All day long my total food intake amounted to some random pasteries, a cup of noodles for lunch, and an afternoon snack of a kit kat bar. Thus far ive been pretty unimpressed with Big Saltys Pizza - Litzas is nothing to write home about & Stone Ground has potential but is a bit pricey. Both places have greasy, salty crust. Anyhow I dropped the kickstand & walked in. I wound up demolishing a 14" calzone with green olives & brocolli, & I was in heaven every second. The crust wasnt greasy or salty, but still crispy, kind of like a roll. The ricotta cheese & motzerella worked great with my ingredient selection, and the tomato sauce was tangy but (again) not too salty. They thew in 2 tomato sauce dippers for a whopping total of $14. The value of this supper is equivalent to the feeling one gets from buying a big name band CD for $10.00. I really have no idea what "New York Style Pizza" is supposed to be, but this place is delicioius.

My boyfriend and I live about 2 blocks from Estes and decided to try it one day instead of getting a $5 pizza from Little Ceasars. OMG - we went back 3 times within the next week! We got just a plain cheese pizza, and an order of garlic knots. The garlic knots are for major garlic lovers, there is so much garlic on those little bits of cooked dough! And the pizza......the best on this side of the Mississippi! You cannot get a New York style pizzia like this anywhere else! The flavor is amazing, its light and thin, right amount of sauce and perfect amount of cheese! The prices are very reasonable, and they serve beer! They also have a great special that goes on everyday, 2 slices and a soda for $7 - best lunch in downtown!

wasnt impressed but wasnt put off either..the pizza was pretty good..thin NY style pizza..me and a friend ordered slices and garlic knots to start,,we waited and waited and waited finally slices came out but no garlic knots..oops!..they gave them to a wrong table and we basically ate our pizza first then had garlic knots at the end..not a big deal per say..more irritated that we had to wait 20 mins for slices ...stuff happens..noticed alot of dirty tables..we came in around 2 pm and had to move dirty dishes so we could sit..again, not a HUGE deal..just noticeable..i like Este, i dont LOVE Este..it kinda just sits quietly in the middle of the pizza restaraunt pack..id say try it at least once..

*Update: finished writing this right as they called back. Mistake admitted and refund issued. So Ill give them a second chance This place sucks. I ordered my pizza for pick up at 6:45, to be ready in ~20-25 mins. My car brokedown, called at 7:20 to switch it to delivery, person at the restaurant said it would be "under an hour," figured it would be about an hour. Whatever, fine. Its 8:53pm. More than an hour and a half later. Call the restaurant. Busy signal. Who has a freaking busy signal in 2014?? Oh..wait. ITS CLOSED. AND I STILL HAVE NO PIZZA. Thanks. Great. If theres a charge on my credit card, Im jumping down someones throat.

This pizza is above average (better than pizza hut) but still not great. It reminds me of the the pay-per-slices you can get in New York (Ive always disliked the taste of single slices in New York because they cook it once then throw the slice back in the oven to warm it up and it tastes like stale leftovers to me). If you like Bleeker Street Pizza and Joes on Bleeker in New York this will taste good to you. Even the whole pizza had "slice like" qualities. The sauce and cheese are okay but the crust was dry and unimpressive. If you like the slice type joints youll like this.

Weve been going to este in sugarhouse for almost 2 years and this place is great. Really never been disappointed, but today we decided to give downtown a try because its seems pretty popular. The girl who has an outline of the state of utah tattoo messed up our order. We sat for 40 minutes and other customers came and went. Also she didnt give us a number and when we asked she said she would remember our order. Totally forgot about us. Took our money and no food came. Refund was given but still upset. Went somewhere else.

4/5 - A little bit expensive, but a whole lot of good! My wife and I found love Este Pizza. We love the thin crust and the good ingredients, though its too expensive for us to get on a regular basis. Were also not overt fans of the "dive" feel, but the pizza more than makes up for it. If you need a suggestion, go for the Italian flag pizza! Also to note, the feel of this location and their style differs from the Sugarhouse location, expect a little different of an experience here.

The pizza & garlic knots are delicious! The customer service is not so good. To be fair, the owner may need to hire additional help taking to go orders. Every time I call to make an order to go, I am placed on hold immediately & left on hold for more than 5 minutes until I hang up and call back. Usually I am placed on hold again, before I can get one word in. I really love the food & that is why I keep coming back...

3 stars means average in my book. This is like most of the pizza Ive had in NYC which means a super thin crust without a noticeable taste and bland sauce - many people love that kind of pizza. Even with trying to disregard my preference for thicker crust, the flavor is still just average - not bad nor notably good. The environment is cool. The pizza by the slice is crisped up perfectly and served hot.

I am super picky about pizza. I used to run a pizzaria and I know what goes into making a good pizza. This place was awesome I loved the atmosphere and the food was great! I tried their calzone and the crust was a little different but I liked it! Made very well and the service was quick! Definitely making this my go to place!

It is what it is. Im from Brooklyn and I love NY pizza..This is as close as I can get and its real hit and miss. I wouldnt eat at a place in Brooklyn that served pizza like they do.. But, in their defense, I think a lot of it has to do with the really hard water in Salt Lake ..It affects the quality of the dough..

I love going to Este Pizza. It has an awesome environment about it and the pizza tastes great. I especially prefer this location over some of the others in the valley. Even got their wings one night and they rank up there with some of the best Ive had. Perfect for lunch or dinner. You guys are great!

Authentic New York style pizza with an urban atmosphere. Staff is pretty relaxed and modern but there is limited seating so on a weekend night there could be a wait. They have a large variety of options and sizes from pizza by the slice to 18 inches. Delicious and one of SLCs hidden treasures.

Good east coast style pizza. Staff are always great.Try the calzone with fresh mozzarella for a real treat. Bottled beer is available and when youre done eating you can visit any of three bars across the street, one of which has a huge selection of beers from around the world.
