Waiters and Waitresses are amazing! They are fast to respond to customers needs, courteous, kind, and patient. Very friendly, unlike most similar restaurants Ive been to. The atmosphere is great. Music in the background is very calm, yet, not the fall asleep to calm. Very relaxing, makes for a nice dinner. I would certainly make this a date spot! If you have a spouse, or girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking to impress without breaking your wallet in half, I highly recommend this place. The food is outstanding! Right down to the wanton soup! Very, very good deal there, NOT just the normal "One wanton, hot water, few chives and a beef bullion cube." This tastes like it was made from scratch, and very made very well. And that was just the appetizers! The food I recommend most is the "Empress Chicken". There are so many different flavors so perfectly wrapped into each bite, it tastes like it was -made- for royalty, just like the name suggests! Truly a work of art. The hungarian beef is not as good as the chicken, but I would recommend that as well! All over a wonderful place! Go there, for sure! ~ Kit D. Hallow

So I went to this place with a date while I was going to Rivergate mall, and first of all let me point out that I was really surprised that it opened at 11AM and having gotten there at 11:05 there were already like 3 other parties there.... and more arrived within 10 minutes. What. That being said, I can understand why this is the case - they have lunch prices from 11-2 (i think) every day, including weekends, and their food is freakin delicious. I had the crab rangoons as an appetizer, with the sesame chicken as an entre, with fried rice. Dear god that sesame chicken was SO GOOD. Its like the kind you usually get at malls/airports from to-go chinese places for 5.99, except its WAY more in quantity and WAY better in taste, all for just 50 cents more. Dang its freakin delicious. Same goes for the crab rangoon - 4.50 and so tasty, with the included sweet sauce. And also the intro crunchy things (which Im not going to pretend I know the name of, but theyre like the chinese equivalent of chips at a mexican place). Overall, freakin awesome and if Im ever in the area again I will return... no question about it.

If you enjoy chinese food youre going to absolutely LOVE this place!!!! My fiance and I love chinese food and while we were staying in a hotel in Goodlettsville I did a search for Chinese restaurants and found The China Cottage. It already had great reviews so off we went and boy am I glad we did!!!!! The food is beyond compare! The portions are HUGE!! The staff are so very nice and make eating there even nicer. Lastly, if you like crab ragoon you have got to go here!! At most Chinese restaurants youre lucky to get filing the size of a marble. Here the filling is about the size of, well, at least the size of a golf ball...actually bigger than that!! Theyre HUGE!! Now we live in Ashland City and drive the 32 miles just to go there because no other comes even close in comparison!! Ya gotta give them a try because once you do youll feel the same way we do!!

Visiting China Cottage is just a wonderful experience. The place is clean, it smells nice, the music is lovely, there are fresh flowers on every table, the staff is incredibly gracious, and the food is delicious. What more could you ask for? More locations, that is what. I live south of Murfreesboro now, so I do not get up to Madison very often. I truly miss China Cottage. We used to go almost every week. The staff started recognizing us and giving us panda calendars and other fun stuff when we visited. This restaraunt is really special. I havent even talked about the food, which is excellent. The Crab Rangoon is awesome, the soups are all delicious, and their Moo Shu Chicken is the best. We have never had anything bad (or even mediocre) at China Cottage. Go there and enjoy! It is worth the drive.

It is now our Sunday evening tradition to order take-out from China Cottage. By far, the best place in Nashville for great Chinese food! The staff is always so polite and will argue if you try to tip them too much. Very honest people. And the food - AMAZING! Weve never been let down by any option we have selected from their vast menu. My daughters (ages 2 1/2 and 1) LOVE the Mongolian Beef. And the amount of food provided you could not do justice. We typically order 2 regular meals and it feeds a family of 4 at least two nights in a row and a lunch or two sometimes. This is the kind of place you return to over and over because the level of quality and service cannot be matched anywhere else.

We ate at the China Cottage while visiting in Nashville (we currently live in Illinois), and have lived in both LA and Phoenix and dined at many Chinese restaurants. My husband and I both agree that we have not had a better or more presentable meal anywhere. The food was delicious and the presentation was so pretty I took a picture of the dish (it was a seafood dish with shrimp, scallops etc). We highly recommend the Wonton soup also! There was more than enough food and the cost was right in line for what we had. I dont believe anyone wishing to eat a good chinese meal could find anything to complain about with this restaurant! Very good food. Good waiter. But had a very very noisy family across the room from my table were we could NT talk or hear well could not have a conversation cause the noise was so bad. Asked the waiter if we could move and she said no. Even the couple behind me complained to the waitress about the noise and they were told the same thing no. To bad. Its a nice place good food and service. Just needs to control the noise better. Might be back might not. But I well tell others about my experience

This restaurant has been our go to Chinese fav for years. Every dish is excellent. Aggie loves the chicken wrap (super fresh lettuce) and orange chicken. I always go extra spicy and they make it perfect. Dinner menu has amazing gourmet dishes along with clever flowers carved from radish to enhance presentation. At least 4 star in my opinion with very economical pricing and great ethnic appropriate servers who know the menu.

Found this restaurant by accident passing through Nashville. I gave up eating Sweet and Sour Pork years ago but tried it on a whim and it was the best Ive ever had. My wife loved her soup, and though were only here a few days, well definitely be going back before we leave to try the Amazing Chicken, which one of the other diners assured us really is "amazing". Quick, friendly service. Cant say enough.

We ate here after it was recommended by a friend, but we had mixed reactions. I ordered the General Tsos chicken and was mostly disappointed. It wasnt spicy or crispy and it was also fairly pricey. My wife had the chicken friend rice which was much better. I did enjoy the hot and sour soup I got for an appetizer. It had just the right amount of burn that would catch in the back of your throat.
