My boyfriend and I drove from NJ to Washington to try authentic Eritrean food. We have tried at least 3 other resraurants and so far Aurora Cafe has quite met our expectations food wise. My boyfriend is from Eritrea and I have tried all of his recepies. This places has the best Enjera so far. The texture and the sourness is on point. The macciato (coffee) is soooo good. The place was a bit quiet. A little bit of music would be great.

Auroras Signature (espresso with Kahlua) is delicious - it wasnt bitter or overly strong, but a nice balance with the slight sweetness from the Kahlua. I would love to come back and try out their dishes, though, like the Qlwa (Chefs Special) or their breakfasts (such as the Fuul that I was recently tried out at another Ethiopian place). They serve both Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine, and they are also known for their pasta dishes!

Arora is one of the best places to have authentic habesha (Ethiopian & Eritrian) food. I love their breakfast menu particulary. The spicy hot tea is also one of my favorites. Though the place is a little compact, the food is worth everything.

The service was great. Large coffee selection. I had their Americano and it was really good. I went there for breakfast early Sunday morning. The food was good. I tried breakfast combo. A bit exotic for my taste, but good.
