I am vegetarian that eats eggs if few options. Came to old west cafe and found a meal that had chorizo scrambled in the dish. Asked for no meat. 45 min later I get my food...with meat. I politely tell the waitress I dont eat meat and requested it without meat and she says oh yea...takes it and comes back 5 min later. They literally just pulled the top half of the food off and threw some more eggs back on there. Not only did I lose the layer of potatoes that come with the dish , But I still ended up with chunks of chorizo on the bottom which really upset me because I absolutely do not eat meat for ethical reasons . Clearly these people saving a few dollars on food and time is more important than their customers request and needs. Especially when it was the cooks mistake. Extremely disappointed and will not return again. I hope they educate themselves on the growing trend of vegetarian and veganism and know that it is not OK to scrape off some meat and leave chunks of meat on the bottom. Disgusting and inconsiderate

Being able to cook almost every southern staple can have an effect on a persons point of view as well as standards. That being said, I really like this place. The Trainrobber burrito was excellent and the biscuits were fluffy and buttery without being heavy. The Wild West omelet was gigantic and only got better with every bite. While the Sombrero omelet was deliciously awesome. The staff was attentive and genuinely cared. There were only two complaints. The first had to do with the wood chairs. They werent the most comfortable and were often very loud as people pulled them from under the tables. The second was the gravy, although tasty, was a bit more runny than I like. A little more reduction would have made it perfect. If I could give a suggestion, it would be to cook the gravy down a bit more and to put tennis balls on the feet of the chairs. Then itll get five stars from me.

Its just ok. Staff is attentive but there seems to be too few of them. The atmosphere is Tx cowboy style that permeates the area like a plague. The food is ok, usually underseasoned. My biggest problem is their egg cookery, they always under or over cook eggs. Any egg ordered to a specific doneness will be really undercooked. For example an egg ordered over easy should have a runny yolk with firm fully cooked whites and no brown color on the egg in its entirety, you wont get that here, what you will get is an egg with runny whites and yolk and burnt crispy edges, every single time. Im done giving this place chances, go to IHOP, at least theres some form of consistency... It pains me to say that.

Our friends introduced us to this place. Really fun atmosphere, but it is open and normally very loud...be ready for it. The service is always great...you feel like family here, and the food is unbelievable! Plan to share or overstuff yourself...they will serve you more than one person should eat, but you wont be able to stop yourself. It is just that good. I normally get The Wrangler...you get a little taste of everything! Order anything on the menu...you will really enjoy the food experience. I have to say that as far the coffee...its not that great but what are you gonna do. Overall you will love this place and you will thank me later.

I love this place. I am upset that we havent visited here sooner. The first time we went there was about a 20-25 minute wait and let me tell you it was worth it. The lemon blueberry pancakes are the best thing I have ever eaten. The staff is friendly. The only thing that could go better, but it doesnt bother me is the food runners checking the food before it comes out. Every time we go I saw no powdered sugar, and every time I get my food theres powdered sugar on it. Also the pancakes are not your normal sized...I ordered the meal with 2 the first time and I had enough for dinner the next night. We will be returning.

Food made the whole party sick - we ordered brunch which was mainly pastry and eggs. Service was terrible - arrived as a party of 8, ordered brunch. 3 plates came out first, then our drinks, then 40 mins later the rest of our orders, one order was never provided before handing us our checks. Cleanliness - dark and dingy to prevent people from seeing how poorly the place is run! Hostess - she comps the half order (other half never arrived and no one told us what happened to it) that cost $3 (three dollars). Overall - dont recommend this place. I will be reporting the business to the health dept.

This is my first time to the Old West Cafe. The atmosphere is country, just like I like it. My server, Alasha, was very nice and knowledgeable, which made my dine-in that much more pleasant. The food was very good and well proportionate. I had the Pioneer, which had french toast, two eggs and a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham. I added a side of Hashbrowns, which they gave me a portion for two, but it made me laugh, because it looked like a loaf of bread. The coffee was just right, which is sometimes hard to do in a busy restaurant. They have won me over and I will for sure be back again.

Stopped here after reading the reviews and our hotel didnt offer any free breakfast (The Holiday Inn). Glad we did. Must warn you there is quite a wait but well worth it. Once greeted and name on list you give your number and you receive a text letting you know your spot in line and when your table is ready. Me and the wife shared the Laredo breakfast - western omelette with salsa (yummy) with hash browns, biscuit and gravy. We also order the cinnamon crisp French toast with strawberries and whipped cream. All of it was delicious. Would highly recommend breakfast here.

1. Surprisingly great food. Tastes almost home cooked. - French toast is excellent (and I make my own at home) - mashed potatoes taste homemade - eggs were good 2. Service was excellent once we were seated. Waiting to be seated was awful. First my party was told about 20 minutes. When we checked in again they told us another 20 minutes. The last 20 minutes took about 30. So seating predictions and service was awful and there is no place to sit on the hot days. I had an infant at the time and that made it much harder since he was getting too hot outside.

This is one of the best places to get breakfast in the area. It is absolutely fantastic. Every time I go here the service is consistent and the food is amazing. The meals are a great price and huge, youll definitely need a box to go home with. The only major negative about Oldwest is the wait. Usually when we arrive we wait about 1 hour to be seated. They use a text message program which definitely helps, but still is a long wait. Look forward to going again though, as always.

This place is my new favorite eatery. Been coming here now for about a year and the food is excellent! It is consistent and always hot and delicious. The eggs are always cooked to perfection as is everything else. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is whimsical and fun. I enjoy reading the signs on the walls as Im eating. I only wish they were open later. This place kicks Buttermilk Cafes butt!!
