My family and I have been to Tio Chuchos three times, and each time has been a pleasure. The decor has personality and is pleasant (¡muchas ranas!). Every bit of food Ive had has been wonderful. Last night I ordered a stuffed, fried avocado — and it was excellent. My wife and sons loved theirs as well. The chips are served warm and crispy, and they come with a variety of salsas. As to service: the first two times, service was excellent: friendly, responsive, perfect. Last night, however, the main server lacked. He wasnt in any way unfriendly or rude, but he also wasnt particularly friendly or patient. He ended up bringing my wife the wrong meal, did not apologize, and did not follow through on his promise to check to see if the price should be adjusted. (She just ate it... and she loved it!) That said, we will surely be back for the food, for the fact that the other serving experiences were very positive, and on the charitable assumption that perhaps the gentleman was having a bad night. It happens. Plus: the assistant server who brought drinks and chips and salsa and all was every bit as excellent as our previous experiences had been. He kept us in drinks and chips and everything else he could do, could not have been better. So that ameliorates the whole. In sum: good prices, decent decor, EXCELLENT food, and 2/3 of the time superb service. I recommend it!

My boyfriend and I have been going for years...we are regulars.The staff knows us and they are friendly...and the price is good and so is the food!!! I order things not even on the menu and they will cook it for me....I have taken friends and family many times and they have all agreed the food is great and when they come to town they want to go back! You cant go wrong with the margaritas or salsa or any food....Its all good! If you want a good waiter ask for Tabo or Herberto and most of the time Mama Chucho herself is running around the place too! I highly recommend this place to anyone!! Tammy

The food is good, BUT whenever I order to go the orders NEVER be the same. Example: 1 time I didnt get the rice, 2) The beans and rice came in the container or separate small containers 3) the rice was in the same foam container as the guacamole and the pico and lettuce. Hot foods are NOT supposed to be packaged with Cold foods!! It doesnt do any good to complain because one of the brothers says its pointless to say anything to the cooks because the cooks does what they want to do. WOW, I never heard of employees being able to prepare dishes how they choose to.

As a chef who was raised in a boarder town, I would rate this as the best mexican restaurant in Texas. It is without a doubt authentic and the attention to detail is like no other. It started with perfectly carbonated drinks and FRESH fried chips. Then on to the out of this world enchiladas. The rice and beans were top notch too. I am truly unhappy I didnt hear about this place sooner but there is no doubt that when I feelin up for some mexican, I will come here... No need to try anywhere else, it simply doesnt get better

This place is disgusting. I had to ask multiple times for clean plates since there was dried food still on them. The silverware was the same. The queso was like a soup with no flavor. The waiter was inattentive and seemed not to care about providing at a minimum decent service. Ive worked as a server in the past and cut servers and restaurants slack, but this place is just gross. Paid our tab for queso, lemonade and 1 margarita and went to Mamacitas instead. Also, there was dried food on the menus.

La francesca thought it would be cute to hit my nephew with a straw on the head. If i werent in public she would be wearing the bar. I told the hostess in the front what happened and i kindly had a new waitress. Rude rude rude women. Luckily for her i have class. Other than that....the food was great.She didnt even have the decency to return to the table and apologise.If i were her manager id fire her immediately.Matter of fact shes lucky i dont sew her for touching an innocent baby.

Having lived in the Texas valley and visiting the Texas/Mexico border often, I can vouch for Tio Chuchos Mexican food. Its delicious and priced right. My husband and I are regulars, and theres always a new surprise for us. On a recent and particularly cold day, we were given complimentary bean soup before our meal. Thats just one example of the staffs hospitality. You can tell the place is ran by family, and you feel like part of the family when youre there as well.

Friendly neighborhood place. Ive been here about 7 times now with my family. The margaritas are great. The chips and salsa are always good. Weve been trying different menu items and we are always pleased. Todays taco salad was a bit soggy on the bottom but was still pretty good. I love the enchiladas and the bacon wrapped shrimp the most but the fajitas are plentiful and great to share. We have always had great service here.

I use to love to come here until I saw a huge roach crawling on the floor. I told myself I will never go there again but, someone I use to be friends with told me, it probably came from outside. So I decide to try again, and the next time and last time I went, It was a roach crawling on our table. I was to done... So if you go there, please pay attention of any type of bugs.

Ive been here with a co-worker for lunch 3 times so far. The service is fast and great! They have delicious daily lunch specials and a vast menu. Youre sure to find something that youd like. I have enjoyed a few dishes more than another, but overall we enjoy it and we keep returning!

If tio chucho paid as much attention to their quality of food as they do their frog decor, the food might be ok. The fajitas were inferior to any Ive had and no im not upset. The service was great but I must give an honest review.

The Wednesday special is good and cheap . I normally have no issues with the quality of the chicken enchiladas. It cost $8.00 for 2 chicken enchiladas, beans and rice, and as much chips and salsa you can eat, so I cant complain.

First Mexican restaurant Ive been to that does not serve rice and beans with the combination dinners. You have to pay $1.50 extra. $7.99. My husband ordered 2 tacos only, $5.99. Ridiculous. Wont be going back.....

Been going to Tios every week for the last 3 years. Food is good, gold margaritas are phenomenal all at very fair prices. Anytime we have out of town guests, we take them there every visit.
