Pictures make it look funky and rustic except in reality its just dirty and dated. Food is served cold on cafeteria trays, on deli paper, no plates. Self-serve sauces are near the plastic forks in unlabeled squeeze bottles with no containers/bowls to squeeze them into. Fries came out very late and were overlooked (dark brown), limp, greasy and flavorless. Ordering from the menu is confusing and disorganized. The sausage tasted like a generic Hillshire Farms smoked sausage from a package except marinated in even more salt, and served cold. The chicken was cold, pink and tough. The Mac and cheese came out cold like refrigerated potato salad. We thought this might just be their style except when we said something to the cashier/server she said they "must not have microwaved it long enough." Hmmm. On a good note, the green beans were good. We left there hungry and $30 poorer for possibly THE worst restaurant experience ever. PLEASE save your money and time.

This will be a quick one. I’m not sure how they’re staying in business with their one critical flaw. Character: 4****. This is an old joint, the building has been here for decades and they’ve did a decent decoration scheme. Service: 3*** Order at the counter and they’ll bring out your food, once you figure out the menu. Food/Quality: 2** The usual half pound marbled brisket side of beans, water. Freshly carved brisket, light bark, quarter inch smoke ring, decently marbled, but tough. Really who slices with the grain? Anyway, the flavor was okay but that doesn’t make up for the issue, 2**. Beans, also meh, 2**. Value: 2**, more than I wanted to pay especially when it was tough. Overall recommendation: I don’t know, overall the flavor was good and maybe other meats would be ok, but the Old Smokehouse is just down the street.

Honestly the people that own this restaurant are beautiful, sweet and caring individuals but their choice of staff has shown me personally that they have no freaking idea of what it takes to produce a consistent product. Ive been going for a couple of years and I can honestly say Id never go again after my experience today. I only go for their house chips and sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. It literally took 30 minutes to get 3 wrapped jalapeños 1/4 brisket and house chips. They ran out off the seasoning for the chips no BBQ sauce no Cole slaw no potatoe salad and the cooks reasoning is that they got hit hard even though they must have known that they might get hard because their was a party of 20 outside. No excuses worked years in restaurants and thats just poor management. Signed one sincerely unhappy guest

Atmosphere - 5 stars. Nice place to hang out with family and friends. Service - 5 stars. We were the only people in the restaurant, so of course they waited on us very well. Food - 3 stars. Brisket was fatty and dry, Sausage was more warmed up than actually smoked. Potato salad was store bought. Pulled pork was just..meh. The baby back ribs were FANTASTIC though! Cleanliness - 1 star. Place looked a bit wrecked even though we were the only ones there? Dead roaches in the restroom, yuck. Price - 2 stars. We paid $45 for a 2 person family meal, which seems really high for the lackluster quality of the food. 2 soft drinks were $6, for 18oz, which is insane. 3 baby back ribs were $10, which is absurd, however they were really frikkin good. Overall verdict - Wouldnt go back, except for some ribs, MAYBE.

Had never been there before. Overpriced for what we got. I like to give credit for bbq. Its not an easy thing to make happen quickly. Takes time. But got our order cold. After waiting a good 20mins. All they did was zap it in the microwave. The tortillas were store bought. Homemade would be better. The only decent thing i can say were the frys. They were the only things that were hot and fresh. The beans werent. They were cold also. I wouldnt suggest anyone go here. Bbq is a very delicate thing to get down. Which this place hasnt gotten yet. It takes alot of dedication and attention. Its not mcds or burger king. Cold food isnt a good first impression. So the search for a good bbq place is still on.

My family and i ate there a few months back.we waited over an hour for our food and when the food arrived it was all raw. Worst bbq experience ever. Not only did it cost 60 which is fine if the food is good. That was the case. They tried to substitute what we ordered for other plates avaivable. Makes me wonder how they stayed in business so long. We left all the food on the table and havent neen back even though a family member plays music there and has invited us time after time.

I ordered a 2 meat combo of brisket and sausage, 2 sides w/drink. I was still hungry. Their portioning for a plate is small and their sausage is definitely store bought H.E.B. (maybe even another). Their beer in fridge in was lousy, i ended up with a not so cold bud and my friend had a diiferent beer that was also warm. There is potential with this place, but they need more focus on the food going out, their fries are crazy salty and pinto beans lacking somewhat salt.

I hate to do this because the ladies were so kind, but I cant even stomach the food. My husband and I ordered brisket and a baked potato with chicken and brisket. The meat was SO dry, the potato was hard, the only thing that was hot was the green beans, and the portions we ridiculously small. The sweet tea was probably the best thing that we ordered. The green beans werent too bad, but the potato salad tasted store bought.

Wish i could be rating because i got to try the food. Went to eat dinner around 9:30pm. Ended up leaving after 3 minutes of walking in and trying to figure out what to eat. The kitchen decided to close over an hour early and the guy at the register seemed surprised. They close at 11. Everything seems overpriced, but I wasnt even able to see if it was worth it anyway. After reading other reviews i dont think ill be going back

All I ordered was a baked potato with brisket, placed order online. 20.50 for baked potato and brisket. For them to charge me first , then notify me they have no brisket or baked potato!!!! How can you claim BBQ WITH NO DAM BRISKET ????? No bake potatoes??????? And of course, 3-5 business days for the money to be returned. No rain check offer or no offer of something else on the menu.

Recently moved from Fredericksburg Texas. Ive been looking for some good BBQ, and Ill be danged if I didnt find it! I am disabled so I had it delivered. Delivery was faster than the pizza joint next door! The brisket was the best Ive had in years! I will definitely not be eating barbecue anywhere else in San Antonio. Thanks, guys! Job well done!

I had the brisket sandwich served on a hoagie roll. Its pretty good, decent amount of meat. I would suggest the spicy & sweet bbq sauce, the regular bbq sauce is just okay. The sandwich came with a large amount of freshly made chips which were pretty tasty. $8 for the meal which isnt too horrible for the amount.
