My review score for Jones Fried Chicken consists of a 4 out of 5 for the food, and 3 out of five for the building. I am really glad that theres a restaurant where I can get my fix of lamb over rice halal food, similar to what you can get in NYC. The building is located in Sharpstown, and it’s not really the prettiest place to leisurely eat your meal. No, I much prefer to wait in the drive through and take my order home. Be prepared to wait! We used the drive through, and even though it was 8:00 on a weeknight, I could see a small crowd of people waiting inside to order. At least 2 cars waiting behind us in the drive through backed up and drove away. Despite the unattractive building and the long wait, the food is well worth it. We ordered a large lamb over rice to share, and an order of 6 chicken wings. The chicken wings are huge! Jones Fried Chicken gives you the whole wing, not just a piece of it, like most restaurants. The lamb over rice--the real reason we came to Jones--was great, just like expected. I guess you can never say anything is really better than the original that started it all--Halal Guys NYC--but if you can find something close to it, and in your own city, that’s a pretty good deal.

WILL BE CALLING THE HEALTH INSPECTOR! The restaurant is dirty and smells, I ordered a 2 pice with fries and a "so called" chicken sandwich because you cant spend under $10 if you want to pay with card which is idiotic well the chicken flat bread thing was drenched in some white sauce I mean drenched couldnt taste much of anything else the fried chicken was from the day or days before it was dry and leathery when I bit into the leg I got a foul bitter taste I had to spit it out and light a cigarette to get the taste out of my mouth the only thing I ate in the whole meal was about 17 fries and even those where like plastic tough and almost transparent I had never seen such a thing I dumped everything in the trash also the staff where name calling me in Spanish like imbeciles not knowing that I speak it as well I did not say anything back because Im a civil human being but I know they found out I knew what they where saying when I smurked as one of them laughed about taking a bunch of food home and saying curse words about the owner, when they saw me smurke one of them got embarrassed and said sorry when he gave me the food the other one kept on bad mouthing anything in sight horrible place.

OK the place isnt a palace but if you like good fried chicken that is a little different than the K*FC /C*hurches/P*opeyes then give this a shot. They do not appear to cook the fish in the same fat as the chicken. I know another place that did that and the chicken tasted like fish and they didnt last long. They appear to have some cornmeal in the breading. The first time I stopped by i was non-plussed by the chicken but one day about a week later i got a heck of a hankering for the taste of this fried chicken and went back. I mean 5 whole wings plus a roll for $3.99 or with fries, $4.99 how can it miss. The owners work on the premises from what I can tell and the place is always clean enough Im a grump when it comes to restaurants and there arent many places I go around this part of town due to bad service, total crap cold food, etc but this one i sort of have grown to really like and i am going more and more it seems. Dont be shy go order the wings and see. I think theyll grow on you. Especially if you are tired of the regular offerings that you can get everyday at the franchise establishments. If you want entertained and atmosphere go to chuck e cheese.

If you havent tried the chicken n rice on Manhattan in NY then you are not going to appreciate this. I have so I really like this place and think the food is 90% close to the Manhattan carts taste. The only thing is its pricy for a chicken/lamb plate @ $9. But you get ample food for one person for two meals. It is delicous and half healthy. Now, I had two different experiences. Once when I went to eat there and 2nd when I went through the drive through. The first time was the best. Amazing taste and so much white sauce and hot sauce. The second time I was in a rush and just asked him for the hot sauce, he told me he had put enough so he just gave me some extra white sauce. To my disappointment, it wasnt spicy at all and the white sauce he gave me was ranch. LOL. Anyways, If I am paying $9 for a plate I better get extra sauces because I dont want to be eating dry food. This place needs a good cleaning. The cook needs to cover his thick beard with something I dont know why the health department hasnt told them that already. Theyre half restaurant half car dealership lol. But overall, great taste! Will go back there.

I waited a lengthy period of time for my order and thereafter, I was given the wrong order. I didnt observe this until arriving home. I drove back and it was relayed to me that they had my order (i.e. the accurate order). Upon observing the accurate order, I noticed that there was a disgusting amount of white sauce all over my food. Ive been coming here for over 2 years and have never experienced such service; there are currently new individuals working here and the service is quite poor. Moreover, I verbally expressed my dissatisfaction with the amount of sauce all over the food and an employee relayed we always put sauce on the food and I thereafter mentioned coming there for 2 years and relayed that it is always placed on the side. Why would you not leave me with an option to choose how I would like to consume my food; you smoother sauce all over my food (rice, meat, and salad). I only came here out of convenience, however, coming to this low-class, poor service restaurant again is out of the question.

They have great tasting combos with a price tag that simply cannot be beat in houston. Chicken kabab, kafta kabab, beef kabab, chicken, lamb, fish & shrimp over rice are among the best tasting platters i have eaten in Houston. They can make it in spicy rice for you upon request and its worth it. Their white sauce is out of the world. Order a large meal and youll be satisfied with the amount served unlike many other places. They are open till 5 a.m. unlike any other restaurant. Another thing i love about this joint is that they can take orders by phone and have a drive thru as well. Only reason this place is not getting a 5 star that their food deserves greatly is because of the poor organizatuon inside the place. It comes of as a cheap joint and the staff takes quite some visits to become friendly once they know you as a regular. Be advised that their will be long waits, its busy all the time. Best thing is to call ahead and pick up at the drive thru. Regardless, i love their food.
