We went to dinner the day after mothers day to avoid the crowds. I guess we should have just gone in the rush because the experience of dining was hampered by the lack of several items ordered, even down to the request of paper napkins for my kids. No house wine available and no substitute offered at the same price. margarita machine broken. kitchen out of one of their small plate items at 6pm dinner. I understand that yesterday was busy and kitchens run out of food, but being out of napkins? service was slow on a not busy Monday night dinner. server didnt have any rush to get drinks or bus the table or bring checks when we were clearly done for more than 15 minutes. I paid $7 for a kids meal that was processed cheese on white bread, not even grilled like I would expect. my meal was overpriced and under seasoned, and I was told that switching sides would cost me a dollar when I didnt want rice. I usually dont write reviews, either good or bad but this was supposed to be my mothers day dinner and it really fell flat across so many issues.

We enjoy the sunday brunch every weekend after church. When ordering from their regular menus, our servors are always oustanding and make sure to reevaluate our food multiple times in order to reassure our acceptance and satisfaction. The assistance at Scenic Loop Cafe is friendly and attentive. Also, something you dont commonly find amongst other restaurants, there is an option of allergen free foods within the buffet lines. The service is awesome, the food is beyond well done, and the atmosphere is most enjoyable. The live music performed on weekend nights is always entertaining and the option of sitting in a kid patio with a playground is always relaxing. Ive heard the party rooms are secluded and rememberable, making the experience of parties that much better. When upstairs, the view of the Rose Palace next door is a wonderful attribution. I highly recommend this restaurant to locals and/or tourists and can bet your experience at this lovely restaurant will be just as outstanding as ours everytime.

Ive been going to this restaurant for a number of years -- its one my favorite casual places to sit outside to enjoy a cocktail, especially during the weekends when there is live local music (the indoor bar is also cozy during colder months). Theres a separate patio area with playscape for those dining with small kids, which is great for parents. The staff is always upbeat. I like the food, and I find the portions to be generous. To those who say its expensive -- if you explore the menu, youll find a wide range of options that fit most budgets. If you feel like splurging, you can try something more upscale from the Seasonal Menu, but they also have a number of options for under $10. (they make a damn good burger).

First I walk in and my first impression is this place is very nice then I goes downhill from there I ordered a strawberry margarita and the waitress brings me a strawberry lime mix I let it slide while on this subject I figured it would be a nice size no the size could probably fit in a kids sippee cup not reasonable at expecialy for 10 dollars then I order my food I got the chicken fried chicken and mac and cheese 18 dollars for this I figured it would be pretty sizeable it definitely was not and the mac and cheese was room temperature if that definitely will not return the waitress was also very in attentive someone elses waitress had to step in for her not a great first impression at all!!!

Drove 26min. one way to dine here specifically because they allow dogs. Place is gorgeous. Wife was impressed with my find. Waited 10min. no one came out to patio. 15min. later a waitress shows to assist a near by table with their bill. She did this twice. Avoided us each time as she walked by our table. She never came back. Just kept cleaning tables like we didnt exist until near close. We walked out in front of other patrons on patio. Place is gorgeous. If you can get more than a view out of your visit it is questionable. Lack of service embarrassed me with my family. Taking my hard earned money elsewhere.

My husband and I had dinner at Scenic Loop Café last weekend. We had first discovered this lovely Texas style restaurant on our first anniversary. The setting was inviting, service was good, and food was excellent. We have since visited many times when we were in the San Antonio area. This last visit was very disappointing. The steak had a funky flavor, that didnt even taste like beef and the salad was bland. Unless they improve their food quality, we wont be back. What a shame.

The chips/salsa/queso were awesome. But the entrees are crazy expensive. My husband got a bacon cheese burger and fries and he said it was good. I got the chicken fried steak and it was good but I think I got sick from it. It did not settle too well in my stomach. For being in the middle of the country they need to redo their prices. Its not a fancy place and shouldnt be priced that way.

Acceptable, but price/value not great for the flavor you get (example: refried beans directly from a can, poblano cream sauce is really just country gravy with added green chili strips and onion) . Everything is warm and staff is good. But fine dining it aint. Kids play area is why I come. That said, the chicken tenders were done right. Credit where it is due.

Tried to reserve an area for a very large gathering to celebrate several reitrees. Dealt with a VERY RUDE manager by the name of Christy. Very surprised they have a person such as this woman dealing with customers. Scenic Loop has now ruined its reputation with several customers in and around Boerne. They will never receive our business again.

Decent food, but inflated price. The French onion soup, at $8 a bowl, was underwhelming with only a few strands of onion and minimal bread and cheese atop. The half pound fajitas plate was well served, but lacked the flavor and flair suggested by a $20 price. Basically, all the food was good but not great, and probably not worth the price.

Went at 8pm on a Friday and sat on the patio next to the playground. Brought my dog as well because they are dog friendly on the patio. The restaurant is beautiful and the fans breeze was really nice. Food was excellent and service was great. There was not a lot of people though so that was nice.

If you have a while to wait for your food, then this is the place. My son had to ask the waitress when his food was coming because he was hungry. Very disappointed in the time it took and the service. Several items were ordered and never came. Drinks should not take a good while on a slow night.

Total disappointment! Shrimp where cool in the middle; chicken breast very small; steak over cooked, asked for rare, got medium-well done. Way over priced! Service was good is the only thing I can say positive about this place. Used to be my favorite place to go...wont go back at those prices.
