I had a half slab to go, half wet and half dry. (If you dont feel like reading the whole thing, just go to that joint and get some ribs, youll thank me later) I was a little suspicious of the name, since it sounds cheap. Well these guys may not be good at finding cool names but they sure know how to BBQ! Here is my short tasting note. Ribs 9.8/10 The ribs are beautiful, wonderful smell. The meat comes off the bone super easily, yet does not fall of the bone. The bone side makes a crispy layer almost like rotisserie chicken leg skin. The meat is cooked to perfection and not a lot of solid fat remains. I can see a nice smoke ring about halfway from the surface. Juicy but not fatty. The dry half of the slab has a thick layer of dry rub that seems to have been put before the cooking and a fine sprinkle of dry "dry rub" that seems to have been sprinkled just before serving. The wet half of the slab ils moped only on the meat side with medium layer of thick sauce. For both halfs, the intensity of the flavours is about 5:10, right there in the middle, just enough so that the taste of the meat is balanced with the other flavours: salt, sugar, vinegar, bitter, smoke aromas. This is a masterpiece! Sauce 8.0/10 ( served on the side, as I asked) Vinegary and sweet. Seams different that the one that was mopped on the ribs. Slaw 9.9/10 Waw!!! Corse chopped, crisp, creamy, mellow, sweet. Seems tombe pieces of sweet pickles in their. Beens 7.5/10 They are good! The guy who served me was the actual owner, named Eric. A very humble man I think. I asked him about his cooking process. His ribs are hot smoked (smoked as they are cooked all in one process) in a charcoal pit with hickory wood for the smoke. During my short stay in Memphis I was only able to try 7 of the best rated ribs joints, but this one was by far my favorite. I urge any human being passing by Memphis to stop by !

The restaurant sits in a great neighborhood with parellel parking in the front and extra parking in the back of the property. The atmosphere very inviting with a host standing right in front of the entrance like a knight waiting for orders. The inside is decorated with nostalgia items from many genres including elvis, the blues, etc. however, it is not overloaded like some I see. The mood is exciting but you know youre there to get your hands dirty eating BBQ. Eric, the manager, who was working with a foot injury, was very please to see us as we walked through the door. Lori was an amazing server filling our empty glasses every chance she got and the food, oh my goodness, it was out of this world. The flavor from the sauce exploded in my mouth like a fourth of July firework. It is not sour tasting with vinegar but is very subtle with a powerful aftertaste that makes your mouth smile from ear to ear. My wife and I ordered the BBQ sampler which gave you four options that they are famous for. We had the rib dry and wet wich is dry rub and sauced. The meat fell off the bone and was delicious from the inside to the outside with the dry rub tasting like a shower of flavors that was infused with the flavor of the meat. It is truly a great place to eat and no their service is not bad, they are humans give them a break. Lori was amazing and on point.

This is Memphis BBQ at its best, and it is on the short list of greatest casual barbecue restaurants in the world. I have been here more than 50 times in the past 12 years. Id be embarrassed about that statistic if this place wasnt so legendary. We always do the sausage and cheese plate followed up with a pulled pork plate or dry rub only ribs. Their have a limited selection of draft beer (although many bottles), and we never order dessert. Their BBQ nachos with pork are outstanding, and I think the glazed ribs are a very nice change of pace if youve already been to the Shop twice that week. Their BBQ spaghetti has a really good reputation, but I dont get it myself. If youre not getting ribs, you want to do the pulled pork plate or sandwich. Leave the slaw on your Texas toast sandwich, this is Memphis and you need to do it our way at least once. For sides, the buttered Texas toast and baked beans are deeply satisfying. What Eric and crew do best is their BBQ sauce, which is the perfect example of Memphis-style, with ketchup, vinegar, a little mustard, an understated dark sweetness, and rich smoke. Beware: their hot BBQ sauce is incredible... and also very spicy.

First time visiting the B.B.Q shop. The food was very good, decor was as expected for an old building. I had the beef and pork plate, i was expecting small portions since it was both meats, however it was a full serving if both meats. I was disappointed in the fact that they wanted to charge an additional $1.50 for frys instead of baked beans, but the food was very good. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, there was a commotion at the bar. A patron was making a scene, and was asked to leave. The staff was very apologetic for the mans behavior. The gentleman refused to leave the restaurant so the staff had to call the authorities to get the man to leave. Even after being told that the police were in their way, the man stayed put. It was until he saw the flashing lights that he left. The staff apologized many times until the man was gone. I highly recommend this place for someone looking to stay away from the bustle of downtown. It was a very quiet area compared to others around.

After some time of eating Texas barbecue, I have to admit the food at this restaurant was superb and unforgettable. The ribs, pulled pork, baked beans and even the potato salad were making my taste buds dance and wanting more. As the quote from "fried green tomatoes" states the secret is in the sauce that was sure the desert of the whole meal. I especially enjoyed the service by the servers and Ms. Tahlia B. was top notch in providing detailed description for every question. Her patience and care was extremely kind and always expressed professionalism. If you receive her as a server, your experience will be remarkable. All the staff was exceptional and the manager was extremely kind in coming around to making sure everything was up to its best. I recommend this restaurant and when you experience it you will be floored.

The food was delicious! Ive never had a better bbq pulled pork sandwich in my life! The baked beans were an awesome side dish to a great meal! The sweet tea wasnt great, kind of tasted like they dont clean out the tea urns well enough. I am only giving a 4 star rating because the waiter, though extremely nice, was slow. We waited about 10 minutes after we sat to be waited on. Our drink orders took another 7 minutes to get to us. After we ordered our food and it was delivered, it took 12 minutes for him to come back to the table to ask if our food was cooked to order/if we would like drink refills. The check took another 15 minutes to get to us. It was a slightly busy night, so I wasnt terribly upset with the lack of fast service, but I feel he could have managed his time better (this is coming from a prior server).
