I’ve been living in the Houston area for almost three years and I’ve yet to find a BBQ place that’s worth my standards. See I’m originally from East Texas and my Step-Father owns a BBQ restaurant (Sheps BBQ in Palestine, Texas). I know good bbq when I taste it. Even Bodacious BBQ in Tyler (the one near I-20) is amazing. Maybe it’s a East Texas thing, but I need some good quality bbq in the H. Today I was seeing everyone and their grandpa posting bbq and omg my cravings were through the roof. So I decided to go to Pappas BBQ in Humble near 59/69. First off I looooveeee ribs to the point where I could eat them everyday. I ordered the full rack of baby backs, half a pound of beef sausage for the kiddos, green beans, mac & cheese, and sweet tea. Honestly the green beans, tea, and the seasoning on the ribs weren’t too bad. I just felt like it wasn’t thirty dollars worth of food. For that I could have went to Chili’s or went with my first mind and went to McAllister’s Deli. Plus I always say this, you can tell a good bbq place if the sauce taste right. That sauce was awful omg. It was so bitter and didn’t taste right at all. I’m disappointed because I thought Pappas was going to be legit and I listened to a few people’s recommendations too. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I’m a bit disappointed. Hopefully I’ll find a really good bbq place, but I won’t be going back to Pappas that’s for sure.

The ribs were undercooked. Very undercooked. There many vacant tables in the place on Sunday night at 19:00; however not a one of those tables was cleaned to accommodate incoming diners. The serve staff fishing out the food were not helpful to the customer before me because they answered in yes/no fashion without suggesting alternative sides to the customer. The serve staff were very young and looked and behaved as if they resented their work. I will not return to any Pappas BBQ based on this experience. Lastly, both BBQ sauce tubs were empty and no customer within the restaurant was able to ladle more sauce at the common area to take back to their table. And since there were no staff wandering amongst the tables to ask customers about their restaurant experience no customer had access to additional BBQ sauce. Pity.

We dine in and order to go! We love all of the Pappas chains. This particular instance I called an order for pick-up and when I showed up to pick up our order I realized I had ordered from the Pappas BBQ by my place of employment, other side of town, and not the one close to home. My cashier was SUPER friendly and helped me figure it all out. He set up my order and I did have to wait a while but that ended up being due to the fact that someone had messed up on one of the meals. They called my name and explained what happen and she was so sincere in her apology that it didnt bother me at all. They even gave me a free slice of their amazing cheesecake! The food was still hot by the time I got home, a good 15 minutes away. I recommend this place! Awesome food at awesome prices. So worth it!

One experience so maybe faulted--but anyone saying fall off the bone is seriously in error very very tough meat beef ribs--mine at home turn out much better and I would never do more than 4 hours max---sauce though subjective to personal taste was one of the worse I have ever tasted. Service at counter was OK but a group of 7-8 Mexican looking men blocked entrance to dining room from counter and I has to raise my voice saying "excuse me" drawing attention from a group of police officers eating there. (hope it was free for them). When I could through hands and teeth remove meat from my $20 for 4 beef ribs from the bone, I went to counter and asked for a sharp knife told I only could use the butter knifes which were on the counter---basically a bad experience--would never return again.

The two stars I give is because the food is decent. The staff however is rude. Went to the front counter where the family in front of us had to get food taken off their tray because another employee put the wrong size by mistake. Instead of acknowledging the employees mistake, DEBRA made them wait until the other employee switched it out. All the while we waited to get cookies through the long line only for her to say, "Oh, we out! Been out!" So then, I replied hat they should inform their staff becaus hey advised us to wait in line. She said, "Oh they didnt know, we out!" She was rude and their staff is lacking in customer service.

The food was really sub-par. There are many better BBQ places around for about the same price. Both BBQ sauces were awful, and the baked beans were crunchy. The fries we ordered for our 2 year old didnt come until we were halfway through the meal. The were burning hot, drenched in oil, and hard in the middle. Not even my 2 year old would eat them when they cooled off. In addition, the service was terrible. We stood in line about 20 minutes with only 3 people before us. We had to remind them we ordered a baked potato and fries. We will not return, and I highly suggest driving 5 minutes further for good food.

Im on a fairly restricted diet and have shrunk my stomach so that it doesnt take much to fill me up. I have been craving BBQ so I stopped at the location on FM1960 and Hwy 59 in Humble TX. I wanted a kids meal BBQ chopped beef sandwich with fries and a small drink. They wouldnt sell it to me. Told me I would have to pay for the bun separate which made no sense to me and I ended up paying $10.00 for a sandwich, fries and a drink for that should have been $4.95. Their sauce is horrible anyway. Sorry I went against my own better judgement on this deal. Wont be back!

This place has great breakfast tacos or more like burritos, they are huge! Every weekday they have a different taco of the day for only $1.50. Like Monday they have the bacon taco, Tuesday its the ham taco, Wednesday its the chorrizo taco, Thursday its the sausage taco and Friday they have the potato. Included in every taco is egg and cheese. You cant go wrong with their breakfast tacos and of course their regular food is great as well.

We visited on a day that there was a deal for an all you can eat ribs plate. I was very impressed by the ribs and on the day that I visited the meat really was falling off the bone. The restaurant was in a very unlikely location, but once I started to eat the food I no longer much cared where it was located, nor what it looked like outside. I enjoyed the food and prices were really very good.

Had a small get together here. The only thing I ate was the macaroni and cheese. I ordered a chopped beef poboy and they slathered it over the hard bread. It looked terrible and I couldnt even pick it up to eat it. The bread was tough and the meat had way too much sauce and the texture wasnt good. I ate about 3 bites of it and left it there.
