What To Order: Burger & Fries For some reason in 2016 I had person after person ask me if I had eaten at Burger Boy. The answer was no, and they couldnt believe it. I couldnt believe that everyone was saying this place was amazing, so one day I went there with a friend who told me I had to go try it. The building is a small little cube, upon going in I discovered the inside seating area was for about 10 people or less 2 or 3 small tables, and a 5 person counter. The menu about 10 items in all, including a regular burger, double burger, addition of cheese, bacon, fries, jalapenos, ice cream shakes, and then hot dog, corn dog, & fish or chicken sandwiches. I knew what I was there for, so that was what I ordered the burger and fries along with a shake. I took a seat at the window counter and about 5 minutes later the food was ready. The first thing that caught my eye were the fries, they were crinkle cut fries, I dont know if Ive ever seen a restaurant serve these, at least not in the last 20 years. As far as flavor goes, the fries were good, but nothing special. Then there was the burger, it was your authentic 1950s style simple burger. Bun sprayed with oil, toasted on the grill, beef patty that is rough around the edges, not too thick, kinda thin, topped with your standard condiments & toppings. The flavor on the burger was good, but again much like a dozen other burgers Ive had at nostalgic burger places. For the price, I was not impressed, the food was OK to good at best, not what I would consider a must try at least once. I didnt leave totally full after eating a combo, and left confused as to why everyone told me I needed to come here. 4 Stars. It is what it is, decent service, fair prices, OK food, but not unique in my opinion, only nostalgic.

Not sure what the fuss is about. #1 in SA? Must have been the non-chain competition. I had the Workman with an Orange Squeeze. The burger patties were large, well seasoned and reminded me of a legendary burger joint in Russellville, AR. The veg was fresh and the bun was soft but held up to the condiments and weight. The crinkle fries were very good (crispy, large & lightly salted) and a nice change from the usual. The Orange Squeeze? Ever had an orange slush from Sonic? But it came a super large cup. All that for just over $9. The place is tiny (literally 10 bar stools and two chairs), but the staff is very fast and the drive thru moved quickly. It is probably the best burger on St Marys/Josephine St., but not so great that Id drive past a Whataburger.

I cannot express to you how AMAZING the burgers are!!!! We were from out of town, found them while searching for food on google....yeah its small but they have a drive thru. We stayed and decided to enjoy the time, a couple of chairs opened up so we sat down. From the beginning, the gentleman behind the counter was so inviting and smiling the whole time....he explained the menu and what everything included....and I will say IT WAS THE FRESHES BURGER I HAVE HAD! The fries were hot and fresh as well. When I am back in the area I will definitely be stopping and bringing more people with me to experience this great place!!!

Great burgers! Two combos are the Bates Special which is a 1/4 oz burger, regular fry, and regular drink 20 oz. The other is the Working Man Special which is a double boy (two patties), large fry, and large drink (32 oz) Theyre both topped with mustard, onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Very delicious! If you want cheese, bacon, or jalapenos thats extra but sure makes the burger! YUM!! Also it was Whopper Burger, the current owner is the son of the owner of Whopper Burger. The burgers are very tasty! Go get you one! But if youre in a rush dont expect to go inside and sit because they are busy!

Took a different route to SAC than usual when my girlfriend and me decided we were hungry. Saw this place and decided to try it; when saw how packed it was we knew we were in for a treat. Ordered two working man specials with an orange freezey and ice tea. Our burgers were amazing they automatically came with bacon, cheddar cheese and grilled onions. The meat was prefectly seasoned and cooked. The orange freezey in itself was amazing we ordered our food around 1pm and the drink stayed cold throughout the rest of the night. Definitely coming back.

The punk maggot with the goat tee needs his block knocked off. Punk puts my bag of food on the counter and he was about to let go of the bag of food to drop to the ground. Hes a maggot. First time and last time Im going to this maggot burger joint. There is one good worker there, he is a moreno. He took my order right away with excellent attitude and fortitude. Because the white maggot with the sissy goat tee, left from the register when I was next up to the counter to place my order. That white boy is a punk sissy maggot coward.

Plain and simple, delicious good old fashioned burgers and fries! I mean, you can go there for the shake alone and youll be glad you made the trip. But, just know the food is really tasty! There is a drive-through, tight (but cozy) counter seating inside, and a few tables outside as well. A second mention for those shakes! Personally love the orange shake; it is amazingly delicious! And FYI they offer a single shake size, but fear not, it is the right size. Now, go enjoy! Your cheeseburger locker will thank you...

This place gets so busy at lunch time and dinner time. At times the drive thru goes faster than the line inside but at other times is the opposite. The guy who is at the intercom getting the order can sound annoyed, agitated, and inpatient. I dont know if hes having a bad day or thats just how he is. What usually works is when you order, say everything you want in one sentence loud and clearly. The guy prefers it that way. Also, ask for a recept when youre paying if you would like one.

Omg! Best burgers in San Antonio! Ive tried all the others and all that fancy and gourmet, over the top ingredients. At Burger Boy they do so much with just the basics of whats needed for a burger. They also have crinkle fries! Who does that?! No one! Not sure why but Burger Boy does and I love their fries. Milkshakes to are smooth and creamy too. They have a very small menu and everythings worth ordering. Burgers 10/10. Fries 100/10. Milkshakes 10/10. Staff 2/10.

Great little non-chain place with tasty burgers and fries. The orange shakes are also good, and a nice change of pace from typical varieties. I like the old-fashioned vibe of the place, and feeling like Im visiting a local landmark. Service has always been friendly, and Ive never had any sort of negative experience with it or the food. Ill continue to visit Burger Boy as often as possible, and keep recommending it to others looking for a good burger.

I got a huge double cheese burger with fries and a large orange freeze for under $8! You could easily get a smaller meal and walk out under $6. This place is clean and the food is pretty tasty... especially the fries and the orange freeze. You cant get a deal this good at any fast food chain; so, if youre considering waiting in a long drive-thru lane at a nationwide burger chain think again and give Burger Boy a try! You wont be disappointed.
