Im a big fan of the original Main Street Bakery in Grapevine, but work in Plano and decided to give this location a try. I went in by myself for a quick lunch and found that the restaurant is designed differently than the Grapevine location. Upon walking in the door, there is a host(ess) stand and next to it were a cluttered pile of menus. Since there was no host(ess) there, I picked up a menu to peer through the options. After about 30 seconds, the hostess came up and seated me. My waiter showed up shortly thereafter and took my drink order while I looked over the two menus. There was a main menu that offered breakfast, lunch and "entrees" as well as another menu of "specials" although none of the prices seemed to deviate from what was on the regular menu. Craving something with beef, I asked the waiter to help me choose between the beef sliders, tenderloin sandwich and the french dip. He assured me that the french dip was the way to go. I ordered with a side of fries (included). When the food came, the fries, sandwich and au jus were all warm, however as I started to dig in (and Im a fast eater) the plate quickly became cold. It was very disappointing dipping a lukewarm sandwich into a lukewarm bowl of au jus. Likewise, the fries (shoe string and cooked to a perfect crispy golden brown) were totally cold halfway through my sandwich. While I was making my way through my mediocre lunch, I noticed the couple across from me had ordered a pair of french dips and had to ask that a hot bowl of au jus be brought to their table. If not pressed for time, I would have probably voiced concern over my lackluster meal. However, after having such fond experiences at the Grapevine location, I fear that this crew doesnt keep their standards nearly as high. If youre in The Shops of Legacy and you have enough time to grab a sandwich, there are plenty of other places nearby that will give you a much better experience, which is such a shame, because the Main Street in Grapevine is one of my favorite spots in town.

Severely Disappointing. The sign on this place says "BREAD BAKING COMPANY", so would you believe they dont bake their own bread? Ya...thats what I thought too. It looks like a nice little European style bistro with pleasant decor and an airy feel. At first glance, the menu is pretty pricey for what it is ($12 sandwiches) and there are no real lunch specials to speak of. The menu, which has a lot of items including breakfast during the day, says "All sandwiches served with Kettle chips." I thought Great, I love fresh cooked potato chips. I ask the waiter to be sure, but he tells me they are from a bag. What a disappointment. Flipping through the menu I really didnt see anything appealing, and suddenly it occurred to me, so I ask the waiter cautiously "You do bake your own bread, right?" No, he replied. Its not fresh bread, really? But it says bread baking company on the sign! The waiter gives a shrug and tells me it comes in a bag. Now I am really disappointed. I order a half chicken salad sandwich on sourdough with a side salad instead of bagged potato chips. The sourdough bread was a severe disappointment. It was clearly pre-made packaged bread from a factory, probably a week ago, and it wasnt even good. It was like store bought bread out of a bag, clearly with preservatives, not the fluffy light fresh and delicious bread I was craving. It was the worst sourdough bread Ive ever had, actually, and the chicken salad was nothing special. It was plain, boring, basic and didnt even come with cheese. The side salad was good but not great- Village Burger just a half block away has far better salads. The food overall wasnt terrible or disgusting, but it really just wasnt very good. As some others have reported the service was pretty lacking as well...not outright terrible...but below par. I waited far too long for a waiter to initially come to my table and a long time to get the check. The ice tea was good (always a plus for me personally) but I would never go back or recommend it.

I have been dining at Main Street since it opened, but will not be anymore. As of late, the quality of food and service have declined while the prices have risen. Just tonight, I paid 10 dollars for coffee and tiramisu. First, the tiramisu is not what it used it be, it was the worse Ive ever had. And service. Dear god. First off, I was not greeted when I entered. That would be understandable if they were busy, but they werent. Four employees stared at me until I asked one of them to help me. I ordered a small coffee, but the receipt didnt specify, so I asked if they could make sure I had paid for the right size. First they said, "Im sure thats what it is" and when I pushed further, when I asked for them to please make sure, they looked at me like I was the rudest customer ever. Also, the hostesses were dressed extremely unprofessionally. One was wearing jeggings, and the other was wearing a pink lace top with a neon pink bra showing through. Every employee I interacted with treated me with disrespect when I only acted in the most patient and kind manner possible.

Ive been a loyal client of Main Bristo at the Shops of Legacy location for the past 3 years. I have to say, in my opinion is one of the most hospitable bistros I have visited. Morning or evening. I love how they have been able to memorize my meals which is highly important for a regular like myself. They offer free wi fi service which is great to get some work and studies done. Ive had several meetings here with friends and business partners. Managers like Juan and Paul are the best in the bistro business. They become your friends. Waiters and waitresses like Kristen, Cesar and Gizelle make it a goal to serve you above and beyond. I highly recommend this place for a casual laid back eat out. For dessert, the brownie with ice cream is delish. Their grilled chicken and veggies are good as well. Dont be surprised at the length of time you spend there. Its a bistro.....not fast food. Outside patio is a plus in the summers.

Worst place to eat!! I work in the shops so I have given this place several chances!! But today Im done going there!! I was on my lunch and called in a order for a plain toasted bagel at 2:12 I finished up what I was doing at work and headed over at like 2:30 thinking that was plenty of time, well I paid my $3 for a plain bagel which is so overpriced anyway I got back to work and realized the bagel was not toasted so I walked back over and it then took them another 15 minutes to toast my bagel I asked to speak to a manager because I feel like they are so inconsistent with their food and service! When I explained why I was irritated they just looked at me like I was stupid. The ppl are alway rude and like I said so overpriced for the quality of their food!!! I will not be back nor will I recommend anyone to eat there!!!

Take a look at the beverage sides of the menu. You will see an item like: Fresh squeezes orange juice: $2.50 (no other information) And then you order it, drink it, and when you ask for the check you see that you are charged $5.50. You ask the server "Why", and she tells you that the price on the menu is for a small glass, and you were served a big glass. NOWHERE in the menu, it is mentioned that there is a small and a big one, and the server does NOT tell you that.. So, the menu states the price of a small one, but they bring you a large one, and charge you for it.. Its a very low trick, unexpected from a place in Shops at Legacy. And the server says "Sorry, its expensive", which makes you even more mad.. So, you pay it, walk out, and make sure never go there again..
