OMMFG!!!!!! WELL I WAS GOING TO THIS CORNER STORE THAT SELLS TURKY LEGS ON MY LUNCH BREAK BUT THEY WHERE OUT SO I WAS DRIVING BY AND I SAW SOUTHSIDE BBQ AND LONG BEHOLD A SIGN THAT SAID TURKYLEGS I WAS NOT SURE IF THEY WOULD BE ANY GOOD ON THE COUNT OF I HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE AND THE LAST TIME I STOPPED AT A SMALL PLACE LIKE THIS I WASNT VERY SATISFIED BUT I GAVE IT A CHANCE AND IT WAZ THE BEST THING I DID ALL DAY ALL I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT IS THAT TURKYLEG I TOLD ALL MY FREINDS AND FAMILY . I THINK I FOUND ME A NEW SPOT, SPREAD THE WORD!

I am a traveling business man and see BBQ restaurants all over San Antonio, but the smell was enticing enough to step inside and try the grub. I am glad I did for the BBQ was marbleized and practically melted in my mouth. I usually do not eat my all on my plate, but that day I had to along with the tasty moist chicken and potato salad. Mom and pop bar b que on the southside. U can smell the smoke from the street . ribs are fall off the bone very good , brisket is good too , i didnt care for the potato salad they dont add egg or onion , but wasnt bad i just like egg in mine. also u can bring your own beer , they have live music sometimes , blues , country , tejano.u just need to call to find out

The staff is very nice but the food is not that great. Sausage was burned, chicken was all right, brisket was not well prepared, potato salad was average and beans were ordinary, and what they call barbecue sauce was very runny and not so good. Barbecue sauce should stick to your meat. What they give you is very watery and there in Louisiana hot sauce bottles.

Just got out of work. Was hungry came in and got the whole chicken meal deal for $16. Loved it! Loved how everything on the plate was organized loved the special made bar b q sauce.the chicken tasted amazing . I was very impressed with the quality and quantity. I got full and still had some to take home. I be coming here for my bar b q fix for now on.

Amazing BBQ. Had a friend in town from Arizona, we tried this place, and were very pleased by the results. Amazing local atmosphere. Great owner, and cook. We were so full, but didnt leave anything on our plates. Easily better then Franklins. Great prices. More food then expected. Thanks again to the staff.

This has had to be the best place I have ever tasted of BBQ! Until I explore my horizons this will continue being the best place ever. I give this place five stars. Ive only been here once and this week Im fasting and all I can think about is Southside BBQ after this week of fasting is over

Over priced, rice tasted bad, had 1brisket plate and 1 beef ribs plate. The brisket plate was more fat than meat, and the beef ribs tasted iver cooked and driedout. He brags that hes been there for 11 years, u just dont know how !!!!!!

This was a hidden gem for us. We will definitely come back the next time Im in San Antonio. The place is family friendly and the food was delicious! I have no complaints and highly recommend paying a visit. Staff was very attentive.

I stopped by, from Houston, on Tuesday, June 14th of 2016 at 4:30 pm only to find that the place was closed. Not sure if it was only closed for today or not. I hope it is still in business because I really wanted to try this bbq.

This place is Awesome! We love to frequent SSBBQ as often as possible. We love the family run atmosphere and my Step-son loves the ribs. This is about as close to back yard BBQ as it gets!

Bbq sauce was gross and watery. Didnt receive the sides I requested. The beans and coleslaw were nasty. Ill stick to the joint off of New Braunsfels. The meat did have a decent flavor
