Havent tried the food (looked and smelt great), went there for the coffee. Im a craft coffee, black only kind of guy. Walked in, the place is tight. Love the vibes. But they need to pay as much attention to training their staff as they do to the decor. I was been warned that coffee here is hit or miss depending on who is brewing it for you. I think I unfortunately hit the miss today. I ordered a pour over coffee (which Im pretty sure she used a v60 cone with a Chemex filter. And when I asked her about the way I thought I saw her brew the coffee and she had no clue what I was talking about.) Then when I tried the espresso it was very bitter (something definitely went wrong here) and the pour over was just fine (didnt have any of the great notes which Ive had when drinking metropoliss coffee up in Chicago).

If you miss the city vibe, come here. A Very San Franciscan ambience - like an upscale international youth hostel. Food is good value for money. No fuss, clean, hearty basic meal. Beverages get pricey IMO. The biscuits are fresh goodness! The Waffles and brioche toast are good too. We started with an order of waffles and biscuit. Ended up doubling our order, with a second order of biscuit (yeah, they were that good) and the brioche toast with Nutella. Came back for dinner on Wednesday - Trivia night, as we came to learn. Packed with who seemed like regulars, native Memphis regulars. Had the maxwell sandwich (scrumptious and unique) and an iced delta eagle (canNOT believe it was so good).

Stopped for lunch and coffee mid week. Had the maxwell sandwich which was excellent, with a cup of tomato basil. Unfortunately they had a heavy hand with the red pepper and that is all I could taste in the soup. Also had a pour over coffee, which was served at the right temperature and I could really taste the flavor profile of the coffee well. Seems to be mostly late 20s to 30s crowd, not too busy. Mostly working professionals with a couple of college types. Service was a little slow, and food a little pricey, but good food, coffee, and atmosphere. Would recommend.

Typically pricey for a trendy coffee house, but the selection of real and delicious food keeps me coming back. The coffee itself is amazing and the varieties are all quite interesting. One of the few places I know that you can even get a simple redeye coffee and its very clean, instead of tasting like battery acid. The seating is varied to your level of style and relaxation, the service is fast and friendly, and theres no qualms if you just want to sit and hang out for the afternoon. They even have a cabinet with an NES and SNES if you like.

This is a coffee house, but you have to try their Macaroni and Cheese. One of the best you will ever have. We tried their soups.. and they were watery and tasteless, but the Macaroni and Cheese made up for it. The cappuccinos were good, not great, with neat presentation in their signature mugs. The decor could use some polish, curtains are a bit ragged and fabric seats are very ragged (and smell). Lots and lots of students there taking up the tables. Background music is weird mix, with some songs making you cringe.

This is my second trip here. I usually go to the Front Street Delicatessen for coffee and a breakfast sandwich but since they have been closed for remodeling Ive been coming here. The food portions are a little small but the coffee is excellent and usually want need a second cup. On my second trip here the cook greeted me and remembered me and asked what I was having. He took my order as I was paying and brought it to me. The Wi-Fi signal is nice and strong and no password is needed. Ill be back again.

Great chai tea latte. Awesome staff. Solid Memphis craft beer selection on draft. Kill the kegs day - omg. Retro console gaming on big TV from comfy couch. interesting sandwiches that taste great. Only bummer for me is that portion sizes on good stuffs are kind of less than I expect for the price. But maybe Im cheap and just like to stuff my face. all said, this is a unique joint for Memphis and Im so glad I can walk there from work in less than 5 minutes. Love the place when I actually remember to go.

Im an "out of town" espresso nut. Im occasionally in Memphis and avoid the "coffee scene" like its the plague. But I had high hopes when I saw metropolis was the beans supplier for TnT. I wasnt disappointed. They had a delicious SOE yirgacheffe on tap that was a screaming fruit bomb. Finallly, I had the elizalde brunch that had a wonderful dowsing of queso. Followed by a parting shot of espresso. cant wait to try some of their other offerings (read tap)

Great food! Ive tried all sandwiches except 2. They have all been soooooo delicious, only downside is that I ate it so fast lol (guess thats not a downside :) If youre a Hummus fan, then search no longer for a tasty Hummus! The Cannonball Express is the best coffee drink, hands down, that Ive ever had! Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Brunch Sundays, they usually have a small group playing music which is delightful :)

The atmosphere is great, as is the coffee and teas. Decent local beer selection. If you want a casual meet up spot that isnt a bar but is still casual then this is the place. The food is so-so, in my opinion. The hummus really saves it for me, it comes with a generous amount of fancy crackers and cucumbers, if you need more they are happy to give you some extra. Wi-fi is spotty, but its free.

The best place to grab great coffee and delicious fresh food! Cant forget their beer too! I love the live bands on Sundays :) as of 10.01.16 they have changed their hours of service: they are now closing at 7pm instead of 9pm. Service is always exceptional, like family. Food is made wh love and you can tell. Coffees for everyone, from straight black to sugary heaven!

Traveling through and decided to give a local place a shot for lunch-- LOVED this!!! This was the best BLT sandwich Ive ever had. Im from Portland (one of the foodie capitals of the world) and I was impressed, somewhat hard to do. My companions sandwich and coffee was good as well. Definitely short-listed for a repeat visit whenever I get back to Memphis.

Awesome guys behind the counter, large, chill space, and great, local products. They recommended I try the Cannonball Express, which combines chai and espresso, and they made it with soy milk for me. I definitely recommend you try it too! One negative: no sandwiches in the morning, so you cant grab something for lunch when you stop in for breakfast.

While the food menu is limited, they do a great job on the handful of sandwiches and salads offered. The grilled cheese won best grilled cheese in Memphis this year! As for the drink menu, Tamp and Tap has a wide variety of coffees, teas, craft beers, and just started serving wine. Cool atmosphere for studying or a coffee date.

Low Country Eggs Benedict are delicious. Just a hint of spice in the hollandaise. The eggs were overcooked with hard yolks but that is OK. The waffles were very nice but did not come with enough maple syrup so we had to ask for more and it says it comes with candied bacon on the menu but that was missing.
