I just got back from have an early dinner there, and not only was it delicious but the decor was lovely and the waiter was extremely kind to us. My friend and I got the thali platter, which comes with lentil soup, chicken curry, lamb stew, cardamon rice pudding, pickled veggies, rice and a mango lassi. We shared this platter and it was plenty for the both of us! We order a second plate of rice simply because we didnt want to share the rice. We also ordered the aloo chat, these potato croquettes are delicious! A rare find in Vermont! We ordered everything spicy and boy was i pleasantly surprised, it is hard to get my personal preference for spicy food, but they did it well!. Its a good kind of burn, that gives you what my friend and i call spicy belly. An all over warm belly feeling that leads to having a 2 hour cat nap. Now I dont mean to offend but most white people cannot taste the subtle differences of spicy food. They tend to think of it as one singular flavor, which is a problem because living in Vermont everything is too bland for this Hispanic girl. This place does spice right, it is spicy but has depth to back it up. All the while the meat is succulent and moist. The rice pudding saw not sweet which was great because it let the cardamon flavor stand out. The lentil soup was understated and simple, this meal was truly about letting the spice be the star of the show. Now they do have a "regular" level of spice so they can cater to you if you dont like spice, but trust me your missing out! Everything was great, definitely going back!

We had great Momos that were home made and were quite filling. We then had a combination-meat noodle soup that we shared at the advice of the excellent waiters who didnt want us to "stuff ourselves" and pay for food we wouldnt eat (not pushy like most restaurants where they want you order more than you can eat and then take the cold food home!!). We had good glasses of California red wine with our meal that was very reasonably priced. The entire atmosphere was very un-stressy which is rare in restaurants these days where all they want to do is push you in out like a fast food joint. Next time we plan to try the curry dishes (which from my last visit to Nepal reminded me of more simple versions of the rich Indian cuisine either North or South). Many reviews talk of comparing it to "Indian" restaurants but that is NOT the reason to come to a Nepali-Bhutanese-Tibetan + (Indo-Chinese inspired) place. I would urge diners to read some articles on Himalayan food before they come here. The fare is simple "mountain inspired" food with robust warm winter soups and other food from lowland cultures down the Himalayan slopes. All rugged Vermonters will love this place!! We will be back!!

Better than Indian! Sherpa kitchen combines local ingredient sourcing with a traditional tibetan menu. Even if you are unfamiliar with this kind of food, you will find something that you like. Best appetizers are Somoasa Chat & Vegetable Pakora. Best Entrees are Chicken Tika Masala, Chow Mein (Sautéed Noodles) and Saag Paneer (vegetarian) - make sure to order a side of Roti bread (like naan) and Batsu Maku for desert (I have never been able to find a desert like this - even searching online).

Best trip surprise ever!!! We were heading back to Canada from our weekend trip and decided to stop in Burlington to have lunch. Luckily we parked right in front of this place and we decided to try it. We are lovers of Indian food and this was a blessing to our taste buds! Even my picky 3yo daughter ate the lamb dish and finished it all! Great presentation, cozy ambient, nice staff, great pricing and delicious food! We couldnt ask for more!

This is NOT a place to have Indian or Nepali food at all. I cant believe how it has been rated 4+. Mainly because its the nearest available Indian/Nepali joint to harbor. We ordered chicken chilly, momos, samosa chat, chicken saaf and plain roti out of which we could only feel good about momos. Rotis served were actually frozen Malaysian bread and they are selling it as Indian/Nepali roti. Worst Indian food ever!!

Fairly typical Nepalese take on the typical array of Indian food with a few items of more traditional Chinese descent. Well prepared in a comfortable atmosphere with friendly, though slow when busy, service. Large portions are provided for the price, making for an excellent deal. My only complaint was my stew was very salty, though the other four dishes at my table had no issues.

Ive been a fan of their food at the Burlington Farmers Market for many years. This was my first time to lunch at the restaurant. Its not quite the way it is at the market (or was). Still, the food is tasty and its a great value at $8.99 for drink/app/entree. I wish they had the same sauces for the Momos as they do at the FM though.

The lunch deal is amazing, with $10 (including tip) for appetizer, entree, and drink. The food is always great, and the presentation makes me feel like I got lost and got the food from a much pricier place, down to the peas strategically perched on each mound of rice. The staff are warm and inviting, as well. Love this place.

Good food. I love the lamb bindaloo, pakora and mango lassi here. It always tastes the same, I am not sure how the chefs manage to get the same taste every day. Samosa chat, saag paneer are also great. Wait time is little long, so be prepared to spend atleast 1.5 hours for your dining. Ambiance, service are good.

No restaurant in Burlington has great Indian food. Sherpa Kitchen is the best option - fair, but not great food. Restaurant appears to be fairly new - still very clean. Service (on a night that was quiet) was excellent. Food was spicy (good) - but didnt have a lot of depth to the flavor.

Awesome small restaurant - unassuming and charming! Food was outstanding with well defined flavours and nothing over-the-top about the dishes. Appropriately sized portions at a great price and not to mention Heady Topper readily available! Will be back next time in Burlington!

We had a combination Mo Mo and let me you tell you it will not dissapoint! The chicken and beef were so juicy. The tomato sauce they serve it in is like the base of a tikka masala. Big pieces and worth the $12 as there were 6 each of the chicken and beef.

I tried all of the Indian brunch buffets in town and this one is easily the best. $12 all you can eat and the food is amazing! At lunch time they also have a great lunch special, $10 includes an appetizer, drink, and entree.

Nothing outstanding, but best place in Burlington to have Indian Food. We tried Aaloo Matter with Roti. It was very mild on Medium spice level. Do try there Aaloo Chat. Very nice and authentic Indian Taste.

Great alternative in downtown Burlington. Intimate location on College St. Parking is metered. Not usually a wait, but can get crowded. Menu is exotic and great for groups. Highly recommended!!

If you expect to get authentic Indian food its not the place for you. Weve been there and being very well aware of Indian cuisine i didnt like the food that much. Ambiance and service was good.
