I am writing this because of the "bad" experience I had yesterday (August 8, 2017) at this location. My co-worker and I arrived at this location a little before 1:00 pm. I proceeded to place my order for a chicken salad sandwich. Easy enough, chicken salad is prepared, the salad is served on a croissant roll, easy peasy, right? Wrong! I received a number so my sandwich would be delivered to me after I sat down. My co-worker stood in line to order the salad trio. We were behind 3 other guests who were not the fastest at making up their minds and placing their orders. I know this isnt your fault, but it will pertinent later on in this email. We moved through the line (which consisted of only two la Madeleine employees and one was the cashier (not helping patrons)), and paid for our orders. My order was $11.09, which is pricey for a chicken salad sandwich and a glass of tea. Anyway, we sat down and waited for my sandwich. My co-worker stated it was ridiculous that I still hadnt received it after waiting over 10 minutes (this does not include the time we waited in line behind the three other guests who did not order promptly). Im guessing my total wait time for the sandwich was over 20 minutes. Now mind you, we were on our lunch HOUR and honestly didnt have time to wait this long for a sandwich. My co-worker proceeded to get up, and go to the line to ask for my sandwich. Well, you guessed it, my sandwich hadnt even been prepared.....it appeared that my order was lost. If she hadnt gotten up carting my number I may never have received my sandwich. Okay, you think things are good now, right. Wrong! She brought my sandwich which was the most pathetic chicken salad sandwich Ive ever seen. Normally, La Madeleine has plenty of salad on the sandwiches. Not this time. There was approximately 1/4" to 1/2" of salad on my croissant roll. It was so bad that at some point I was eating lettuce and croissant roll only. Wait, theres more. The potato chips I ordered, it appeared that some one reach into the bag of chips and placed 10 or so chips on my plate. After I finished eating, which didnt take much time at all, I was still hungry. To sum up I paid $11.09 for a chicken salad sandwich where I ate more lettuce and croissant roll than I did chicken salad, 10 salt and pepper potato chips, and a glass of tea. I am very disappointed in the product and the service I received at this location. I would have spoken to the manager, but like I said above, we were on our lunch hour and based on the service we received, I wasnt sure how long it would take for a manager to be available (if one was even on-site).

Me and my girlfriend Cortney came here today at 2:30pm for our first time, we looked at the desserts while the group of people ahead of us ordered there food, everything looked great, ordering process is a bit strange... But we grabbed a menu and found what we wanted to eat and it sounded and look really good. The people finally finished ordering and had a seat, and the woman taking the order dissappeared. We saw three employees standing behind the counter just talking to each other, two behind a cash register, so we decided to go to the cash register where we ran into the manager and asked if we could order here and he told us someone will be up by the dine in sign shortly. So we walked back and waited even longer, still have not been greeted by anyone at this point and we looked around, nobody appeared to be coming, we were in the store for probably a total of 20 minutes. Everyone saw us but nobody did anything. We turned around and walked out. This was our first and last time coming here. Worst first impression / experience at a resturaunt ever. I do not recommend anyone come here because even if you do finally get your order in, who knows how bad the service would be from there for anything else you might need. This is the first bad review I have ever left and I dont know how this place is still in business. Saw many other similar bad reviews as well.

Sorry excuse for a Country French Cafe. Entry is always confusing. Will there be a host standing there demanding I immediately choose from the written menu or will they instead be sending me through a line where I have to guess what my choices are and what they will cost? To get half of this youre required to buy a cup of soup - really? Yesterdays salad was limp with entirely too much dressing and the Friand was a mess. Dough was gooey and the whole thing was drowned in a sauce they never even bothered to ask if I wanted, but more importantly, it was tasteless. Hubby refuses to go anymore, because theyve always just run our of French Toast. Ill give them that its a nice place to sit and have a conversation, but it would be nice if you could also enjoy a meal. I remember how wonderful it was to go to the original La Madeline over by SMU. What a disappointment to watch the way this old favorite has degenerated into just another place to go and not a good one at that.

I love la Madeleine food. This location is the only one near me so I frequent it often. They have terrible customer service and I think it starts with their management. Went today and got a lunch to go. Ordered a tuna sandwich and got chicken salad (this happens quite frequently). Took it back to get tuna, they gave me chicken salad AGAIN. Took that one back and finally got tuna with a sort of shoulder shrug and a weak apology from the manager. Why not give me my money back, a free something, get it right next time?? I have also been in the to go line where it is backed up to the door and the manager is talking and laughing with employees at the inside food line with no one in it. I had to walk around and ask her if someone could help the ONE person at the to go counter. Come on la Madeleines management! Step up to the plate!

Im giving la Madeleine one star because theres no way to give them zero stars. We went there to have lunch today. I ordered the roasted salmon with dill sauce. The greeter acted like I was an idiot. She said we dont carry salmon. I pointed out that I had ordered the roasted salmon with dill sauce on several occasions. She said "well then we dont carry salmon anymore." And, she was NOT nice about it. You could tell by the tone of her voice that it aggravated her that I was questioning her about it. I wouldve probably been more forgiving but this is not the first time this kind of thing has happened there. In the past Ive ordered items that they told me I would have to call in advance if I wanted to have them. So, this will be our last trip to la Madeline.

Let me start by saying, Ive given this place three chances before I wrote this review. My review is about the online ordering or lack there of. Each time they have never gotten my orders right, how that is possible I dont know. Because Im placing it online. My last order 12/20/16 was loaded potato soup, tomato soup, sandwich and salad. Here is what I got no sides for the "LOADED POTATO SOUP" no bacon, cheese, chives or potatoes in the soup! WTH! It was so thin and watery I threw it out! The tomato soup came in a bowl that was 1/3 full! Even though I was charged for a full price. Lastly, the sandwich that didnt come with its salad. Called them they gave my money back after being on hold for 5 minutes. Will not be back worst service in Rockwall!
