Its literally sickening knowing we dropped $100 on our order alone for below par food and snobby service. Would not recommend, you will get exceptionally better food at La Jolla Groves for a fraction of the price. Even the best seafood restaurants in California are priced below this place! We looked forward to coming here and having a great birthday experience with the whole family, prepared to pay the expensive prices because we expected the food to be amazing and delicious in every way. As soon as our waiter realized we had no idea what fancy dishes he was talking about, and were interested in something a little less extravagant than his $38 and $50 per plate off-the-menu house specials, he simply did not come back and had to be flagged down to fill our drinks, bring bread, answer questions, yet he still made a killing in tips. He talked up the food and appetizers, but no matter what we ordered it came out below expectation. Jumbo onion rings were worst wed ever had—five for $7, came out cold, falling apart, and flavorless; if you tried to put the vinegar they suggested on it, the flavor was overpowering. Salads were plain lettuce thrown on the plate with no seasoning and plain dressing. Our seafood that they brag about being fresh and flavorful was masked by frying, small in portion, and nothing below $20! We waited an hour and half for 5 fried pieces of shrimp and a handful of fried scallops! Other family members had mistakes on their orders and a $30 steak had to be sent back 4 times because it was not cooked properly. Will not be coming back, and hope this place increases the quality of their food and service if theyre going to charge premium much for it or go out of business.

I absolutely love Market Street Grill in Cottonwood or in Downtown. This location has poor service, the food quality is not the same as the other locations and all in all its worth your gas to drive to Cottonwood or Downtown. I have been to this location 3 times hoping to be proven wrong and every time I am disappointed with it all. This most recent time (today for my birthday lunch) the server brought out soup instead of my ordered salad, asked if I wanted to have pepper on it and picked up the pepper shaker from my table instead of the customary grinder, we ordered calamari and he brought it out with no sauce, I asked for a specific dish that I love and he brought out something completely different that what I had ordered, then when I returned the dish because it wasnt the same thing-he said that they no longer offer that (which could be true since they have varying specials), I ordered the chicken and shrimp curry and waited an additional 20 mins for a new meal and the curry came out in a soup boat with no rice. At this point my lunch had taken over 1.5 hours and I hadnt even eaten my dish yet. I requested to speak to the manager that only removed my meal from the check and didnt offer to comp my friends check who had to eat her lunch without me. The manager noticed that there was no rice and said that this was not the presentation for this dish. I had to have the meal remade again just boxed it to go since it was another 10 mins. Needless to say, not a meal worth 60 for lunch. I will not be returning to this location.

My family has been frequenting the Gastronomy chain of restaurants since the early 90s, and each location has its unique charm and atmosphere. The South Jordan location isnt our favorite, but it is only because of its location. The food and service is comparable to every other location, but sitting in the Oyster Bar (which is our preference) is always pleasant. We have also lived in San Fransisco and San Diego California where there hasnt been one fine dining experience we have overlooked. Though not as good (or as expensive) as the best of the best in California, you definitely get what you pay for at the Market Street restaurants. I have only had a few bad experiences with servers, but nothing even close to as bad as I have read here. I can only guess those people were very unlucky. The only places comparable in the Salt Lake area are the Tuscany, La Caille and the Chefs Table in Provo. Carrabas Italian Grill in Orem is also a very good option. Edit: Over the years theyve changed their menu enough that the quality simply isnt reliable enough to warrant a visit. 5 to 3 stars :/

I love Market Street. Its one of the more solid restaurants in Slat Lake. I love seafood, and the other options pale in comparison unless youre heading downtown to Current. Otherwise, stay away from the Joes Crabshacks, MacGraths Fish Houses and Red Lobsters. Market Street is awesome. The service is always on point. All three locations create the feeling like youre by the beach as opposed to landlocked Utah. If youre feeling a little Mad Men-ish you can fill up on oysters a la cart, or go for a steampot. They have it all in the highest quality. I feel some may focus on the pricing here and how it tends to be a little higher, but if you come for lunch, they have some good dishes for between 13 and 20 bucks. So theres something for everyone. Unless youre balling, probably not a place to take kids. This can be cool corporate lunch place, or a date night with the wife. I think theyve got all their bases covered. I highly recommend this, or either of the other two Market Street locations. Ive yet to have a bad experience there.

We arrived at six and they said it would twenty minutes then they would come and get us from the bar area. After an hour we went to see why we were not seated yet. They said the hostess never got our phone number to text us. They apologized then tried to put us at a table but we requested a.booth. We had to wait longer for a booth. The area was really noisy and echoes everywhere. The waitress talked me into mahi mahi then came back thirty minutes later stating she was sorry but they were out of mahi mahi. I asked why would you suggest it if you were out and why did it take thirty minutes to come and let us know. I then ordered a steak that came out dry and tasteless. This was my birthday dinner and it was not a good night at least here. We will not be back and if you want a good meal dont come here.

Being a Market Street lover for over 25 years when my husband asked where we wanted to celebrate Mothers Day absolutely at Market Street Grill. We usually go to the one in Cottonwood Heights but went to the one in South Jordan this time. I can honestly say in 25 years it was the absolute worst meal I have ever eaten at a Market Street restaurant. Out of six people the only two they enjoyed their meal with my two small grandsons. We took our meals home in a box hoping that we could maybe season them up and eat them later. Nothing helped all the food was underseasoned an underwhelming. But most of all it was so disappointing. For six people it was not a cheap dinner. The moral of my story dont ever eat at the market Street in South Jordan.
