This bakery is absolutely horrible. I called to place an order in January for my baby shower, I wasnt sure of the exact amount of guests so I informed the woman Melissa that things could change, she assured me it would not be an issue and she would call me TWO WEEKS before my shower to confirm the details and she would need a deposit or a card to HOLD the order and she would confirm with me before running me card. I asked her multiple times, " my card will not be ran without speaking to me first correct?" She responded "yes". Now when someone tells you this logical thinking would mean you will not be charged until they hear from you. Well this was not case with this business, not only did she not contact me, she sent a email (which I did not receive until 24hrs after my shower) she clearly did not stick to what she told me the day I placed the order, which was that my card WOULD NOT BE CHARGED until she confirmed with me. There was never a confirmation from me and this woman went ahead and made a cake anyway, without speaking with me since January 18th, charged my card $220, and than someone named Renee called me at 3pm in the afternoon (my shower started at 12) to tell me they made a cake and 4 dozen cupcakes for me and I needed to pick them up. I come from a family who owns many businesses, they would NEVER complete an order without first speaking with customer. That is for safety of the business and not wasting product but also to assure you dont have a angry customer calling for a charge on their card they never approved. Now after speaking with Renee the day of my shower, I spoke with Melissa, who acted as if she could care less that she lied to me or at the very least she has very bad communication skills, 2 days later. This was after I sent her an email asking her to please contact me immediately, shows how important customers are at this establishment. Melissa cut me off the entire conversation on the phone and continually argued that it didnt matter that she hadnt spoken to me since January, she had many customers who placed orders months out and she has always done business this way. Clearly she did not care that she robbed me of $220 as long as she gets paid so I figured maybe the store manager would be more understanding. Fat chance! The manager did the exact same thing, she cut me off at every chance, when I first asked for the store manager, instead of saying I am the manager she kept just saying "well the store manager isnt here how can I help you", making me repeatedly ask for the owner. She would not let me explain my issue, she kept cutting me, saying she did not understand, than tells me that her employee shouldve never taken my card number without confirming the order. I spent almost an hour on the phone arguing the same point, I asked this woman if my card would not be ran without speaking to me first and she said it would not be ran without hearing from me. She than said that it was a possible miscommunication, yea a miscommunication that I had to pay the price for, she than proceeded to hang up in my face!! These women robbed me of $220 for my son to go on his trip and refuse to give me a dime of my money back for their "miscommunications". I am really blown away that someone can be so horrible to a customer or run a business like this. Along with business owners, I also have lawyers in my family and she will definitely be hearing from one of them because I will be pursuing this in small claims court. I will never ever spend a cent with these crooks again and I hope that no other good paying person would support these crooks either.

I never write Yelp reviews, but there was no question about writing this one after my experience. STAY AWAY! For being in the food service industry, I would expect that the staff would be well-versed in customer service fundamentals and their product would be at least average. I ordered a $50 cake (half-sheet) for delivery. They were 30 minutes late on delivery and the cake was not what we ordered. The 2-layer cake only had 1 layer and was dry on the outside and under-cooked on the inside, making it pretty close to inedible. I called the manager, Heinz, to ask for a refund and calmly explained my reasons, at which point he began to be very combative. He told me that he spoke with the baker, who confirmed there were 2 layers. I offered to take pictures of the inside of the cake and send them to him, as Im sure the baker was mistaken. He then told me that I was treating him poorly, despite remaining calm and succinct. Remember, I am the customer here! The cake was delivered to my employers office and Heinz told me that he was a customer of my company for a long time and was unhappy about my complaint to him - completely backwards from the point of the call and contrary to the issue. I explained that my order from Outta The Oven had ZERO to do with my place of employment and that I paid him $50 for something I didnt get. After asking for the refund, he told me that it was "too late" because we ate the cake.

I have been coming here for about a year. And pretty much order the same thing. Even though the staff say hello, no one bothers to even make small talk or ask how my day was..they dont even know my name.. or even acknowledge that I do come there a lot.. which doesnt bother me really.. but what happened last week did bother me.. I came in around 11:30 in the afternoon.. ordered my usual plain omelette with turkey.. sat down.. and it took 43 minutes (I was keeping time) for my order to come out.. while I was waiting for my order, a total of 9 people came in after me, and their orders came out.. when my order finally arrived, no apologies and nothing was said about the fact that it took that long... I have never felt so unwanted at an establishment.. I guess my business isnt worth it.. thank goodness an original pancake house just opened up in irving.. that will be my new go to spot.. Done with Outta the Oven for good....

I found this place through a co-worker that kept bringing their awesome cookies to work. This is a cute cafe/ bakery that actually has a pretty good breakfast/ lunch menu on top of their bakery items. They always have a variety of tempting cookies, cupcakes, cakes, pies lined up when I walk in that are hard to pass up. The first time that I went I had the cobb salad and the chicken that comes with the salad is cold and has no flavoring- however the salad was beautifully prepared and fresh. They have the option of using their grilled chicken breast instead for a $2 adder- and I will definitely do that next time. I have also tried their sante fe wrap and I wouldnt change any thing on that- it was good and filled me up. Ive only sampled their cakes and everything that Ive tried is delicious. I would definitely check this out if you want to find a quiet little place for lunch- or if you are looking for a tasty treat.
