My husband and I went to Mutts this weekend, and as we walked in with our 2 dogs, we were approached by a younger female African American employee who asked if one of our dogs was a Pit Bull. We responded that we adopted him and arent completely sure, but that to the best of our knowledge he is an American Pit Bull Terrier, which is a type of Pit Bull (there are about 5 types of "Pit Bulls" - its like saying a dog is a "Hound" instead of a Basset or a Beagle). She seemed satisfied, and let us in, but told us that it was Mutts policy to not to allow fully bred Pit Bulls. This infuriated us. A Pit Bull by definition is a mix of a Bull Dog and a Terrier. Our Pit Bull is the sweetest, most loving dog, more so than our Beagle, who can get territorial, completely in reverse of the perception of the two breeds. I have met more than my fair share of Chihuahuas, Doxens, and German Shepards that are aggressive and non-sociable to other people and dogs - Just because a dog is a certain breed in no way indicates the personality of the dog. Its about how the dog was raised and is treated, very similar to humans. Additionally, there were no signs posted about breed restrictions, nor is it posted on the website. We saw at least 3 other Pit Bulls in the park that day, and asked one of the owners if he had also been hassled about the breed. He said he had not, but that he had called ahead, and was only told that a dog needed to be fixed and well behaved. Each time we go to Mutts, we pay for entry fees and at least $60 in food and drinks every few weeks. If this is how you run your dog park, we will not be returning ever again

Awful experience! Our first time and we wont return. Where should I begin? Dog park, the employees inside are useless, I had to pick up after my dog and ended up with poop on my shoes at the end of the day cause the employees dont do their job. There was an aggressive dog and nobody did anything, we had to pull our dogs out because of that dog, we told the employees and manager and they said they couldnt do anything about it, one of my dogs ended up with a bite. Restaurant, the service is the worst Ive seen, we sat there unattended for about 15 minutes, I went and find a waiter to come and clean our table and take our order and his first question, I swear to god, was "has anybody been to your table yet?", brilliant. Besides you could see other waiters walking around trying to figure out to what table did the food they were holding belong to. Food took long and was nothing special, besides the order was wrong and we needed to wait even longer to get it right, oh, the draft beer that they supposedly have 4 choices but they only had two. So, my suggestion, grab a coffee, go to your nearest dog park for free and avoid this place.

My favorite place to go :) the food is great, they also serve a doggie dog and ice cream for the four leggeds, which my dog loves! They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from and the staff are always friendly! They dont pick up as soon as the dogs poop, but they do have attendants that regularly walk around and pick up poop, fill water dishes, and check on the guests. This is not a typical restaurant and you cant go in there expecting to get waited on hand and foot, theyll bring you drinks and food, but there are usually many other guests that the attendants are also attending to! Mutts canine Cantina is my favorite place to go, because my dog gets to have fun while Im out having a good time, instead of him being cooped up at home. The bottom line is, that it is still a dog park and accidents can and do happen, you cannot hold the park or employees responsible for what another persons dog does. They are expected to leave at the first sign of aggression, and most owners do! All in all I love it because my dog loves it, and it makes us happy :)

Ive only been here once, and I had a HORRIBLE experience. They refused to sell (Over priced, however good and strong) alcohol to my friend on her birthday. They dont make the small dogs stay in the small dog park. There was one person working at the food stand that was horribly rude on two different run ins. I ordered a burger... and never got it. When I went up and asked, they said it wasnt ready yet and TWENTY minutes later they still didnt have it on the grill. (I ordered it at 4:05pm and left the park without it at 4:55pm. Ended up speaking to the general manager who was extremely nice and most of the staff were very nice. However the bad things ruined it. ALSO, as a side note. Dog owners who go, with poorly socialized/aggressive dogs (even the 5 pound ones) should probably stay home. Also, please dont go just to sit with your dog on a leash while you drink and eat.

I take my baby girl here all the time . The food is good i really like the downtown vibe and dog park. Also its close to home and if you are in before 4ish its free . It could do with out the rocks afraid dogs that run could cut there paws . Weekends it gets hectic and crowded . Though i will mention durning a weekday a lady in her 40s or 50s with black hair sun glasses and a small black purse dog was walking her dog around the park.which i assume she lives near by. Because she did not come in the park speak obscene works and hold pepper spray at the fence on the outside warning to mutts. Because if she sprays and dog behind a well place fence weither i own the dog or not. I will make sure she gets criminal charges of animal cruelty at the least.next time i see her i wll take pictures to post for other pet owners. Sh

The food and drinks are good but the service is lacking. The hostess didnt introduce us to the place or tell us anything about it. The counter service was awful. I asked the girl what she would suggest and she said, "I try not to eat here but...." She didnt seem like she wanted to be there and was Ill-dressed with yoga pants and hair down. I ordered food and one of the frozen beverages, $17. I stood at the counter for a couple minutes and had to ask if i could have my drink. She was busy talking to a co-worker. The waitress wasnt any better, she kept forgetting stuff and had to make multiple trips back and forth from the table. The only saving grace was the guy behind the counter who explained to me what food items he really liked and what to expect. Good concept but needs good staff to sustain it.

Mutts is easily the best place to bring your dog in DFW. The park is just big enough to constantly have an eye on your dog so you can relax, grab a drink or just hang in the sun for a bit while they play, but certainly not small or limiting! Ive got two super-energetic dogs and Mutts has actually become a part of daily life. They love it, and its the best way to tire them out and socialize with other dogs living in the city. The bar has awesome drinks, one of the best burgers in dallas, and tubs of water for the pups. I have to imagine its difficult to run a bar/restaurant/dog park in uptown but, they do a great job, the employees really do love dogs and Ive never had an issue. Ill recommend it to anyone and everyone!
