Really great sandwiches! I had the Chefs Continental sandwich, and it was delicious. It features a home-made pate that they make, along with sliced chicken and an interesting sausage. The pickled veggies and cilantro go perfectly with the sandwich, and the mayonnaise and home-made chili paste. They compliment it surprisingly well. The soup appetizer was also a treat. It was a french onion soup with a sopping wet bread slice smothered in cheese on top. The small onion bits floating in the soup along with the cheesy bread make a combination to die for. The tea is surprisingly good, too!! I would say its almost as good as the tea at Simis. Almost, but thats a huge compliment in my book! (I drink unsweet tea, so keep that in mind). I dont like sweets but my husband scarfed down my cream puff and his (he was eyeing mine) and he says it was really good and the bread for it was so soft and fresh.I really liked that the owner made an effort to stop by our table to talk with us. He was really sweet and Ive noticed the few times Ive gone that he makes an effort to get to know his customers and interacts with several of them. I left really happy and smiling. Also, with the heat outside the interior was really cool and fresh and I really appreciated that. The bill came out to $20 for us two, which was also an amazingly good price and I will happily dine here for as many lunches as I can for some delicious, fresh, yet affordable food.

At first glance, this is NOT your typical Vietnamese sandwich shop. Do not expect $3.00 banh mi. This place has a little more finesse to their sandwiches. The first sandwich I ate here was the pate with a cup of seafood soup. The seafood soup was your typical Asian restaurant seafood soup but with an extra flavor kick. That definitely caught me by surprise. The pate claim was that it was made in-house. The french bread was slightly chewy but soft. The vegetables were fresh. I definitely recommend getting their hot sauce. It is also made in-house. Definitely try their french style coffee (cafe du monde?). I am not a big coffee drinker but this was definitely worth a look. The desert pastry that came with the meal was delicious. Sweet but not too sweet. A perfect way to end a meal. You can purchase these individually for 70 cents a piece fyi.

Quaint, family-run place. Given its name, you may be curious to find it operated by a Vietnamese couple... if so, try googling the history of French occupation in Vietnam and the gastronomical fusion which resulted (terribly interesting). Dining room brightly lit and many small tables. Busiest around lunch hour due to proximity of medical, financial, and other professional outlets. Tim, who runs the place with his wife, is the charming man with a ballcap and glasses; he has an affinity for collecting currency from foreign countries and origami, and once he recognizes you as a regular may pleasantly surprise you with a freebie from time to time! The little custard pastry which comes with meals is my favorite, as well as the iced coffee which Tim fixes himself.

I went there based on the reviews and the fact it was close to my hotel. I was looking forward to a delicious meal. I ordered the french onion soup. When she brought it out, I could not believe that was their version of French Onion soup.....it was a light colored broth, with a piece of bread dropped in, about a tablespoon of cheese and ....you guessed it....NO onions. I left. I didnt even taste it. The only thing french about this place is the name. Maybe their other entrees are better. I dont know because I didnt venture to stay. I will say the waitress, who also appears to be the cooks wife, was not surprised by my leaving, and was very polite to me. Im starting to place less and less value on reviews.

My girlfriend and I decided to try out this place after looking for a local lunch special. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were made to feel welcome. We mentioned that we wanted it to-go and were pointed to a menu. The prices were very reasonable and the lunch specials included a sandwich, soup/chips/salad, and a small pastry. We took a few moments to make up our minds and the staff was very friendly. After finally placing our order the old man asked us if we liked coffee, we said we did and he went to the back to make it. It was great. I am excited to go back to this place!

This is a wonderful little, Vietnamese/French family-run, sandwich shop. The decor is simple, but with an upscale feel (the music helps). The owners and staff are extremely friendly and attentive. We had the tofu sandwich and roast beef sandwich, and we chose the French onion soup and seafood soup for our sides. Everything here is homemade and that rings though with the fresh flavors. Each sandwich comes with your choice of a side (get soup) and includes a delicious, cream-filled pastry. This is a nice spot to get sandwiches for lunch if youre in the medical center area.

Family owned and run, French Sandwich MASTERS its small, simple menu. Everything you get there will be consistent and satisfying. Affordable.Fresh and Healthy. Delicious. What a contrast to the typical options out there for lunch these days (and dont forget, their breakfast omelets and sandwiches are awesome!) The owner and his family members always incredibly nice and grateful for their customers. This kind of place is a rare Gem, and our community is lucky to have hem with us. Lets help make French Sandwich stay successful.

I have been eating breakfast here since 2005, the coffee (French style) is amazing! Today I was in the area during lunch tried the S-2 Club sandwich. As I took the first bite it melted in my mouth. This is by far one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had in my life. I am one of the most picky eaters around. The owner is very sweet and walks around greeting customers. If you are in the area try this place its awesome breakfast or lunch! Also, the prices are very fair its worth it.

I’ve being going to French sandwiches places for years. The restaurant is run by a family. They make absolutely relishes, healthy and a great value sandwiches! Restaurant has 2 blue plates’ awards. The food is not pure French, but more like French food with Vietnamese influence. This is a great place to pick up some lunch. During the lunch time call ahead of time, they get rather crowded.

I ran across this place in the San Antonio Current and decided to check it out. I had the S-7, Chefs Continental on french bread. The proprietor said it was a "traditional Vietnamese sandwich." Best. Sandwich. Ever. Seriously. My husband had the S-6, which I know had the word "fajita" in it, and he was just as thrilled with his sandwich. If you havent been, go. You wont regret it.

The sandwich was great but I asked to sample the pastry and the Asian looking guy gave me the one that was included with my meal. Minus 1star for that because what if I wouldnt have liked it?. 2nd star bcuz the wait took long and I saw my order sitting at the counter 5 minutes until someone finally called me up to the register. So I will probably not return to this place.
