Dont be deceived by its name. It sounded homey and seemed like it had to have great breakfasts. Three out of four of us had a bacon,egg and cheddar cheese sandwich. The cheese was flavorless, almost tasting like and having the texture of a mozzarella. The hash browns were inedible. For starters, the potatoes had grains of dirt in them, clearly not properly washed. They were boiled, sliced, barely browned and very dry, by far the worst wed ever eaten. They offered to top off our coffee about a minute after serving them to us, and when we were ready to have more, it was impossible to get their attention. The place could also use a real good cleaning. We wouldnt go back. (Not inexpensive either, as breakfasts go.)

Best breakfast from a locals perspective. Lunch is real good too! Such creative cuisine - not what youd expect from the outside looking in. My expectations are exceeded every time. My favorite is the cilantro omelette. Consistently delicious - fresh ingedients, generous servings and convivial atmosphere. This is Vermont in its most genuine state. Expect it to be busy - the secret is out that The Hatchery is a top pick with locals and away-folk alike.

The hostess (with the white glasses) at this place is a dimwit. Refused my family a table because our entire party was not present. We had an 8 month old in the car to make sure we could get a table and we were parked right outside the door. Gave the table to the party right behind us. Rude and unfriendly. Find a better place.

Pretty excellent breakfast. Food is fresh, interesting, and well prepared. Pancakes are decent but not outstanding; egg dishes are their strong suit. Fresh squeezed daily juice hits the spot. Service is friendly and efficient. Long lines and cash only policy are a doozie.

Food is good breakfast diner food. Service was good. I had biscuits and gravy. My better half had the western omelette. Loved the accent of scallions to the gravy. I would recommend this place for a quick breakfast and a local feel.

Loved the food. The Vermonster hit the spot. What a wonderful sandwich. My aunt ordered the French toast and for someone that eats like a bird she left nothing but crumbs. We will visit again next time in Ludlow.

They have fresh-squeezed orange juice! Coffee is great and the food was very very good. We were seated right away but there was a pretty good line right after us. Great place. We will definitely come back.

The Homefries Poutine is off the charts. Some people eat to live while others live to eat. If you associate with the latter then its going to be a life changing experience for you. Honestly A+

Love coming to the Hatchery for breakfast. I would suggest any of their omletes as they are so tasty! Sunday mornings are pretty hard to get in, so I would suggest a weekday.
