The Anchor is one of Wichita's most enjoyable restaurants. We dine there 2-4 times a month. The ambience is inviting & relaxing. Their eclectic menu has items not available elsewhere in town. The proportions are generous. As for the waitstaff - they deserves special recognition. Don't expect the usual phony & perky "Hi, my name is ... and my manager expects me to act like waiting on you will be the highlight of my week!". What you can expect is friendly, unobtrusive service that enhances your meal. The Anchor's guests are also notable. You'll see both adults & children smiling, reading, talking, drawing & laughing. What you won't see is pretence, adults yelling at out-of-control children or other too common behaviours. The Anchor's kitchen and.dining staffs know their crafts and offer their best. This, in turn, seems to bring out the best in the majority of their their guests. Thus, in addition to being a great restaurant, the Anchor is an oasis in our City on the River. Enjoy!!!

Awesome waitress and amazing food. I do not like bar food or bar atmosphere but this place has absolutely the best food and the waitress today was the best anywhere. She was attentive, but not too attentive. She was observant, but you didnt feel like you were being watched or stalked. There is no better food in Wichita. The combination of flavors is outstanding. I have tried 100s of places to find Sweet Potato Fries that are as good as the ones at Dean and DeLuca (which we dont have in Wichita). These are just as good. The Thai Peanut Chicken Sandwich was the perfect combination of flavors. Who gets excited about sandwiches? When they are as good as the ones at the Anchor, I do. The Broccoli Slaw cannot be beat. I would have it with every sandwich. You should not miss this place if you are on the hunt for great food in Wichita.

I really enjoy this place! I love the atmosphere, food, and beer selection. My only complaint is the wait sometimes and service (which can often be a big turnoff), however, the great food/atmosphere seems to trump the service. There are many times where I am seated and the place isn’t very busy at all, but have to wait 10 min for anyone to assist me. I’ve tried the philly cheese steaks which are the very best in town! I also love their burgers and sweet potato fries. They have salads, burgers, fancy bratwurst, and awesome sides. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food and quality. This place might possibly have the largest selection of beer of anywhere in town! You should check this place out when you’re not in a rush and in the mood for amazing food!

The many times I have been here I always had a positive experience all around. Service was timely and professional, workers were polite and kind, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, place was well kept and clean. Though the menu options arent that plentiful it makes up for it with its delicious flavor and variety of alcoholic beverages. The food as mentioned very delicious and presentable. Comes out fresh and hot. And the price is very manageable. This place is great for couples and crowds, family and kids if you arent looking for a drink. Overall positive experience all around.

While I love the food, The Anchor is hit or miss on service. One time the service will be really great. The next couple times it will be substandard. The last visit my friend and I were treated rudely by the host when we asked for a larger table. We were going to work and needed more space than the small two top he offered. He denied the request and said we only save those for bigger parties. Ive been going to The Anchor for years and this has never been the case. One could possibly argue this for a weekend night; this was a Tuesday.

Really really enjoy the food at The Anchor, especially the mac-n-cheese with buffalo chicken...It is spectacular. They have a wonderful appetizer menu as well, the jalapeno caps are delicious. The wait staff is really friendly and the bar is fully stocked. The bartenders make excellent concoctions and are always friendly. My only complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the parking, its downtown so there isnt a lot of room. Theres nothing really to be done about it but it is a pain sometimes.

Had not been to the Anchor before, so we took a late lunch and had an excellent meal. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. She connected with our daughter, so our daughter and my wife drew a pic of a fish and gave it to the waitress. The waitress confessed she was new and had some difficult tables earlier. We were very happy with her service. We will be back not just because the food was great, but the service too! I wish we had thought to take a pic of my daughter and the waitress.

One of the best casual restaurant in the city. Located on the edge of Wichitas design district and Old Town, it is in a perfect, centrally located spot convenient for ICTs downtown residents and workers. The Anchor has a hipster vibe with craft brews and absolutely unbelievable, pub fare. Great for lunch, super great for after work drinks, super super great for fun weekend evenings. It is no wonder why I return time after time. My sincere thanks to the Anchor and the nice job they do.

The service was so terrible, even after letting the server know we were easy going and not in a rush. I had to send back the gross truffle fries (that came to the table cold), we split a ceasar salad and they brought us ranch, again we waited finally the dressing came and had such a strong fish taste (nothing like a ceasar dressing) that I felt sick from all the fish taste. I will not be back until they go back to their old bar feeling, instead of this wanna be fine dinning attempt .

3.5 for me. Hamburger is always great tasting. Rueben was good. Not the best. Beer is priced about the same as other places. Fries taste is good. The size of the fries are bad though. So small. The last 2-3 times Ive noticed they are small and not dippable into ketchup. I thought we just kept getting the end of the bag but looking around at others plates the last two times it appears everyone is getting these shrimpy, small fries. Unfortunate.

Really enjoyed this place. Great atmosphere, service and did. I had the salmon BLT which was great. Especially loved the lemon aioli mayonnaise! Drinks were good and affordable. Only thing I didnt like was with the full bar service they provide, they dont have a very good cocktail menu. It has only 5-6 items on it. Would have loved to see more choices. Ended up just ordering an appletini, which tasted good.

This place is a cute little place, the lighting is not balanced at all. The windows need to be tinted or have shades, the light was so bright from one end of the room and totally dark on the other side. I could only see my friends silhouette while we were there. The servers were sweet. But the Philly cheese steak was quite dry. I had heard great things about this place, but maybe I went on an off day.
