Came here after a total fail at Altos Pizzeria around the corner. 4:20 pm Saturday. Saw executive chef step outside, asked if food was good, he said no thats why he was leaving and smiled. I went in. He came back in as I was ordering. Two couples in the place. Nice but not over stated. Greeted immediately and seated. Had menu and wine list within 30 seconds and a server who asked if I had been here before, etc. Great reception. I had a hard time ordering because it is a great menu for someone by themselves in late afternoon. Good choice of small to large treats: Pizza, mussels, fish, different bites, cheeses, entrees that include chicken, salmon, lamb, tuna, etc. I settled on a pear and Gorganzola pizza. It was presented perfectly by the executive chef in a small copper circle and the appearance was - stunning. A truly beautiful pizza. It is thin (I like thin crust), he asks if I would like some red pepper sprinkles or additional mozarella. I like pepper. The pizza is white (bianco) and has thin nicely sliced pear with a perfect amount of cheese. To taste it is to be amazed on a couple of levels: The pear is sweet it is not an afterthought on the pizza, the Gorganzola is lightly offset in a way that it allows you to taste the pear, but the very best part is that the clover and honey is perfect. With that and the caramelized onion on the bottom, I actually thought it was truffle oil. Most places over do additional flavors like this and you lose everything. This is truly a perfect pizza. They serve wine flights, etc. but even if you dont drink wine I would say it would be sad to miss out on food like this. I shall bring a few friends the next time.

The wine flights offer is such a perfect way to taste a variety of wines without having to commit to a glass. There so many wine options I always go there to explore and expose my pallet to whats new. The food left a lot to be desired. Beyond the pizza, the menu isnt anything to rave about, nor the draw. The portion Sizes are skimpy considering majority of the consumption is wine.

I absolutely loved this place! I had the gorgonzola and fig bruschetta for an appetizer and a white wine flight. I also ordered the sea bass over risotto and it was so succulent and delicious. I went for a date and I loved it a little noise-y but other than that it was worth it. Parking is crazy and so is the traffic over there (Upper Kirby). Service was magnificent. Will be back:-)

I visted crew for a #Culturemap event, so I didnt really get to experience Cru for what it is. But I can tell you that they have great happy hour on Thursday where bottles of champs are 50% off. The parking can be ridiculous as everyone tries to squeeze in the garage and I dont blame them!!

We love the wine knowledge and seletion of our favorite waiter John! We enjoy the service and the atmosphere is top-notch! The kitchen makes the best dishes and the outdoor space is very enjoyable. I would eat here for breakfast but mimosas every day may be a little much :^)

My girlfriends and I go to Cru regularly for girls nights and we love it! The wine flights are a fun way to discover new wines. And their pizzas are great! Service can be hit or miss, so go expecting a leisurely dinner.

Showed up at 10:30 to try their brunch and the place is closed. Their hours online show them to be open at 10:30 so not sure what the deal is. Dont waste your time going here for Sunday brunch.

This place is great! We had a really large group and they accommodated as best as possible, so sweet. Bites can get pricey so make sure to go for happy hour. Try out the flights - all of them!!

Waiters there are really grabby. Every two minutes I heard "Excuse me, but I wasnt done with that . " they tried to take my dish too after about 15 minutes . The place wasnt even half full.
