I had a terrible experience at the Sandy, UT store last night (3/3/13). I walked in with my girlfriend at just before 6pm and saw about 5 parties waiting to be seated. I was told the wait was going to be 20-25 minutes. It ended up being a 30 minute wait, which is understandable on a Sunday evening, but the problem is, I could see EIGHT empty tables that werent being sat. A little frustrating to see when youre waiting so long. I asked one of the 3 hostesses that were standing around if they were short a server, and I got a reply about someone hurting an ankle or something. Finally we were sat, and it was another 5 minutes before we even got waters...and TWENTY minutes before we got the complimentary bread. I can see not spreading the servers thin with extra tables in the available section IF they still provide timely and expected service at their existing tables. The dinner was long and drawn out for the two of us, almost 2 hours to just eat an entree and leave. I did still tip 18% because I knew it wasnt our servers fault, but a management issue. On top of the waiting, my girl friend ordered the seafood mixed grill and what was brought out was embarrassing. It was a third of a portion of fish, three scallops, vegetables and one shrimp. ONE SHRIMP! The problem was, that plate cost $16. The poorest valued entree I may have ever bought in a restaurant. The whole dinner experience was frustrating, and Id have a hard time not just recommending this location to friends, but Id have to go out of my way to not say something negative about it.

this used to be a great chain place that you could count on for a great seasoned steak, whether you were in Utah or CA and we went often. I just started going downhill. Prices clear up, food sub par. We used to go consistently. Three strikes you are out. About three years ago we took our son. We are eating and there is a giant metal bolt in his mashed potatoes and the guy says causally.. we lost that off our mixer. He comped his meal. okay a perfect mistake and he didnt break his teeth. Next year we decide to try again. I got the seafood platter and will use that term loosely. It was more like a pc of fish the size of one chicken nugget and like three shrimp. Didnt go for a year. Went about three weeks ago thinking it cant be bad, used to be so good! Wrong---steak shriveled and very small, tough, ordered medium well, no pink whatsoever. For the price they could throw some broccoli or something on the plate so it looked like there really was a dinner. Not going back, a total disappointment. Sorry to write this, but if you dont do something quickly, i see you closing down! I would rather go to McDonalds for a big mac. Oh by the way, I forgot to mention the hair my my steak.

I love the Outback and I am surprised at the bad reviews and it is because of them I thought I needed to tell of our experiences at the Outback. It is one of our favorite restaurants. We usually find ourselves there on a weekend and it is busy. We feel that it is well worth the wait. Many times while we are waiting they have a person that will give us a taste of something that they serve. The waiters or waitresses have been very attentive and courteous. We are going there tonight because we find that our meal is consistent and a high value. We usually get a baked potato and a salad included with our meal and other steakhouses charge extra for one or even both. I read the reviews because I was getting the number to call ahead and not have to wait as long. It is amazing how things workout well when you plan ahead. I get tired of self entitled people that try to ruin the reputations of a great business online because everything isnt perfect or they arent able to manipulate the business to give them everything they feel they are entitled to. We enjoy this place and I feel that others needed to hear the other side of the story, because myself and many others love and appreciate this place.

Weve only been to this restaurant twice, but it was much better the second time. The first time we went my wife didnt enjoy the seasoning they put on the steaks, but she asked them to tone it down the second time and she said it was much better. Thats personal preference, of course. The meat was cooked correctly the way we ordered it and when my son ordered the kids ribs and they were out they offered us free dessert for our children. It was a nice gesture and apparently unnecessary because they still brought out ribs for my son. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad (approximate name) and I asked for more wasabi because I felt like it needed a little more kick. I also would have preferred some soy sauce or some sort of sauce because the dressing that was on the salad wasnt enough by itself. I probably wont order it again, but I might be interested in trying something else. We had crossed this restaurant off our list after the first time, but my brother gave us a gift certificate to eat here for Christmas. Now that weve given it another shot it will be a place we consider in the future.

My son took me to this restaurant for my birthday and I was disappointed. I ordered a 10 oz rib eye that was so thin you could read through it! They had not even tried to dress the plate...just my tiny steak on a plate all by itself! No parsley, no onion straws, no radish rose, nada! FOR $22! The garlic potatoes had no hint of garlic, tasted like they had been made for three days, were grey in color, and cold! And again - plopped on a plate! The mushrooms were CANNED in a tiny bowl with a squirt of Worcestershire - from a STEAK HOUSE? My son ordered a prime rib dip sandwich. Tiny and short on meat and, you guessed it, plopped all alone on a plate. To be fair, the salads - one a pecan and blue cheese chopped and the other a blue cheese wedge - were both tasty, but not enough to save THIS meal. The bill with tip was $80 for two. A giant RIPOFF and service was lousy on top of the bad food! I am stunned this place is so busy! If you want good food GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! We will.

This is the 3rd time weve been to this location and had problems. My father came in town and wanted to take us out to eat for my daughters birthday. To start off the waiter was "completely confused" - his words, when taking our order. I asked about the salad that was suppose to come with my dish because he failed to ask what type I wanted. Once we got our meals all 4 steak plates and the lamb plate were under cooked! One of the plates belonged to my 5 year old daughter. The only thing they managed to get correct was the mac & cheese for my son. We had to wait for steaks to be recooked and when the manager brought them back she just apologized. Once we received our bill they did not take anything off... $120 for steaks that you couldnt cook correctly and then you cant take anything off the bill REALLY?!?!?! We will definitely stick with Texas Road House! They have better prices and ALWAYS get out steaks cooked perfectly.
