I recently moved to Midvale, and was excited to try the place that boasted "The best breakfast in town." I will start with the good. The servers and hosts were friendly. However, I was sorely disappointed with the food. I ordered Chile Verde, which was red (with verde being Spanish for green, red chile verde was disconcerting to begin with, but I figured Id be open minded) but it tasted like a can of store brand chillie dumped over hash browns from a freezer bag at best. I could taste the tin from the can the chile came out of. I was intensely hungry, but couldnt stomach more than a third of my plate. My husband had the biscuits and gravy, which also tasted like it came from freezer bags, or powder gravy. I am not sure if we ordered the complete wrong items on the menu, but this was incredibly mediocre at best, definitely not worth the try, money, or time. I generally like to give places a second chance, but dont know if we will be willing to stop by again.

We were over in Midvale to pick up some things at a local store and decided we needed food. We were going to Dennys until we saw MMC. If you grew up going to old school diners and truck stop diners, it was like walking into a memory. The smell of the coffee, the super friendly service...it was like a little piece of nostalgia. We were very pleasantly surprised by how quick the food came and how generous the portions were. My hubby even made a comment before our food came that he hoped they gave him enough french toast. His eyes got as big as saucers when the lovely waitress brought our food. Neither one of us could finish our breakfast. It was very simple and tasty. If youre looking for all that hippie granola veggie stuff this is NOT the place for you. But if youre up for some simple goodness, this is your place! My hubby and I cant wait to go back. Its a bit of a drive from our home, but were willing to make the trek :)

I just ate at the Midvale Mining Co. this evening--and it was the most disgusting food that I have had. I ordered the rib-eye "special"--cooked medium-well. It arrived dripping red--and was VERY tough. I asked the server if it could be cooked more--he took my entire plate--not just the meat--leaving me with nothing to eat--and I am sure that he just put it in the microwave. It returned with the watered-down corn so burning hot that it burned my tongue and the fries were all wilted and soggy--and still sitting on top of the steak as they were when it was first presented to me. The steak was still vibrantly red inside. The scones were heavy and dripping with grease. I could not recommend any of the food here. When I payed the cashier she asked me how my meal was--I told her it was disgusting. She told me, "Too bad--have a nice day." I could NOT recommend this restaurant to ANYONE

Had breakfast here today, and the food was dowright abysmal. I had the steak and egg special with a side of Biscuits and gravy. I asked for the steak medium rare, got it well done. It was tough, chewy, and flavorless - kind of tasted like chewing on a shoe. The biscuits were soggy and crustless, and tasted like they got warmed up in the microwave. Id rather eat biscuits from McDonalds. The gravy was another travesty. Thin and flavorless, a wave of sadness washed over me as I dipped my soggy biscuit in it. I ended up leaving hungry because I couldnt stomach finishing my food. I dont think Id wish this breakfast on my worst enemy. The only good part of the experience was the staff - they were really nice and friendly and the gross food came out blazing fast!

My spouse and I are really critical when it comes to our steak and dining experience, and wed rate many places with 3.5 stars even if it was good due to inconsistencies. However, wed rate this place with solid 5 stars. The prime rib is fantastic every time, and Bobby takes really good care of us. And its only $14.99. We enjoy having it served rare. Their scones are really good--it doesnt deviate much from normal scones, its just made right. We came across this restaurant by chance when we were stuck in traffic and we were trying to find a place for dinner. Their prime rib special lured us in and we have been coming here for at least once a week for 5 months. If you ask what else wed recommend on the menu, we wouldnt know--the prime rib is that good.

The service was good but the food was mushy, flavorless, and awful. Chili Verde - "Verde" means green, I dont know what canned goop was served, but it was neither "chili" nor "Verde". The " fresh Atlantic salmon" was frozen farm-raised fish, the pancakes are flavorless, the hash browns are mushy, and the "scone" is more like fry-bread than a scone. In our party they managed to make mistakes on every order, forgetting parts or just bringing a completely different dish than what was ordered. The portions were large, but as soon as the food arrived, you could see the disappointment from everyone at the table. Even though everyone said they were very hungry, no one wanted to finish their meal.

This place was a pretty great experience. We went for breakfast and had what the waitress recommended and it was delicious! And of course, we tried the famous scones and yes...the rumors were true and they were amazing. The service was surprisingly fast, given how packed it was in there, and we got our food fairly quickly. The prices are also very fair for what you get (the portions are huge). The only drawback of this place is how crowded it can get on the weekends, which makes the parking situation terrible! Overall, great place to get some good hometown breakfast, and Ive also heard the lunch and other specials are really good as well.

I ate here with my family last Friday and I noticed on Monday that my card had been charged two times for the same amount, I called them and talked with a Brooke and explained the situation and she took my info and said she would look into it. She said it may take a couple days for the refund to appear but she kept in touch with me and called me a couple times to check in on the progress of the refund. She was very helpful and friendly considering its not always a good experience to be double charged. I have my money back and am very happy with my experiences with them. My whole family has been coming for years! Thanks

Simple questions like "how are you" or "how was your food" goes a long way. I felt like I wasnt even suppose to be there. Food was all soggy and bland. Like it had been frozen, thing is I ordered an omelet, how they pull that off is beyond me. Like it was cooked frozen then reheated, an omelet? really? Ugh. I implore you to go somewhere else. I paid 40 bucks for pretty much nothing. Couldnt eat it and they didnt care why. No refills on drinks at all. Waitress threw food on table, literally I had to clean the table. Loud crashes too. Like she was mad I was hungry lol
