I used to love this place whether it was to study or hang out with my friends. The old management and employees were amazing and genuinely cared about their customers, and were the main reason why I kept coming. They now have new management, and to my disappointment, they are awful. I met up with my friend to study here, he had just bought a drink, and after 10 minutes of sitting down the manager came and basically told us off for using their wifi and not buying drinks. 10 minutes after that our computers were no longer connected to their internet (changed the password). Very rude and unexpected. The drinks are still amazing, but I prioritize customer service. Every single one of my experiences coming here with this new management have been disappointing. After that last visit, I definitely refuse to return. Genuinely sad.

I went there to purchase a large bubble tea and the price came out to be $4.56. I handed the manager my card and he pointed to a sign I hadnt seen about there being a $5 minimum on credit cards (which doesnt make sense because I am assuming that a majority of their drink purchases are under $5). I ask him if he can just charge me $5. He says no. So I say okay, Ill check the car but I was pretty sure I didnt have cash in there. I could not find cash, come back, and offer to purchase something small to get to my minimum. He swipes my card anyway for $4.56. I tip him $1 for the inconvenience and he ends up making me a medium (Im guessing to compensate for the difference in price) and handed it to me with a look of disapproval. The whole thing was so dumb! Great tea, awful service.

My visit was on a Saturday around 10 p.m.. Different from most coffee/bubble tea shops that I have been to. Variety of sitting places from couches to high chairs to tables. Attractive to college students and different cultures. Purchased the Vietnamese coffee, a Thai tea, and a Strawberry tea-lemonade. The boba in the Thai tea didnt taste quite right but the tea-lemonade was delicious. The atmosphere wasnt as welcoming as I wish it had been but that may because there were a bunch of people (~15) there, working on laptops and/or chatting with friends. Which could be a testament to its popularity. Willing to go back and try the coffee. It is open late most nights.

I would give it 0 stars, but google wont let me. The new management is TERRIBLE. I have never been more insulted as a paying costumer (for 6 years) than at iJava and Chai. The owner/manager is very rude and told me to get out if I didnt buy something immediately and talked down to me like a child. I have come here because it is open late to study, but honestly the tea nor the customer service is worth the drive (and I live 2 minutes away). Utterly shocked by the unprofessionalism. DO NOT GO HERE. Victor does not deserve your business. Honestly shocked he is still in business if this is how he treats his customers.

I am not sure what happened to this place. Used to be the spot Id always hit up for tea on late nights. Last 3 times I have been here though in the past couple months, Ive been disappointed. Not only is the manager or whomever he is SUPER rude, the drinks just taste bad. I had a taro milk tea with boba. Tasted bland. The boba had a really nasty after taste actually, never happened before and not sure how that happens to begin with. Ive lost hope in this place. Not returning. A real shame.

When I found out about this place, I wanted to check it out, and its wonderful! I been looking for a cafe near by that was open late and this was it. The atmosphere is great, it beats Starbucks, and the hours are great for anyone wanted to stay late to finish school work. The drinks and food are fantastic. I been coming to this place for a few weeks now and Im glad its here. I would recommend anyone who enjoys great drinks, a relaxing place, and stays up late to come here.

The management is just rude/strange. They have their kids working and the kids were very nice and pleasant. One customer had a complaint about their boba tea. The manager came and basically told this girl she was stupid. Then the mother/other manager came by and tried to repair the situation. Which seemed to work. The 5 dollar minimum thing is strange especially for a coffee shop. Coffee wasnt great either.

Rude Manager. Requires you purchase something before giving out the wifi password (even for regular customers). This place used to have very good business, not anymore. Kung Fu Tea and Tasty Cup across the street have much better business, superior drinks and customer service. FYI Ive been going to Java & Chai since 2002, so this is not a rash review -its fallen off a cliff.

My wife and I are new to the Dallas area and were looking for a low-key place thats open late, with great coffee and tea. This place did not disappoint! The service was quick and excellent. I was also pleasantly surprised to find they had Turkish coffee on the menu! The owner was also very kind and hospitable and very conversational... Will definitely be back!

Superb smoothies. Just the right amount of boba. I havent even begun on the coffee options. Great hot chocolate that doesnt rely on sugar to have flavor. Ive met everyone that works there and theyre always happy and quick. I stop by every few weeks at least. Edit - great hours for studying or hanging out, and wifi for customers is a plus.

The atmosphere is great! Im no designer, but they put a lot of work into designing the place. Service was fast, and the people were really nice. I ordered a milk tea, which could come in two versions. I had never tried them, so the owner gave me a sample. The drink had a very natural flavor and did not taste artificial at all.

Dont let your young daughters go to this shop. The managers are very strange towards them. I once saw the manager hold a customers hand (interlockingly), walk her outside to look at a sign on the front window. We talked with the girl and she was very uncomfortable and explained that her friend experienced the same weirdness.

I would give it a zero if I could. Beyond terrible service. Manager personally told me that if I am not going to buy anything then I should not be here, within 5 minutes of me sitting down. Also the worst boba or tea drink within 20 mile radius. Management is exceedingly rude and should be replaced ASAP. Menu options limited.

I just had a muffin and some tea. Both were fine, but the place was pretty empty. I had to wait a couple minutes for the owner to get off the phone when I arrived, but that didnt bother me. The music, however, was loud-ish (for a coffee shop) and pretty obnoxious. I had to move my study session elsewhere.

I am a frequent customer and the beverages are usually very delicious! I visited Java & Chai, last night and I ordered a Honey Milk Tea and Italian Soda. The Honey Milk Tea had a short black curly HAIR inside of my drink! Very disappointing, I love this place but finding hair inside my beverage is nasty.
