Im going to make this one short and sweet. Place has charm, like you stepped back into the 70s charm, and I wanted to like it. The food, when it came out, was really good. Id go back if not for the rest of it. We ordered four sandwiches. They lost our ticket. Its not a big place, how do you lose a ticket when there are four tables filled? The cook was apologetic. Our server was nice for most of the time but turned on us at some point. We waited 45 minutes (legit 45 minutes, honest to goodness). I wanted to walk out after half an hour. My kids talked me out of it. Our bill came to a very reasonable 24 bucks or so. I felt they should have just comped the meal after that mix up. I didnt want to argue it, I just wanted to end it. I gave the server $30. Good tip after all that waiting, I thought. But, our server still decided to make a snarky comment about us as we walked out. Something about being rude. No one even got close to being rude and believe me, had I wanted to I would have had a damn good reason to. But, no, I didnt vent my frustration. I kept it inside though I am sure visible from my body language. I wont be back....and I doubt they care.

This is a small place that must be experienced to be understood. It is really cheap diner food that all around is pretty good, but there are a few things on the menu that are just fantastic. The fried chicken is the best in Omaha. Nobody else comes close. They also have great pancakes and French toast. The pancakes are almost a bit more like crepes. Whenever I go I always get a fried chicken breasts and two pancakes. That being said you have to be in the right mindset when you go. It is a very small restaurant that was built in a laundry mat in the 80s. I dont think it has ever been updated. It looks like it was decorated by an old cat lady. It is an open kitchen so you get to see all the food being prepped which I like, but if you need to take a wee the only bathroom is through the kitchen and it may be a bit awkward. Some people may be put off by these things, but if you hold on you will get the best fried chicken of your life.

The wife and I had a chicken craving and Google led us to Richies. Be advised that this place is very small, the entrance door is a patio screen door, lol we walked in, and a mouthwatering smoked meat aroma was in the air..1 cook and 2 helpers.. the waitress didnt introduce herself but stayed on top of things. Salad, soup & Hot bread were great! Took quite a long time to get the chicken, when it finally made it out it was sooo hot! had to let it cool for awhile.. I had 2 thighs and they were very good! the wing I had wasnt that great. Very impressive menu, looks like they make everything fresh on the spot, you could even sit at one of the barstools and watch the whole process if you want. Well go back someday and try some of the non-chicken items.. an hour after we left, we still had a leftover thigh and it was still warm! If you like your chicken piping hot, better check this place out!

Great food, great prices. This is old school So. O greasy spoon family run diner at its best. The chicken is the best in town. Not greasy, not overally spicey and made fresh to order. These folks thank us over and over for our business everytime too, which you dont see everywhere. We eat here alot and although Im hooked on the chicken friends have raved about the other menu items as well. Its small and crowded so if you like space get it as take out.

This is diner food at its finest. The fried chicken is probably the best in Omaha. They also offer massive orders of fried chicken for take out. Ive actually seen people come in here and buy over a hundred pieces of fried chicken on a take out order. This restaurant has been here a long time and its pretty busy, also they dont take plastic so bring cash or your checkbook if you even remember what those things are.

Went there for lunch, they have simple inexpensive burgers, great service and good food. Make sure you bring cash, they dont take plastic. They are supposed to be known for their chicken, and the waitress said that they serve breakfast all day. Planning to go back for fried chicken and pancakes!

My food was amazing!! Their French toast is so delicious. The kids devoured their blueberry pancakes. My husbands omelet was also a winner. Cash only is worth it for this diamond in the rough.

I have been eating there for over 20years. Food is the we eat I like it. The waitress are a real joy too see. And since I am on a low salt diet, Richie makes my food the way I like it.

It is just not a family holiday for us without a stop at Richies. What this joint lacks in ambience it makes up for in charm. Food is always top notch and service always friendly.

This chicken is wonderful, although somewhat bland/caters to older crowds. Ask Richie himself to salt it up! I like this type of small & well rooted establishment/dive.
