My review is solely based on service. Several times Ive been here for lunch since I work close to the restaurant. The OLD WAITRESS needs to go. Upon entering Ive noticed that she will attempt to ignore my presence or act as if I never walked in. But yesterday the same exact thing happened to me and while I was waiting to be seated two people walked in and she immediately acknowledged their presence and proceeded to seat them looking over me as if i werent there. The place is small so theres no way she didnt see me. After some time she acted as if it were s mistake she didnt see me there and seated me serving me only a tea then avoiding my table for 30 minutes. Well by this time my lunch break is about up and Im hungry havent ordered anything and irritated. So I paid for the tea and left. I will NEVER eat here again. TO THE OWNERS: The resturant business is to hard of a business for your employees to give horrible service. The old waitress should wait on all your patrons the same. She never once greeted me with a smile or promptly. I would hate to assumr that its because Im African American however over the past 8 years that Ive visited your establishment Ive noticed the difference in her service towards myself and other African American customers. There are also other sushi restaurants that will be grateful for the clientel your employees are basicly shoving out your door.

I have been going to Koto to get great sushi for some time, but notice the service going downhill lately. The last time my daughter and I went, the waitress was very unattentive and rude. The place was not packed, but people who had been seated after us were getting their food before the waitress came to take our order. The food took a while, was served without plates and a spicy tuna roll was missing. After about 10 minutes of trying to flag down the waitress, I got up and asked for the tuna roll and plates. The plates and roll came about 10 minutes later. I also had to get up to get the check. I understand that servers make a fraction of minimum wage and they work off of tips. I usually tip around 25%, but this bunch didnt get a dime out of me. Never been treated so rudely by a server before. Will never go back!!!

Serendipity for sure! Found this little place by luck and I am never going elsewhere for sushi anymore. It is so tasty I went with 2 others and we ordered the fried baby octopus along with about 10 rolls or so it was just sooo tasty every single roll we ordered was so scrumptious, and the pricing is very affordable. The presentation is beautiful and all in all the place is super peaceful. Definitely recommend! The seating is instant upon arriving and the wait for the food isnt long at all.

My husband and I have been going there once a week for the past year. WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Their service is excellent, place is cozy, and their sushi is just so darn good. The prices are incredible that, even after a year, were still shocked a little when the bill comes. We cant believe how affordable it is for the great quality were getting. We definitely recommend it! And do yourself a favor by trying the lobster roll.. YUM!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Tucked away in a strip mall and very unassuming, they have the freshest, best tasting sushi at an extremely affordable price. They have all new special rolls that are fantastic.. try the Josh roll with jalapeno for a kick. I recently ate at a "hipper" place and was very disappointed in the flavor of the fish. Koto is not much on atmosphere, but really, really good food.

Great prices and delicious obento boxes - the seaweed salad is actually my favorite thing here. However, I dont like their tempura much - sort of a heavy frying, and with a weirdish taste - and their sushi isnt super. Still, the obento are a great deal, with three types of salad, miso soup, six nigiri, a main dish, and oranges. Really nice atmosphere, and good service.

i love this place, i have visited quiet a few times with my boyfriend and this is our favorite sushi bar, the sushi is delicious, also their tempura dishes are delicious, atmosphere has a really good vibe to it and really nice service. lady and everyone working there are always in a good mood! Love this place 10/10

The best sushi in houston. Ive been to many different sushi restaurants, and none of them even compare to this one. Its cheap here but the quality is high. The waitresses are nice and I respect them for working so hard. Also, the sushi guys are really cool and seem to be very clean. Great place overall. 5 ✨

Food was a disappointment , we ordered 6 different menu items , an all where the same as Kroger made sushi. And there dragon hurts your esophagus when eating. All in all , save your money for something els. Service was okay though. Other than that the experience was like any other

This is probably the worst restaurant sushi that I ever had. It was worse than Supermarket sushi. None of the fish had a good taste, the seaweed was dank, and the rice mealy. Even the wasabi was weak, and the ginger had no crispness.

Stick with the sushi, teriyaki, yakisoba and such. Udon was good, but a bit too heavy for my taste – definitely more of a winter dish than summer dish! That being said, myself and the others that joined me all had a great meal.

Ate her last week while on a business trip to Houston. All I can say is all the hype is well deserved. Both the service and food were outstanding. There are great deals to be had at Happy Hour, so be sure to check that out.

I came here once, years ago, and wasnt impressed. I work nearby now and come over for lunch frequently. They have really great lunch specials, from bento boxes to roll combos. Their sushi is not the best, but its not too bad.

This is one of our favorite restaurants period. The price is extremely affordable and the interior is very cozy. It is rarely crowded so getting a table is always fast. Strongly recommend it for both groups or dates.

Came here for lunch one day and had the beef don. Food was ok but what I didnt like too much was the place which looks a bit dated inside. I will come again to try other dishes for lunch, but not a 5 stars so far.

Excellent sushi and ice cream! Very good pricing on specialty rolls and they have the most common rolls for under $3. Great service, pretty atmosphere, and they even have a tiny koi pond! Loved it.

After eating sushi here, you wont want it from anywhere else, good value for money. I recommend the Chirashi sushi. Assorted peices of sushi on a bed of rice comes with house salad and miso soup.
