Food is great; service is lousy. Drinks were incorrect; straws were wet with DrPepper; when I asked for napkins to clean up the sticky DrPepper, I was handed a wet towel, which was fine............the remark was uncalled for as the sticky came from the wet straws I received from the Hostess. She said "yall just cant take her anywhere" Asked for hot syrup with pancakes and were told they didnt have pecan syrup; just maple............my sister said she didnt want pecan syrup, just wanted the maple syrup heated. Had to ask for the syrup as it never arrived.........when it did, it was not heated................didnt say anything, was just glad to have syrup, at this point. Had to ask for coffee refill. Waitress brought a pot of coffee and set it on waitress table warmer and walked back up front. Finally got a refill when we ordered dessert. We also asked for two more cups of coffee as we had 4 people and the other two wanted coffee with their dessert.........never got those. Asked for to-go boxes and one came with a melted hole in it and the closure tab broken. When the waitress came back to put dishes in bust tub, we asked her for a replacement because it was broke...........she said "are you breaking things?" We replied, "no, it came this way"...........never got that or any coffee refills. We finally just decided to leave and got another waitress to get us a box on the way out. I did report my frustration to Hostess as I was paying out. Bill was $56 and I gave her $60 and told her to give the $4 to the waitress. I told her I tip on the service I receive and didnt feel like leaving that much and informed I usually tip 15 to 20% on good service and more if I receive excellent service. I dont normally do this, but I took this very personally. I will think long before going back, even if I do love their food.

I know this is kind of long, but please read and share so they make necessary changes: College student back for holidays hand dad recommends this place. I understand that its a cafe and its supposed to be laid back, but this is pushing it. They sat us in a filthy area where the floor was sticky and wet. Looked like several people had spoiled stuff there and no one cared to at least mop. The table I we were given was only given a quick wipe just before we were seated and it still had stuff on it. Some of the tables around us got less treatment. For the price, the food was bad. Almost as much as one would pay at an Ihop, but much less tasty. I preferred the cheese steak from my campus to this. The service was a little slow, but the waitress was nice enough. However, just before leaving, we noticed a waitress taking a bite out of a sandwich in plain view of everyone. Needless to say she was probably about to go serve a table. Not satisfied, but not completely bad. Share the warning and read other reviews. Im not high class and dont have very high standards, but I was not very happy.

Food here is absolutely amazing! And talk about VALUE!!. Ive been in the industry ever since I was old enough to work. Im very picky and pay attention to a lot of detail. I have very high standards when it comes to service as a lot of people tend to look at the wrong things in service. But even with that being said, there was not a single thing that Ashley my waitress missed during my visit here at buttermilk. Not only was her enlightening smile uplifting and comforting, her service was superp. She should be the the standard when it comes to servers in all restaurants. Shes clean, attentive, and more efficient than any server I have had in years!! The food was absolutely delicious. Triple decker is simple to make but difficult to match their delicious build. Man. Im so excited to have found such an establishment that offers amazing food, outstanding service with smile at unbelievable value!! Will be coming back real soon Buttermilk! Keep Ashley and give her a raise!!

Let me explain. WE dined here approximately 10 times and loved it at first. Their food isnt bad per se and the prices are high. However, the service is hit or miss. The food comes occasionally cold or under cooked depending. There is a wise cracking, and not in a good way, waitress who will passively aggressively ignore you with her coffee pot refills. After 3 or 4 bad episodes and receiving frozen hashbrowns, we decided to get to go only. Until this morning, I called at 7:37 and the wise cracking waitress asked if I would hold. Its now 8:03 and my cell phone is still holding. Im not going to order but I will make sure the manager is aware that this place is poorly staffed. Some cooks are fantastic while there are others who simply dont know eggs yet work mornings and the waitresses are all in and out. Only the passive aggressive waitress remains. Again, we loved this place. It was our Sunday breakfast place. As of today they lost our takeout business. What a shame.

Food was just okay but I had to send mine back because there was a hair in it. GROSS. I let the server know and she quickly gave us our bill as if she was rushing us out because she was embarrassed or just didnt want to deal with it. Understandable not her fault. After my sister finished eating we reviewed the bill and they had still charged me for the plate. When we got to the register the manager came over and said "that actually wasnt a hair it was from the butter brush" in a very rude tone. I explained I didnt eat any of the food and I wasnt gonna pay for it. She took my food off but not willingly and I left. I will not be returning for the simple fact I couldnt get an apology from the manager. Ive been a manager for a restaurant for 10 years and this is just not how we do things when it comes to hospitality. If it was a hair from a person or a hair from a brush its not my fault. I didnt eat the food. Dont make me pay.

The jalapeno pork-chop was just awesome, thick and tender with a wonderful flavor. Girlfriend got just a plain regular cheese burger which wasnt at all plain, thick, juicy and flavorful better then the burgers at twisted root or any fast food joint hands down. Decor was nice, place was clean, and waitress and even the other patrons there were friendly. Seemed to be several "regulars" there, either that or the staff is just that friendly. Price was reasonable. 20$ for two people. Probably could have ate a little cheaper with different selections from the menu but very satisfied. Weve been checking out non-chain diners here lately and this is my favorite so far.

Ive only ever had take out from the Buttermilk café so dining in may be a totally different experience but, I just havent been impressed the few times I have had the takeout. My first visit I ordered the fish, which probably was a mistake as this is not a seafood restaurant. The fish was overcooked and the sides were ok. The side salad was good however. My next visit I ordered the pork chop. Again, slightly overcooked. But, this meal was better than the first. Nothing was gross or terrible about either meal. It just wasnt great takeout. My meals just havent left me wanting to go back to try something else.
