Simply Amazing!!! I love "hole in the wall" seafood joints, and Playa Azul is at the top of my favorites list. Service--EXCELLENT. Our server made sure our glasses were always full, and our food was brought to the table quickly. In fact, my bowl of gumbo arrived 2 minutes after ordering. Food--EXCELLENT. I had the Playa Azul platter and a bowl of gumbo. The gumbo was as good as any Ive ever had--even New Orleans!!! The fried food was very good--light breading, and added just enough flavor. Oysters were fantastic, too. As far as one reviewer stated; "this place is obviously not for white ppl"--thats just a racist and uneducated remark!!! Sorry, but the "whites only" crap went out decades ago. Yes, Playa Azul is run by Hispanics--so what??? Makes the food better. Bottom line--well be eating here again!!!

First of, the food was very fresh and tasty! Upon entering I was surprised at how few patrons there were, it was 17:30 after all, but the answer came very soon after we seated ourselves. The two people working in the front were much more interested in the TV and their cell phones, then they were in customer service; the female became somewhat belligerent when I was trying to get her attention. This very low level of interest remained this way throughout our visit, and is the reason we will not be back, and most likely the reason the place was deserted. Too bad really, because the food was great, and the cook seemed to be the only caring employee in the place.

The food is pretty decent. While it may not be the greatest in the world for the price it is a good buy. Ive never had to send an under back and their hush puppies are amazing. Youd think thats an easy to prepare item, but youd be wrong. A lot of places would prove that wrong, not here though. While its usually family friendly when I go in, it still presents a bar like feel, and some of the customers will give you funny looks if you walk in there with kids in tow. Theyre also usually pretty fast. Id recommend them to just about anyone.

We ve been coming here for 4-5 years their food was great back then. Now its not the same seems like flavor is missing waitress got my husband order wrong twice. Still managed to charge us she was rude didnt come back to give us our change instead she sent the bus boy. He was more attentive than she was its a shame we drove 1 hr to go eat there (it was our fav. Spot before) just to be disappointed. I hope they get better people

I ordered take out and found hair in my soup. I called and was hung up on 3 times while put on hold. I finally talked to a rude gentlemen who said It happens" He did not apologize and he continued to say it could be my HAIR! I was really offended and felt like this was rude and unprofessional. I will never eat there again.

Was not impressed with the food. They need to improve. Service was horrible and will not be coming back. I had a shrimp cocktail and I got a cold shrimp soup. With no flavor. Also got some fried fish and they tasted like they been frozen for months nothing was fresh.

Dont let the outside fool you. The building used to be a Wendys and is a run down strip center. However the food inside is soooo good and the beer is cold! The ceviche is amazing and definitely fresh. The only thing I wish for is delivery service!

Hot and fresh fried fish , shrimp, and jalapeños ! Micheladas , gumbo and all the fixings ! Theres never a wait for a seat unlike other places in the area (which dont have tables) but its always busy !
