We live around 1-2 miles from El Palenque, it is a very convenient option for Mexican food. Typically we either go to the restaurant or order take out every week or so. The Fajitas and Queso are okay, the Salsa is not so good. The service you get and the staffs attitude is terrible! If you order take out make sure that you open the bag and inspect the contents, dont just rely on the staff to go over the order. Countless times they have forgotten a main course or a side item. After another wrong order, and forgotten item, this will be the last time we will order from El Palenque. What really set us off, when we called the restaurant they had the nerve to ask us to drive all the way back to the restaurant to exchange the food.

This place was the way I remembered it the first time I came here years ago: bland, uninspiring, dirty, tacky atmosphere, and sub-par service. Seriously had better elsewhere. Pappasitos has more flavor and basic seasoning for practically the same price. Fajitas were tasteless. You can tell they were reliant on the beans and rice to carry the fajita through. The meat, the onion, the pico, and the guacamole were lacking seasoning. The service was lackluster as well. Our server was a little pushy with the way he felt the food needed to be. Friend was lactose intolerant and was asking for no cheese, and he kept telling her to get shredded beef for her tacos... The customer wants it a certain way. Stop insisting otherwise.

Awful experience!! AWFUL manager! I just walked out of the door and the "MANAGER" over charged me for food And then accused me of having wrong information. I ordered based on the google menu which can only be posted by the resturaunt itself. He then explained as I walked out of the door that I could "enjoy Taco Bell on the way home". How disgustingly rude. Not to mention they charged me 18$ for chili con queso. Are you serious? I wouldnt even give it one star. Dear the owner of this establishment, I think you should reevaluate the so called "manager" in the pink shirt with tattoos on his arms and WAY too much cologne on. (He was outside smoking while I stood there for ten minutes waiting for help) .

My girls and I have been going to El Palenque for more years than I can count. I LOVE this place. The staff is great and the manager is polite and always says hello. Of course I have my favorite waiter, Gabriel, and as soon as he sees me walk in hes bringing me a margarita. I dont even have to ask. I have taken many friends there who love it as much as I do. I do have one friend who says the margaritas are too strong so she can only drink one. LOL. I love that the happy hour is until 7 every night except Sundays. The food is delicious and VERY reasonably priced. I wouldnt go anywhere else for Mexican food!!!

Normally this restaurant lives up to my expectations, however, during my most recent visit to this restaurant I was very dissatisfied. We sat had to sit in the bar section of the restaurant and were not waited on for around 30 minutes (even took longer for our food orders). The food took well over an hour and a half while others who were seated after is received their meals very quickly. The food was alright but not wonderful. I can forgive this restaurant but today I left feeling displeased.

Went with my wife. Lady working there said she would call us when a table was ready. Waited 40 minutes and other people were getting seated. We asked again and she said they called me already like 20 minutes ago. I was sitting right in front of their eyes. Never once did I get called on. Ive been here a couple times, the food is good but the service is horrible. I was forced to go to Lupe Tortilla. They wanted to make me wait another 30 minutes just for two seats.

We had to get up to find our own waiters. They called us liers. They talked to us so rude. they would not even give us the owners name or info. They said they are not that dumb. The two managers that we spoke with should be fired. They are going to make that place go down hill before you know it. Oh yeah they also said that they sometimes ADD ITEMS TO CUSTOMERS TICKETS so place close attention if you still want to eat here.

Excellent customer service. Delicious food. 2 adults & a 4 year old 7pm on a Sat night, we were seated promptly. We shared a 1lb mixed grilled fajita & chicken which was more than enough and came fast. Price was reasonable too. Our child had an accident with spilled water and they were kind on cleaning it up. This place will be our go to place when visiting Splashtown and or Old Town Spring!

heck no El Palenque is the best resturant ive been to you should be lucky you get your food , @ tom richard your seem very ignorant its a great place the workers might get rude but its so you wont make a whole sceene and pleassse dont make me think your racist ok ? and person idk you better not make EL PALENQUE go down cause i know one of the manager and were real close * crossing fingers *

The food is amazing. Their fajitas and enchiladas are my favorite. The frozen margaritas are very good and very strong. One jumbo margarita is all you need. I go here almost every week, and if you are lucky enough to have Gino as your waiter, you will have some of the best service. If you are a smoker, they have a cantina area and an outside area which both allow smoking. Highly recommend.

Gonna start off and throw our server, jose p., ON TOP OF THE BUS. GREAT SERVICE. Very polite. The food was beyond amazing, and, as i have been here more times than i can remember, i know the quality is top notch. And still great tonight. Amazing food,in huge portions, and great drinks too. If you are on te fence about trying this place out, stop thinking, and go. Will NOT be disappointed.

i would not reccomend anyone go to el palenque. the service is horrible. the waitstaff is rude. on numerous occasions, there have been roaches. we went for a family gathering around christmas time, and in the girls bathroom, there was feces smeared on the wall of one of the stalls. im not sure if it is due to managment or if the place has always been this disgusting.

We had a group of family members here from Chicago and were celebrating a birthday. We had a group of 16 and the staff were very accommodating and got us all served in good time and in a friendly way. The food was good, served hot, and the drinks were very good. I would recommend this place for a casual, fun, quick dinner.

Been long while since been. Was a 4 star back then say about 1yr ago. Now. Fajitas chicken n beef thin cut n over cooked. Rice under cooked. Cheese dip queso smaller bowl. Green salsa hotter less creamy. Margarita way week and flavor off. Prices increased enough to make goin to pappasitos a better option.
