I went for a late lunch to go and the cook had an attitude with me because I piled my bowl up pretty high. I placed it on the counter that was closest to the bar and he said, "No put it over her." He motioned to where he was standing. I thought this was rude since there was nothing on the grill and no one behind me. I got my food and noticed that he charged me for a large bowl even though it was a medium. I told them to change the bill. This took a while as they had to go find the manager. I sat there with my to go food getting cold. I was annoyed by this so called the manager when I got home. They said he was busy so I gave them my number. An hour later I called back. I asked Angel, the manager who writes down the size of the bowl. He said the chef. I told him what happened, he said that he remembered me and that he would give me a free bowl on my next visit. I just called to confirm I had a free bowl but since he wasnt there I was told I couldnt have the free bowl. Angel never said free bowl only when I am there. I am driving right by there around dinner time tonight... I have been going to this location for 10 years and have seen it decline to a very mediocre version of its former self. I will go to Rockwall from now on. Their food quality seems better and the service certainly is.

I wish Id eaten anywhere else. I ate at Ghengis Grill in Mesquite less than an hour ago and I feel awful. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed a slight odor of spoiled raw meat and thought "I should leave" but the host had already ushered me into a booth and the server popped up right behind him, eager to have a customer. I realized I was the only person in his section and in a moment of weakness (i.e. sympathy for the friendly young server) I decided to stay. I avoided the fish and poultry. I chose imitation crab (packaged fully cooked means its okay, right?) and marinated beef (it looked good, nice and red). In retrospect I realize that on a buffet of raw meat, if anything is bad then all items are suspect. The food came out way overcooked but tasted fine, mostly. One random bite of crab was a bit fishy, so I pushed the rest of the crab aside. On the drive back to my hotel I felt nauseous and I was afraid I would have to pull over and vomit. By the time I got back to my room I had overcome the nausea, but Im still experiencing a variety of unpleasant bodily functions. I just want to relax and sleep this off, but thats impossible since I have to run to the bathroom every few minutes. Avoid this place. There is no way to keep a self-serve raw meat buffet at room temperature sanitary.

I am a Ghengis Grill fan and have eaten at the Rockwall and Mesquite locations many times. The rockwall one has the best service, but is almost always chock full with a line of waiting customers (thats why its packed). The Mesquite store has never let us down on the food, but it is a less sophisticated crowd of regulars, and some of the waitresses are WAY too gabby, and kind of weird. Last time I was there, the waitress was yapping on about how she had gotten so mad she threw some dishes or something, and I really didnt care. PRobably doesnt work there any more now. Oh well, the food has always been great and fast, and the place is satisfactory. I dont eat outside though because of the stupid mall rats and rapper wannabes who play their BongoMaster 2000s on the boulevard. Inside, though, cant hear any of that crap, and they usually play sports on the TVs. The bar is always well stocked, and the staff is always busy, never seen anybody standing around except the yappy waitress. Ill eat there any time.

Drove 20 minutes to get an order Togo. Large bowl with 3 sides: rice, noodles and tortillas. Waited 15ish minutes and got my food and left. Got home to find my bowl with only rice. THEY FORGOT NOODLES AND TORTILLAS. Called and spoke to young lady hostess and told her what happened. She asked if I could wait on hold for a minute and 22 MINUTES LATER without hearing from her I hung up and called back to a busy line that wouldnt ring. Ive been calling for 15 minutes and the phone line is still busy... 40 minutes of driving, 22 minutes on hold and 15 minutes of calling a busy phone line make my first ghengis grill experience in years a perfect reason to never go back. Seemingly good service inside but absolutely horrible overall experience and I WONT BE GOING BACK..

We had the pleasure of having dinner here on Saturday night, and had such a wonderful experience. The dining room was beautiful, service attentive and prompt and our meal was delicious. I should start by saying that my daughter has several diet restrictions and eating out can be a challenge, but the chef, pantry chef and our server Jordan were accommodating and creative. The wine list and seasonal menu gave us so much to choose from, and the complimentary chocolate truffle and fresh berries were the perfect end to our evening. Should we be back in Bakersfield, we definitely will be returning.

The ingredients presented to make your "bowl" are fresh and there are many options to choose from. Be sure to fill up your bowl on the first trip (a suggestion from our server) but I didnt heed it so I had to pay an extra $3.00 for unlimited refills. Halfway through the second bowl, I was way too full so I wont make that mistake again. Since you dont know how much or how many spices to use, you can come out with fire-breathing hot like my first bowl or bland and tasteless like my second bowl. All-in-all, it was good and a welcome to the limited dining options Mesquite offers.

I had a good experience here. I love this restraunt usually go to the one in Rockwall its closer to me. but I went to this location and the service was very good. I was greeted with a smile I chose to sit at the bar because I was alone. bar service was friendly they took care of me and had good conversation as well. food was very good and brought out before I could finish my first beer. I will come back to this location again.

The last 3X Ive gone here theyve burnt my food. The servers usually do a good job but tonight our sever ran by our table like we didnt exist almost every time. When I told him my food was burned and showed him the pile of charred pieces he just said "oh" and moved on. If there was a manager there I couldnt find them. Sad, because I love me some Genghis but this location sucks over the past 6-8 mo

Started off as one of my worst dining experiences ever, easily 0 stars. I was shown my seat but no waiter would come and take my order. Had to flag down a passing waitress just to get a drink, and I was on the verge of walking out. Luckily the manager came out and he was very nice and friendly and I didnt have any further problems. The food is really good and the prices are reasonable.
