We went to the one on Dairy Ashford due to all of the glowing online reviews. Ill admit that the high ceilings and hotel lobby decor was an interesting, and potentially welcome, surprise. The food was laid out colorfully, and held visual promise. This was the last point where I felt that the glowing reviews justified the venue. The food on the buffet is medium to cold temperature, where it should be warm to hot. The whole venue suddenly appeared to be exactly what it is; an over-sized, overpriced, feeding trough. The waitstaff was okay.. They are trained to scan the "feeders" (the dignity that renders one a "diner" is long gone by this point) and splash some tap water into glasses or drop a check with a few fortune cookies on the tray. By the way, they keep these cookies in a huge bowl near the exit area of the "feeding room", but Ill bet if you tried to grab some, youd get a swift ninja kick from behind from one of the wait staff. As the feeding process progresses, they dont look all that happy for you to be there. Dont order coffee. Thats not made fresh (or even today?) Mine turned a dismal shade of gray when I dumped my mini-moo creamer into it. And stay away from the mints at the desk that looks like a hotel check-in, they are moist and I dont want to know why...say was there actually an upstairs to this place for clandestine operations??...I swear that the overall vibe in this place is that everyone is up to something and the wrong question in the right ear will get you subtly "shanked" in the parking lot. I also saw the "great price!" sentiment repeated multiple times in the reviews. Great price? If 14.60 per plate for cold food from a feeding trough is your idea of a great deal...wellll...then Im speechless. Oink! Wont go back to any of them.. dont like ...Im sure that the feeling is now mutual.

The food is great, love the food! But today, our server was a lady, who ruined our experience there. Example, my family go and get their food, sit down and she asks my family if we want the ticket seperate? She didnt even take our drinks yet..That kinda caught us off guard but I tried to think nothing of it. Then my dad wanted the utensil you use to crack open crabs/ other seafood. She told my dad " You can get yourself over there, ok?" My dad is someone who goes there quite often, and he says usually he has to ask. She then did bring it to us. Finally she hands us our check, my husband likes to pay with his card and leave a tip in cash on the table or gives it personally to the server. Well my husband hands her the card and she opens it right there in front of us and saw that he scratched out on the receipt 0 for tip. She turned to my husband and said "No Tip, you no write tip" Pointing to the zero. Wow! We thought. She wasnt very kind to us to begin with and that really sucks cause we were there to celebrate my brothers birthday. And anyway my husband was always gonna leave her a tip. We know being a server isnt easy, but you gotta work for the tip. And if you know you did a crappy job, then you better believe you are getting a crappy tip! She got a dollar.

There are a lot of food choices and the hibachi is a plus. But I was not happy with our service overall. My mom loves buffets so I reserved a table for 30 for her birthday (her choice of location) -_- They said theyd put us in their "diamond room" with an extra table for cake, presents and decorations. Im thinking a private room like China Bear buffet off 45 right? Wrong. To my surprise it was shared with 50+ ppl. It was so awkward and too late to change the location. To make it worse our waitress was horrible. When it was time to cut the cake i asked for plastic forks and for 30 ppl she handed me 5 and said, "no more!". Im thinking htf a big place like this runs out of forks?! I walked to the front counter and asked for more and the younger azn lady gave me an entire box! Waitress witnessed this and started yelling at the girl; they argued for a bit. The rest of the night she had an attitude, griping and groaning about God knows what! It was not a pleasant experience. She didnt collect finished plates on a timely manner either; we hardly had table space while eating.

I had the worst experience tonight. I arrived with a friend around 9. We began getting harassed by Mike (he appeared to be a manager) around 9:35pm. He told us the buffet area was closing and we needed to get our food. Five minutes later they brought us the check and returned five minutes later and demanded we pay. We gave them our card and they brought us back the paid receipt. Not even two minutes later they ask us to sign. Then at 9:55pm, Mike comes and asks us to leave while we are still eating and lets us know theyre closed. I told them they close at ten and he looks at his watch and says, "Seriously...its just three minutes." I told him were paying customers and asked for a refund and he told me no. I asked for his managers name and number and he hands me a menu with the restaurant number. Keep in mind, for their minutes the waiters and bus boys were hovering over us. Ive never experienced anything quite like this.

Well I just got back from the Hibachi Grill and Buffet not all too soon, my better half and me have not stopped running to the bathroom. Nothing sanitary in that place, went to get some food on the buffet and there was a couple getting food from the buffet with the plates they had already used. I saw a tray of silverware come out and the wash guy dropped one on the floor, looked around and put it back in the canister. Went over to get Ice Cream and you are able to serve yourself, no one serving for you. SOOO one scooper to get any flavor and get this, when I was walking over a guy had just got his Ice Cream and then handed the scooper to the woman and child waiting, when they finished they handed me the scooper and I said no thank you. Anyway, we are both sick now and I will never return to this establishment.

The food is usually good, but lately has been greasy. Also, if you order water to drink, the water tastes funny like the filter hasnt been changed in a long time. Bathroom cleanliness has been an issue every time Ive been there with toilet paper on the floor, toilets not flushed, and poop in the toilets...... And I see the servers sitting at tables in the back section playing with their phones all the time. No wonder it takes so long for drinks to get refilled. The place has gone downhill in terms of cleanliness, if the water is safe to drink, service, and food quality. For $16-$18 per person, you would expect better. If you like Buffet, youre probably better off driving to Bellaire off Beltway 8 in the Chinatown area.
