My friends have I been going to Del Pueblo since my family moved here in 1996 - we were here when it was destroyed in a fire, and we were here when it built back up. Every friend Ive had that has visited Houston has left wanting to come back simply for this restaurant. This isnt "Mexican" cuisine. There are few restaurants that advertise Mexican food that actually serve it, but if youre looking for fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas, tacos, and more, well, this is the right place. As far as Tex-Mex is concerned, you wont find anything else in the immediate area that beats it for value and food quality. Not Los Cucos, not El Palenque closer to HP - nothing, really. The parking lot in the evening speaks for what the average person thinks about the place. Service is usually pretty good. At worst it can be average, and at best it can be outstanding. Even on the subpar days, if youre willing to speak up or flag down an employee, everything goes just as quick as usual. The atmosphere is great. I never feel bad about going, the place is well decorated for all seasons and holidays, and the live music nights are pretty nice to have in the background. The food is great for the price. Del Pueblo does not skimp on portion size, and youll often find yourself wondering what to do with all the meat on your plate, especially if you order fajitas or carne asada often. On a rare occassion the meat can be a bit tough, but this happens less than 5% of the times Im there. I wont deny it, though. Im a fan of their salsa and their ranchero salsa. Del Pueblos tortillas are amazing. Its obvious theyre cooked with lard, so theyre not that healthy, but they are good - likely the tastiest Ive had in my life. I guess if youre some sort of super connoisseur, you might find that the food isnt elegant enough for you, but as I mentioned earlier, the parking lot speaks for itself. Give it a try, at the very least.

I would not go here if you have a baby in a car seat. They only have the old high chairs with a high back on them. They turn them upside down to hold the car seat and its very unstable. I wasnt really comfortable putting my son in the upside-down high chair in the first place, but I didnt want to make a big deal about it. I set him up in it and 20 minutes later he shifted his weight and it tipped over. Thank God he was (a) strapped in and (b) I caught it before it hit the ground. Everyone around us was alarmed. So many restaurants today have the slings designed to hold car seats and they are not very expensive. When we talked to the manager about it, she was very dismissive - even when we told her we wouldnt come back until they had the slings designed for car seats. They handled the whole situation very poorly.

The food here is simply poor quality, and we probably wont be going back soon. I remember eating here over ten years ago and it was really good then. Management change? Economy? The chicken meat used in the enchiladas and quesadillas is tough - forget cutting these with a fork. Either overcooked to begin with, or perhaps left in a warmer too long. The quesadillas were very bland - no amount of salsa could rescue. On the previous occasion, the outdoor service was very bad - slow and forgetful. The typical Mexican sides like rice and beans have a poor flavor, too. All of the food seems too oily, and the taste of lard is prominent in every dish.

Although the food it good the service is a bit lacking.. I was in there this past Sunday for breakfast. had a breakfast taco, coffee and another beverage which totaled to $14.52. I asked for an itemized bill as those eating with me with the same items have a bill that was much less. I did not get an itemized bill but the waiter said he took off $3.50 from the bill. I checked my bank this morning and they charged me $14.52. I wont be as happy going there if they cant get their billing down. We go nearly every Sunday and still they have not had brains enough to figure out we get separate bills. This is really frustrating.

As a Realtor my profession takes me all over this great city of Houston! One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Cyfair / Cypress is Del Pueblo Mexican Restaurant. Why is that some might ask? well, consistency in the food especially the FAJITAS!! My husbands favorite dessert is the FLAN, honestly I have tried this infamous dessert in numerous restaurants and this FLAN is the best ever! I rate this restaurant today a five-star due to the fact that their consistency in the quality of the food has never failed my taste buds. HATS OFF TO DEL PUEBLO MEXICAN RESTAURANT!!!

Taco ground beef meat tasted like it had no seasonings and appeared to be boing in a pott of water. Real mexican food, especially ground beef taco mean is never boiled. The refried beans were bland. The rice was above average compared to other resturants. The cheese used in the kids cheese quesadilla was of poor quality and my son refused to eat it. I myself purchased the chimichanga. I know what a real one supposed to taste like and it was very disappointing. We wont be going back thats for sure.

New favorite! They are going non-smoking per a sign posted on the door. I was discouraged by reviews on smell of smoke, I didnt notice, but am happy they are making this change! Moved here a year ago and have been on the hunt for good TexMex. There is A LOT to choose from out here, and we may have tried them all (just about) but this hit the mark on every level. Clean Good service Easy parking Lots of tables (no wait) Good salsa Good queso Solid fajitas! Reasonably priced

Good food and good service and we love their Margarita. We have been going there for many many years. Their food is always consistent and we have no complaint about their service. We love their happy hour and Wednesday margarita special. They used to be crowded all the time. I guess due to the economy their business is slow now which suits us better. Now we can dine in a quiet environment and in and out in no time.

The food is outstanding and is the real deal if you like Tex Mex. We will be going back when we are in Houston again. Way better than most other places and the prices are not too bad...Update: Went back and tried it again and was not as happy with the food. It wasnt as fresh and didnt taste as good. Service was good but the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Queso was on the money though.

ranges in my opinion from only average-to-good: the atmosphere and service is why I come here. Ive found the staff and many regular customers to be friendly, funny and accomodating and I generally leave feeling like I had as good of a time as they did! The place usually has a good crowd on Sunday evenings, too. Margaritas specials are good: not the best Ive had but good value.
