Only getting one star from me cause I cant leave zero stars. Went there and were promptly greeted by the hostess and manager at the host stand. The manager stated that for our two adults and 4 children table we would "have to wait like 5-7 minutes to be greeted but if we were ok with that then theyd be happy to seat us". We obliged and waited nearly ten minutes before even being acknowledged. The manager finally came over and asked us for a drink order and we waited another 10 minutes for those to arrive. This whole time every single table around us had been getting.normal and proper attention by their server. After being there for nearly 30 minutes we finally got to place an order and was told that if we didnt order "fried food" It would be another 15-20 minutes. So we ordered a few menu items, one of them were on the special menu "22.99 for fried catfish" ($23 catfish WTH?) and about five minutes later (we had now been here between 35-45 minutes) were told that they "were out of catfish!?" OK SO, then why did you recommend fried food? And why didnt you wipe the item off the chalkboard when you ran out of it? This place is poorly managed. We never got bread to our table. We ordered "dry ceviche" that came out in a wine glass full of juice. It was chewy and obviously not fresh, plus not "dry" as the manager had described. We still had to pay for our two draft beers, according to "TABC rules" though we hadnt barely drank any of them. This place is understaffed, go here if you enjoy being ignored, the red headed female manager was nice but needed to wash/brush her hair badly, and its just very poorly ran. They werent even busy in the front when we arrived. All the other servers made sure to ignore us. This place sucks. Dont waste your time. We left and went next door to the restaurant and bar and had a table and food in under 8 minutes. Water street is a joke. Save your time and money - go next door to the place with the fountain out front. The grilled fish tacos are the bomb and its about 1/4 of the price of water street - plus you dont get ignored! Win

I will never eat there again. They showed favoritism to their special people that come in there regularly. Fist mistake was they told me this. Second mistake was that I knew the people that were going to receive that favoritism. We have eaten next to them many times in that same area. We also had a reservation and were told we did not get a choice but apparently one family does. It also took a long time to get our food. Their food was not very good according to my family... I refused to eat. The cost is way too high for what they served us. Might as well have gone to Boat and Net or Whataburger. By the way, my family has been eating there for many years and again, we will never eat there again. You know... These favorite people/regulars as you call them get to come eat with their family every Sunday after church. I know them personally. My family comes once or twice a year. My mother is 84 and losing her memory. We do not know how much longer we will have with her. When my family manages to get together to take her out to eat, we hope it is pleasant for her. We were crammed into a table next to the stairs and it is so dark in there that she could not see. You have always accommodated us by sitting us on the porch area with the windows and right next to the people you prefer instead of us. I am not going to mention the name of the family that gets special treatment. But, we are special too. How dare you! Is there a rating less than 1 star. You are not a family restaurant. You are not family oriented! You only care about your profits. I hope everyone starts to see how you really are and stops going there. Only the rich get treated with respect. I am not rich with money but I am rich with family. Boycott this restaurant! Stop going to this restaurant! I am not rich but I am a person too! My family are people too! Oh, the waitress threw the menus on the table ... one on each place setting. How rude!

I was in Corpus Christi on vacation this past weekend with my girlfriend and we stayed right across the street in the Best Western. We were excited to get some seafood and thought the Oyster Bar looked like a fun spot for Friday night. However, we were dearly mistaken. First, the hostess mumbled something about sushi bar or table top and I had to ask her to repeat it as she looked miserable and annoyed. Ive encountered many disgruntled hostesses so that alone wouldnt have made a big impression on me. We sat there for several minutes without anybody coming to the table to ask for a drink order, say "sorry were really busy, Ill be right with you," etc. so we decided to leave. As we stood up, the waiter came over and said we had barely been there so we should just stay. I said no thanks and we started to walk out. He followed us to the door and then he said to the hostess while pointing at me, "How long has he been here? Like 3 minutes? He can get out" with a dismissive wave of his hand. Then I told him not to yell at me just because Im leaving and the hostess said in her previously pleasant manner, "Yeah...you can just leave." And I did just that. I have never felt antagonized by a restaurant employee in my life and have also never felt the need to write a negative review before. But I just wanted to let you know this is happening in your restaurant and I have made it a point to tell everybody I know about my experience here. We ended up finding numerous other seafood restaurants in the area with friendly staff that I would gladly recommend. I will never set foot in this place again and am not interested in any concessions you may offer me but if my employees acted like yours did, I would want somebody to let me know.

Its not my first time to eat here, but definitely not impressed with our experience. To start off the evening the valet attendant ( for complementary valet) told us we couldnt park in the spot we did due to the fact it was reserved for valet. However the spot was clearly marked for customer parking. Upon entering the restaurant I brought up my concern about our parking experience and the manager, who quickly fixed it and apologized for the attendants inappropriate remark. The three of us were sat at a table upstairs. We ordered an appetizer and waters and sake, the timing in which we received items was rather poor, our waitress (Samantha) told us several times in a row she would be bringing something right back to the table, but not have it when she returned. We each ordered blue Ribeyes, one of 3 of the cuts of meat delivered to our table was actually a good ribeye the other 2 were not, and they lacked flavor. We notified our waitress and received 2 more cuts in place of the 2 bad ones. When they brought them they tasted better more due to the garlic and butter they were cooked in rather than them being good Ribeyes. All being said and done I was overcharged. The details of what made this an overall bad experience continue from here however the manager did well to fix what he could of the experience, it will probably be awhile before I return and would definitely refuse service from the same server. But if you like oysters Rockefeller this is the place to go.
