I appreciate a good burger, saw this new place on Charlotte Avenue and decided to check it out. It was my first and last time at Flip Burger. It was a Monday evening before 5pm so there was little activity in the dinning room and bar. In fact, I wasnt sure they were even open for business yet. I was seated at one of the many empty tables and immediately noticed the table top was sticky. Yuk! The server was pleasant enough and asked if it was my first time at Flip Burger and then recommended the fried b&b pickles as a side with my classic burger. I was pleased to learn that the burger could be cooked to order as I like mine medium rare. It was served quickly enough and I am thankful I asked that their burger sauce be served separately as it is just a sweeter version of 1000 island dressing. While the burger looked pre-made, it was properly cooked but it did not have much flavor. The pickled onions and b&b pickles already on the sandwich may have overpowered the beef, so I removed them and still no taste. I had to ask for salt & pepper as I hoped that would help bring out the beef flavor. It did not. As for the side order of fried b&b pickles, I did not like them at all. I ate just 1 and couldnt bring myself to try anymore. When the server cleared the plate she never made mention of the still full serving of fried pickles, which in my opinion, is poor service. She delivered the check and vanished. However, as I was signing the tab, the hostess did ask if I enjoyed everything and I told her I didnt. She asked if the server did anything about it and I told her she did not. At this point, the hostess offered to give me a coupon or something for the next time I come in, but I told her I would not be returning and therefore did not want whatever it was she was offering. Bottom line, nothing great about Flip Burgers at all. They wont last in this town.

This is a great place for something different when you are wanting a burger. I had the Bison burger with the fried egg and it was delicious. Probably better eaten with a fork. The Caesar salad was very good as a side item. Their "hot nashville" special of the day was Ahi sashimi tuna. Each day they take an item and fix it like hot chicken. This was sliced ahi tuna with hot chicken on drizzled on it sitting on a slice of white bread. The oil had some heat but was not really hot, and did not have much flavor, this this did not really go over that great. My wife had the porto burger with is a mix of portobella mushroom and beef blended. I had never had that before but I took a few bites and it was actually very good. The sweet potatoe tater tots were fried and then sprinkled with a cajun seasoning and some cinnamon sugar. Well done on that dish and very flavorful. The prices are a bit high for the kind of food (i.e. $16 for a hambuger ala carte), but it is definitely different. Our waitress was great and very friendly and just for that we would come back. If you havent tried them, give them a shot.

Let me say first- the burgers and fries were quite good. They serve a smoked mayo with the fries that is good on, well, everything! Theres a good beer selection, as well as wines. However... as other reviews have mentioned, the service was awfully slow. Not unfriendly, but still poor. We were seated immediately, but then waited at least 10 minutes before being greeted or getting water/drink order. It was roughly 50 minutes after being seated that we finally received our food... and were just talking burgers and fries, here! The place wasnt very busy, and other patrons were also served slowly, it seemed. There was plenty of wait staff (standing around), so problems in the kitchen, perhaps? Also, the floor seemed greasy/slippery. It didnt look dirty, though, so Im guessing that they may be using a poor cleaning solvent. Again, the food was good, but the experience ruined things. There are plenty of spots in Nashville for good burgers, good beer, and better service.

I dont care how delicious the burgers are, I wont be returning after the rude customer service I experienced yesterday. First of all, no one greeted me when I walked into the restaurant that wasnt busy at all. Finally, after standing around for several minutes, I asked a server who I should give a takeout order to. She directed me to the bartender, who looked me over twice, rolled her eyes, and never once greeted me, asked if I wanted a drink, etc. If I hadnt been ordering a large takeout order for my boss, I would have promptly walked away and never returned. The bartender was extremely rude and disrespectful. I understand the takeout order was large, but it was also an extra $200 for the daily business. I was already stressed out running multiple errands for my boss and I never should feel like Im causing a restaurant trouble by giving them business. My boss is a regular customer, but I told her of the poor service and she will not be returning, either.

I thought third visit would be a charm. First visit was okay came with the group spend a lot of money but had a decent time even though service was very slow period second time service was horrible. People that came in 15 minutes after us got serve their food first, the waitress dropped dirty dishes on my dinner partner that she was removing from another table and didnt really even apologize. She laughed about it. Third time went in to have lunch with a friend. She ordered a hamburger and then she ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer and I only ordered fries. They were only three other parties in the whole restaurant and they were small. It took almost 30 minutes for our order to come out and then the waitress said she never heard my lunch companion order a hamburger. When my friends that I ordered a hamburger where is it, the waiter said you did not. I think some of their menu items are decent and their drink drinks all although overpriced

The drinks and service were very good. Both of the specialty mixed drinks that i tried were amazing. If you are looking for a place to go for a couple drinks this is one I would suggest. That being said the food here has really gone down since it opened. When it first opened The burgers were cooked perfectly and the combinations were unique and delicious. The burgers were overcooked and small. The cheese curds were a partially burned mass of breading with a few bites of cheese in them. I also tried the fried pickles and they were about a half inch of batter and a thin, limp pickle slice. Item for item on the menu there are better burgers and fried pickles within 200 yards of this place. Not planning on going back. Would have been 1 star but the drinks earned it the second.

The restaurant is quite nicely made from the inside, the bar from far looks pretty interesting but once seated feels ok. Ordered the southern burger which is beef deep fried like chicken with batter.. looks wise 5 star taste wise truly 3 stars. The meat is just too bland no flavor cooked right but no flavor at all. The beef fries are decent a different taste as they are cooked in the beef fat. What really rocks about this restaurant is the milk shakes, tried nutella as everyone suggested it AMAZING. Hopefully they read the renaming reviews which have all mentioned that the beef is flavorless 8/21 -- got contacted by the manager to give it another shot which i definitely will in a weeks time..
