So we have starting hitting this diamond in the rough the first Wednesday of the month with my daughters Cheer team parents. It started out as just drinks and chips & Caso but has lead to dinners as the food is just that good. I get the my usual Dosarita and my wife gets the Frozen Margarita, nothing really special there. For dinner this night I picked their special of the day, Puffy Tacos (Beef). 3 Nice and fluffy tacos filled with beef, lettuce and tomatoes with guacamole and sour cream on the side. Rice and ReFried Beans... Definitely enough food as I usually cant eat it all. The wife had the Fajita Steak & Cheese quesadilla... WOW... i had a bite and LOVED it.. She wouldnt let me have anymore or trade me because it was THAT GOOD... HIGHLY Recommended. Service was great! We had a party of about 12, all with separate checks and our waitress phenomenal!!! Nice atmosphere as well. If youre looking for some good TexMex and youre in the Schertz / Cibolo area... La Cabana is your place!!!

Been wanting to try this place and finally did today. It was around 12 noon on a Sunday... good crowd but we were party of five and got to sit right away. Good friendly service we got. Pablo was our server, but it seems like others tended tonis as well, which is okay. We didnt let kids on playground due to the heat but will try next time, outside seating did look nice, place including restrooms were pretty clean, great atmosphere. Mix of country and Latin decor. Mariachi band was playing, which was cool. I got the 3 crispy taco plate, wife got Mole with enchilada and kids shared chicken quesadilla. All food was delicious, and tortillas and lemonade and sweet tea all were homemade. They have a good American food selection available as well, but havent tried yet. Not sure about other bad reviews, maybe its a hit or miss, but definitely will be coming to this family owned and operated restaurant.

My daughter & I decided to have lunch at La Cabana since it had been a while since we ate here. From the moment we walked in we should have known that we should have walked right on out but the hostess told us we could sit at the bar since there was no wait. So we sat at the bar the waitress only brought us the water that we ordered, which we asked for with lemon but it also came with some extra caked-on dry soap. That was our first sign to walk out, the second sign was no menus were given to us we had to request some & wait 20 minutes just to request to go sit somewhere else. After we ordered & our food came, omg it flashed before me THIS IS THE WORST MEXICAN FOOD WE HAVE EVER HAD since moving to this area THAT IS WHY WE NEVER WENT BACK, SO NO MORE LA CABANA FOR US. THEY ALSO HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE ME 50 CENTS FOR A TO GO CUP SINCE I DID NOT WANT THEIR CUP WITH THE CAKED ON SOAP

The first visit, the service was average, but we were impressed with the food. The second visit, the service got REALLY BAD!! The people must hate working there. The hostess was not smiling, the waitstaff was not smiling, and even those who were in charge were not smiling. Last straw...ordered fajitas for two and requested flour tortillas, but got corn tortillas. Requested the flour tortillas to the waiter, but was told that their boss does not like people ordering corn tortillas and asking for flour tortillas, so we need to charge you!! Got the bill...got charged $0.29 for each tortillas (had 4, so paid $1.16)! Can someone explain to me why I need to pay for a mistake in an order that was NOT made by me? Who wants to dish out $40 or more for dinner for terrible dining experience. Its almost like telling someone, "Cmon, I will pay you $40 to make me feel bad..." NO WAY!!

Only eat here if you like raw meat mixed into your cooked meat. They tried offering us a $20 Gift Card instead of a refund, which is so transparent. "Here, have a gift card thatll pay for $5 of my supplies so I dont have to refund your $20 that included a nice tip for a to-go order." Instead of saying "Sorry about that!", how about "Well get on it, and make sure no other customers have to consume raw chicken and possibly get sick"?. Also ordering over the phone was extremely difficult, I have an easier time ordering places with heavy language barriers. I rarely write reviews...but this place was so lame, I had to write one to help steer a few people away from being ripped off.

This is the second time we go and it was not a very good experience.. We sat there for like 10 min before anyone even aknowledge we were there .. came to find out the waiter we had was the guy that pass by our table 3 times without even saying anything at all .. .. it was just not what I expected .. . Apparently they also charge you extra for the things that should already come in your food like my babacoa taco that usually comes with cilantro and onions or at least thats how Ive always gotten it absolutely every where I been .well they charged me Xtra when I asked for it .. not sure if I want to go back ... thats just me .my own personal experience...

I took my son to this location. We ordered our lunch and patiently waited for our food. When my son got his burger and fries the waitress told us the plate was hot so he waited, but while he was waiting a roach crawled out of his fries...we jump out of our table and told the manager. He asked if we wanted to move to another table, *hell no*. I grabbed my stuff and left out of that roach infested place. I told my baseball moms and they told me about this experience with this restaurant and having roaches in their tacos and beverages. Gross #healthinspector #heathdepartment #filthy #BBB

Unfortunately I cannot go lower than 1 star. First and last time eating here! One of my co-workers found a BUG in her food and notified the waiter. He was not overly concerned about this but did speak with the manager and the response he brought back was "oh yeah sometimes there are bugs in the food". Thats disturbing on 2 levels. The response and also the lack of concern. The manager did not even bother to come out to the table. My co-worker was not charged for the meal, however, that is a completely inappropriate response for any reputable eating establishment.

This place is so overly dramatic. Got kicked out cause Ive apparently posted a bad review about the place which I have never done until now. I used to work there and they do nothing but belittle there employees work them to the bone and degrade them. Yes they do have a roach problem also which I have never posted publicly until now. Most of there food gets reused when a plate gets sent back. Cant believe I was going there to eat. But never again will I give this place a chance. Cuddos to the people who "enjoy" eating at that place

Underwhelming. Food was less than meh. Great looking environment. People obviously go for the live music, but what a waste food wise. Seriously, everything we have had here was disappointing & weve been 3 times. We have 3 young kids that often need a playground, so the only reason we go is if we need a break. Havent tried El Jalisco in front of it yet, but definitely going there next time.
