14 and the thin 14 inch is $19. They also have a 10" gluten free option thats $14. Theres over 20 different choices for specialty pizzas or you can build your own. They make their own dough and sauces here, and all the meats and sausages are apparently ground in house. They also have non-pizza items like various salads, calamari, nachos, wings, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, ravioli, and more. I thought the no spaghetti pizza was decent, although I really would have preferred more spinach. But I like the doughiness and it really did taste like spaghetti and meatballs, sans the spaghetti. DRP is an easy and satisfying place to get your pizza game on. They also have a bar and serve over 70 different beers, focusing on American craft beers. Their weekday happy hour (4-7pm) special is $2 off all appetizers and draft beers.

Went there on a Friday a little after 6ish, prime dinner time. My party of three was seated very quickly in the bar area and we were waited on by the bartender. He was super-helpful with helping us decide what kind of beer to order and gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted -- not pushy at all. We started with an order of wings; half grilled jerk (a dry rub), and half barbecue. Im not generally a fan of dry rubs, but this one was very tasty. For dinner, my wife and I split a large hot chicken pizza (red sauce, crispy shallots, pickles, mozzarella, and chicken). It was absolutely delicious! I wasnt sure of how well Id like PICKLES on my pizza, but it worked very, very well. My friend ordered the hot chicken sandwich and loved it just as much as I loved the pizza. The service was fantastic. The bartender and food runner both stopped by to check on us from time to time; not TOO often, though. The prices were just a LITTLE higher than I would expect, but still well within reason. I highly recommend Del Rey Pizza. Fantastic experience.

My experience with DRP is limited to takeout. Ive ordered ahead and picked up but a few times Ive ordered while sitting at the bar. Theres no drink menu but the bartenders will do their best to make any drink concoction you want because they have the liquor! Tried so far: Jerk chicken wings - my boyfriend was a fan. I tried one and now Im addicted Old Bay wings- HOLY LORD THESE ARE PERFECT Fish and chips - a new take on a classic. The serving size is huge! Pizza - I am a bread lover, so the deep dish here ARE DELECTABLE. But if youre not a bread lover it may be too much, just go with regular crust. The tomato, spinach, chicken, and cheese pizza is a personal favorite. Sandwiches- I highly recommend the bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and CHICKEN sandwich. Nix the onions and mayo and get fruit on the side for a healthy dish.

Stopped by as we were hungy for some pizza. Had the thin crust Maui Wowie and it was pretty good. I like my thin crusts to be a bit more crispy than it came out as and if I was rating strictly on the food I would have given it 4-stars. The 5-star rating comes from the excellent customer service. There was a slight problem with our order (we had ordered it pan-style) and we decided that it wasnt worth getting a replacement (I prefer thin anyway). The manager offered to send us home with our original order. We declined. At that point, he offered us dessert. Which we accepted. Dessert was their fried-oreos. Awesome! Lots of different pizzas to try, so they have gained some future business from us with their customer service.

Nothing was right. I asked for no olives on the pizza and got extra olives. I asked for sugar on the rim of the margerita, and got nothing but a lime wedge. I asked for extra sauce on the replacement pizza the waiter offered to remedy the bad pizza with olives covering it, and got a pinch of watered down tomato sauce, so little that the pizza resembled more of a cheesy bread than pizza. The spicy wings were very good, however, and the waiter was very good and embarrassed, and gave me a small thin crust at no charge. The thin crust was burnt on the bottom. It seemed whoever is responsible for cooking and putting the stuff together was not doing a good job and couldnt read the orders. I will not be going back. 1/5

Just stopped in for a beer and a sandwich on a Saturday afternoon. The beer selection was good and very reasonable for high quality micro-brews on draft. The sandwich was a grilled chicken with baby greens and a sauce which was actually quite a bit better then how it sounded on the menu. The service and overall feel were okay: nothing special (the bar tender would have got a third beer out of me if he had been more attentive) but nothing to overly complain about either. The crowd was a mix of families and younger people watching games, sort of a family sports bar. I didnt have a pizza but they looked good and my bar neighbors liked theirs. Ill certainly be back.

This is in regards to their new location in Del Rey. We got take out. A Duck Reuben and a 14" Barack My World pizza. The pizza was $19 and it was tasty, but it isnt a good value at $19. Not when I could go to Whole Foods and get two larger pizzas for $20. My wife said the reuben was good, but it was kinda small and was on standard sandwich bread and not the typically larger deli bread. I can see these prices justified in Del Rey, but not down in belle view, especially not where there location is.

I wish I could give DRP 3.5 stars. The first two meals I had here were fantastic. They have a great beer selection and the pizza I had was great. The third time I went, I was sad to learn the pizza I had enjoyed the past two visits was a special offering and no longer available on the regular menu. I chose a different pizza that sounded appealing and was very disappointed. It wasnt only average, it was bad. That said, I would certainly go back and try something new again.

We live in Del Ray and we so excited when this place opened! We have been several times hoping things would improve, but sadly they dont it just gets worse each time we go! The dough is never cooked enough ( deep dish or regular), the cheese is never brown, they really need to leave the pizzas in for a bit longer. Do yourself a favor and go to expensive Homemade Pizza down the street and cook at home, it will be the same price but more more delicious!

Love this place. The tropic thunder pizza is my absolute favorite. The pan pizza has crust that is thick and crispy, yet soft and doughy on the inside. The rotating list of appetizer salads have always been great, as well as the wings. They have a nice selection of beer as well. The atmosphere is quaint, but it can be loud at times. Outdoor seating is great for those with pets.
