I like this place. There is plenty of room. The coffee is good. The employees are great-OK there a couple of bad apples-but for the most part they are good at what they do. My one complaint is with the outside patio area. Everyone that sits outside smokes making it nearly impossible for someone like me (that cannot tolerate smoke) to enjoy the outside. Even while walking in and out of the back door you can walk through a cloud of smoke wafting by. There is a sign next to this door that says no smoking. The law in SLC is no smoking 25 feet from any entrance. This distance would remove most of the current patio area from the smokers. I am going to have my friend from the city look into this then maybe the rest of us can enjoy a cup of coffee in the sunshine. P.S. The tall blond Barista is like superfine sugar-so fine.

Absolutely love this place! the coffee and food is great and the environment is something that is never lacking. To top it off the service and staff are excellent. My personal favorite is Spencer, he always has a smile on his face and such positive energy that radiates around him and influences everyone he interacts with. I even came in one day and wanted to try something new. I ended up not liking it (even after drinking 1/4 of the coffee). I went to him to try something else with full intentions on paying for another cup but he was his usual self and told me it was on the house. Overall, great place to have some great food/coffee, meet with some friends, and/or hang out and study/read/relax (:

This is my favorite coffee shop. Not only is their coffee and food fantastic, but so is the atmosphere here. They regularly have a jazz band come in and play smooth jazz every weekend, and they always know the local Sugar House buzz. I come in here at least once a week for their turkey, havarti, pesto sandwich because its that good. They make their pesto sauce in house and it is so delicious. Their staff are always incredibly friendly and talkative no matter who it is. They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as healthy blended juices and a variety of baked goods. If you havent been here already then you are seriously missing out, I cannot tell you how much I love Sugar House Coffee.

The quality of service has fluctuated over the many years based on staff changes, but there are always veteran staff that wrangle it back to a homey experience. The somewhat eclectic lounge is enjoyable especially at night, with frequent guest musicians; just heard a great jazz session. There are lounge chairs to sink back into, many two seater tables along the windows for laptop hawks and both a front and back patio. Ive visited the store since the 90s at its first, second and now third location. Bob who created this legacy has just passed and handed it to his daughter. Come enjoy the family he created. [Thank you, Bob]

I feel "privileged" if you will; to live near this coffee spot. Its open early until late every single day. Thats hard to find in a good coffee shop! They have kombucha on tap and they have nitro cold brew. They carry matcha, gluten free food options, vegan food options, lots of regular food, and some amazing drinks. It is decent size and eclectic and cozy inside but theres also a decent size patio in the back to hang out at too. It gets crowded because it is just that great I guess, but from what Ive seen thats been only at certain time frames where college students need wifi and sugarhouse coffee was close and convenient.

The service is mediocre at best. The coffee is good. The owner is a nut case. If you want to see this first hand bring something to eat into the shop with you. He will explode and throw you out. Hell get irate and start to shake too.... and putting your food away and trying to have an adult conversation with him wont work - I tried. I didnt know the rules, but it was one strike and your out. You just dont treat people like that. Please do not put money in this guys pocket when there are good people, running good businesses all over Salt Lake.

One of the top five coffee shops in salt lake! A wonderful place to sit and sip with friends, work on homework, or grab a cup and bolt. With a WIDE variety of menu options and a very good staff, your meal or coffee will be made to perfection. This is a safe place for folks of all walks of life can come and be around people without fear of feeling uncomfortable. Help us keep this a great place by keeping negativity at the door. Try the graham cracker latte, you wont be disappointed!

Horrible experience today at a coffee house I have loved visiting in the past. Was rudely and horribly harassed by one of the baristas both inside the shop as I was waiting for my order and after we went outside to eat. Also watched/smelled multiple patrons smoking well inside the no smoke zone for the Utah Clean Air Act. I will never return and the barista needs to be fired. I have never ever had an experience so bad in my life.

Important institution in the Sugar House area. Strong liberal bent and often packed with a diverse crowd sharing tables or sitting at the long counter. Wifi plenty good and power strips abound. The antique piano is open to all and there are some impressive musicians who take advantage of it. Their tea menu is nice. Local baked goods. I ordered a sandwich once which got the job done but Id rather get food elsewhere.

First time there and I was not disappointed. Everyone was super nice, the girl at the cover was very accommodating and helpful. I ordered the Acai bowl, which normally confess with bananas, which Im allergic to. She mixed something else in so I didnt lose that creamy texture. HIGHLY SUGGEST THE BULLETPROOF FOR EVERYONE!! I dont normally like black, and the stuff in it is weird, but it is a glorious coffee

Sugar House Coffee is one of my favorite places in the entire Salt Lake valley. The coffee is absolutely incredible. The baristas are amazing as well. I truly enjoy everything about this place. The atmosphere is fun. I can me here for homework or just when I want a nice cup of coffee. Sugar House Coffee is the only coffee shop I go to anymore. I highly recommend this coffee shop

Wonderful place with friendly staff, plenty of seating, outlets, and great drinks and food. Very nice to see a local business thriving. Oh, and the ginger beer gives me life! One thing that irks me is the lack of to stay cups. I see so many people with plastic cold cups sitting for hours. No recycling, too. Glass cups would be a great addition to a wonderful neighborhood spot. :)

I love sugar house coffee! it is really busy pretty much all the time though. There is a good selection of food and drinks. i love their avocado toast with egg and tomato. It is a little pricy and i would give it 5 stars but Ive now had my coffee order messed up twice. if i pay for 2 shots please put two shots in. but it really is a great studying cafe.
