*Update* A quick search on restaurant report card shows a recent inspection (within the last few days) showing a few nasty violations. The Good: For the price (lunch special), the food was appropriate. The Bad: I ordered pickup for three people. During the call, whomever answered the phone was in such a rush that she hung up on me after repeating my order and saying Thank You. I called back to finish completing the order (very simple orders, both the same) and I suppose they were still in a rush because she kept interrupting me in the middle of speaking, making placing the order difficult. When we arrived we found out that the lunch specia includes soup and an egg roll, unless you take out, so we decided to eat the food that was already made at the store. The waitress didnt understand how to do this, and had to speak to her manager. Somehow, it took 10 minutes to get the bag of food that was already cooked on the table. Two of our drinks were never filled, and the one that did grt refilled was done with an attitude. The waitress kept trying to walk away anytime we asked for anything, and when one of us asked for an extra soup, she walked away, throwing her hands in the air and shaking her head. When she came back, we let her know that we saw her actions and didnt appreciate it. Her response was a shoulder shrug, and "you dont know what was on my mind." She placed our bill on the table in the middle of us talking, said "thanks," and walked off to another table. I asked for her manager repeatedly, and she very rudely (across tables, nonetheless, since she had walked off in the middle) told me that she wasnt going to get her, I would have to. Not only was this just rude and unprofessional in general, Im also using a walking stick. Fortunately, the manager came by our table anyway, while we were getting ready to leave. While the managers attitude was apologetic, all she had to offer was that they were busy and the server had been employed there for almost 26 years. We brought the conversation to the payment desk, and the manager decided to comp the extra soup ($1) for the inconvenience, and insisted that the server is usually nice. As a customer who confronted the situation initially as professional as you can, I expect to at least be spoken to like an adult. A simple apology or some sort of acknowledgement from the server during confrontation would have been enough. Nobody appreciates being treated like an inconvenience, and I would expect a server to be able to serve a table without overt disrespect, especially one with 25+ years of experience. Summary: Food is priced properly, just be ready for a tenured server who doesnt care to get you refills or extra soup. Adequately-priced food isnt justification for disrespectful service in my book.

I tried calling in my order, however, the woman that answer seemed to be in a rush and didnt understand english very well. Im OK with the slight communication barrier but she did not have the patience to deal with it. After repeating a simple question for the third time I decided to just visit and order in person. Once I arrived at the restaurant, I drove into a parking lot with literally 3 cars. Walked inside to see the place 100% empty, a woman greeted me and walked off. I grabbed a menu sitting on the counter and sat down. She came by and began placing my order. She was in some sort of hurry not being able to answer simple questions. Not a favorable experience whatsoever, with other options for Chinese food nearby I see no reason to come here. Food was good with reasonable prices

I have to admit when eating here it is a hit or miss situation. They leave their sauces on the table without lids. People double dip, flies land on it, and kids out their fingers in it. Sounds like home, but this is a public restaurant. And the food is not the best. We ordered chicken chow mein today, and the dish looked overly boiled and mushy. The waitresses are not the most outgoing people. When you tell them there is a problem, they act like, well we didnt do it. It is crazy. Honestly, there is not one place in Waco, I would recommend that serves Oriental food.

Nice restaurant in terms of food and kind service. The restaurant feels authentic and they have a very diverse menu. I will warn others though that out of the handful of times Ive been it is always very dimly lit and theres only ever maybe two other tables. Theres never any music or activity so you just sit trying to be quiet and it makes for an awkard tension in a small environment. I commend the restaurant otherwise although!!

The food is delicious and the service is adequate. I dont usually like to take home leftovers, but it cant be helped here. My takeout container is as full as if I didnt eat anything. If you like soup, be warned that the small is about 4 oz but the large is 30 oz, practically a quart. Just get two soups if you want slightly more. I did today and it was perfect.

Id give 6 stars of I could. Super great and tasty food at an excellent price! Atmosphere was precisely as described too. Some of the reviews reported poor service but my experience was really great. The two waiters were busy with other tables so the hostess stepped in to help take my order. I didnt want for anything while I was there. Cant wait to go back!

BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT!!! Lois (the owner) is such a sweetheart every time I go pick up my to-go order! She always remembers my name and recognizes my voice when I call-in my order. Love their Sunday buffets when I do get a chance to go & eat in. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty!!

Just got done here. Food was decent. The only true issue is the lady that we paid. She had a hard time understanding what the waitress wrote on the ticket. After repeating 4 or 5 times she understood what we had ordered.

Some of the best orange chicken Ive ever had. Rice and egg drop soup were amazing. The price were excellent. So good in fact that we took another take out order with us. Great cozy place with amazing food and prices.

This place is delicious, & has one of the most complete lunch menus in town. Instead of having one small section with a few lunch dishes you can expect multiple pages of options available in lunch quantities here.

I used to frequent this restaurant but the last few times we have been, its been frozen, sloppy, & empty. I am glad Mama Fus opened up around the corner so i still have a place nearby to go to.
